High Tide Tutoring delivers personal, professional math, science and statistics tutoring services to all levels of students in the greater Berkeley area. This is an in-​home service which means that we do not have a physical location. The tutoring is done in the comfort of the student’s home or in a quiet public location like a library or coffee shop.

History

Established in 2009.

Katie Larkin started the business with a personal background in math and statistics teaching and tutoring. The need for affordable private tutoring was very strong in San Diego, so Katie gathered a small group of talented tutors and High Tide Tutoring was born.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Received my BS in Math (minor in Secondary Education) from James Madison University (2003), MS in Statistics from San Diego State University (2005). I taught at SDSU as a Teaching Assistant from 2003 — 2005. I worked as an actuary from 2006 — 2008. Since 2008 I have gone back to teaching at the college level in San Diego and Lake Tahoe. I started High Tide Tutoring in March of 2009 in San Diego, and am now embarking on a Berkeley, CA branch. I have recently relocated to Lake Tahoe where I also do private tutoring in the fields of math and statistics.
