Worst place ever, DO NOT GO HERE the guy will literally try to up sell everything to you and when you question why he’s even recommending a part he gets pissed off and yells at you. Never ever going back and I’m letting everyone I know not to come here. The guy also doesn’t even know what he’s doing.

Quick, easy, and fair. I will use Jay’s serivice again and I think you should too.

I had some car issues and my car was stuck at home, Jay replied promptly and fixed the situation. If you have a car emergency and need to get moving by the next day this is the guy to call. Thanks to Jay! and the advice!

We have a motor home that wouldn’t start even after a new battery. Jay to the rescue! He came to the site, diagnosed, replaced the starter, and got us going in total two hours from my call. Reasonable pricing too

Just like I thought, Jay is awesome. Went over and beyond to help me in a bad situation. I ended leaving mu car with him for further repairs and tune up. Very hard to find a mechanic that uou can trust. He just earned a customer for life…

After calling him for an estimate to replace my shocks — I was shocked. He quoted me $ 1000 to replace my rear shock absorbers on my ML350 AND I ALREADY HAVE THE BILSTEIN SHOCKS. Bhahahaaaa I’M NOT AN IDIOT. 1,000 to replace STANDARD rear suspension is tooooo much — it doesn’t take 10 hours to replace suspension. When I told that’s he said he charges more to work on Mercedes.
And he isn’t «mobile» — I’m not taking my car to a strangers backyard to be fixed. And I know he didn’t think I was going to let him come pick up my truck and bring it back. Bhahahaaaa he’s out of his mind.
I watch the mechanic replace new standard suspension on my C 300 and it only took an hour per side. I was charged 2 hrs of service and was out the door. *heavy sigh*

Jay has worked on my 05 silverado, 99 Camry & 07 Sebring. He’s done everything from custom work upgrading my electrical systems to general tune ups, replacing shocks, struts, timing belt, etc. I was a little weary at first, but I have compared to his estimates to shops and Jay is always about 30−50% cheaper as far as labor is concerned. He worked on my vehicles for the first time in February and I have had no complaints so far.

My car randomly wouldn’t start one day. It was a very hectic morning and I had a ton of things to do. And worst of all, it was parked temporarily at the wrong place — so I would have gotten a parking ticket soon.
Thankfully, I found Jay. He came out and found the problem in just a few minutes. The starter was broken. He went and got a new starter, and installed it right away. Worked great!

I needed to get some work done on my car — new struts and brakes — and was looking for a good place to get this done. I came across Jay and all the good reviews he has and decided to go with him, and I’m glad I did!
Jay met me at my place to pick up my car and got the work done quickly. He called to let me know about a couple of other things that he suggested be done and gave me estimates for those as well so I could decide what to do.
The pricing was very reasonable and I feel like the work done was quality and Jay stands by his work. After getting the new brake pads, I noticed a squeaking in my front tires when I braked after my car had been sitting for a while so I called Jay back up to let him know about this and he came the next day to put on a different brand of brake pads, which solved the problem. I’m very happy with his work and will be going to him again in the future.

I had to get a Unilocal account just to be able to add a review to Jay’s business; that’s how kind he was and how much I appreciated his help.
Though he was unable to resolve my issue personally, he went above and beyond; going and getting additional parts himself, as well as putting me in touch with someone who was able to program my key right away. For so much less than I was being charged by the dealership.
I now have him on speed dial and will go to him before another mechanic from now on.

An honest mechanic is hard to come by, but Jay is exactly that. No repairs without my permission, no technical jargon I can’t understand, just a laid out honest assessment of what the truck needed. Add on that he comes to you, and that his prices are comparable with most static location shops —- I would rather call Jay than take my truck to anyone else.

I was having battery problems with my car. GEICO sent three different companies to jump my car. But as soon as I turned off the engine after driving it around, the car wouldn’t start.
I found Jay on Unilocal. He was able to come by my house the day I called. Quickly tested the battery and determined it was no good. Installed a replacement. It was very quick. He knew what he was doing. Was very knowledgeable and professional.
Highly recommended.

I needed a new catalytic converter for my smog inspection, he shopped around to find the best deal he could and got it done fast. As added, unexpected bonuses: he gave me rides to and from his place. I’m new to California, so I didn’t have any personal recommendations, so I’m glad I went with him.

Jay was really great and courteous. My car had been stolen and the battery was taken out. I replaced the battery and it still wouldn’t start. I thought it was the starter or something else that would cost over 400.00.
Jay arrived at my house, straight to the job, no nonsense. I was just expecting an estimate, but he was able to find the program, went to the store and bought and replaced the fuse (I didn’t even know the battery had a fuse), and it was up and running within 30 minutes.

Jay did ANOTHER stellar, cheap, fast, and solid job for us. Clutch pedal popped out and dropped to the floor. We knew it wasn’t a big deal, you could see the part just hanging from inside our truck. It just needed to be connected back again. at least that’s how it looked. Turns out was a pin that fell out or broke. Jay was ON IT. He almost rigged a replacement part just from a bolt he found in his tool box in his car, but offered to find the actual part if he could locate it. So, he returned the following day and it was done. Clutch now works fine.
We’ve used him before and he’s done a great job. Will continue to call him in the future.
It’s a little bit hard to hear him properly sometimes, but still well worth calling his service.

Jay was a great help today. I was changing my rotors and break pads on both my cars. I got stuck and wanted to give up. I called jay and he came by and finished my elantra quick at my place. Then I decided to change the rotors on my bmw at jay’s place. He finished rotors and break pads fast again. Both cars I got a great deal. Actually gave me a discount because I did half the work. His wife is a mechanic and told me to go her for auto body work in Emeryville. I asked about fixing my fender. I recommend to hire him. You won’t regret it.

I noticed a clutch problem in my 1990 Mazda Miata two weeks ago, and I spent a whole week trying to find a good mechanic who could give me an honest and reasonable quote and respond to my messages. I don’t know much about cars, but I want my mechanic to.
Finally after that week, I found Jay’s number, called, and knew right away I had found a straight-​forward and smart mechanic. After diagnosing the problem, he gave me a clear quote and even explained to me what was going on with the hydraulics connected to my clutch. It was nice to learn more about the car I’m driving. He also made it easy to coordinate picking up and dropping off of my car… hassle free!

Jay is helpful.
He’s worked on my 2004 Nissan Murano twice now. The first time he repaired a leak in the power steering fluid, which caused damage in the power steering belt. The second time He fixed an oil leak, including changing the O ring, and a gasket, and replacing two belts. He has also helped to assess problems with my car’s alignment and the efficacy of the breaks.
His prices are very fair, if not generous. I would gladly pay more, because he makes it so convenient! He picks up my car, sometimes leaves me with a loaner and meets me somewhere convenient for me. He works in the evenings and on the weekends, which is an amazing service from my point of view.
I mean, honestly, I don’t think you could find a more honest, hardworking mechanic than Jay. And from what I have seen he has a heart of gold, so he’s someone I feel great about doing business with.

Jay is the man. This guy is no nonsense, fair prices, and gets straight to the job. I recently broke my ankle and was in need of a quick spark plug change on my E36 BMW so I could get a smog. I couldn’t stand so I couldn’t do the job myself. Within a couple hours of making a call to Jay, he showed up at my house and the spark plug job was done in a professional manner and very quick. We had agreed on a fair flat rate for the work and he even helped with a broken radiator fan shroud. He takes pride in his work and went the extra mile so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his work to anyone.

I called Jay to replace my front brake pads, something I was told I needed done by the regular shop I usually go to. When he arrived, he took off the wheels and showed me that they were at 75% and nowhere close to needing to be changed. He checked the back ones too which were also fine but needed to be cleaned and required a few adjustments. He saved me hundreds of dollars with his honesty and everything was done within forty minutes.
While taking care of this job, he noticed my bumper was cracked and said he could fix that too if I wanted to and the same day. Within an hour and a half, he had picked up the new bumper, returned, and completed the job. His rates are extremely reasonable (hundreds of dollars less than I was quoted by any garage!) and he is very professional.
Don’t waste your time with garages that need to charge higher prices to take care of their overhead and tell you thing that need to be fixed which don’t!
