Harry Likas Piano Lessons

Harrison L. Your public rant is just that. Since you never even took a lesson from Harry nor listened to him play, and all you can do is whine about a phone call, I think you must be a very unhappy person. You will have a very hard time learning keyboard because of your lack of patience. Harry makes a small living teaching and playing piano. Have you found a teacher yet? Probably not. Harry is one of the kindest, most gentle people I have ever met. I consider him a lifetime friend, even though I can no longer handle the traffic from Fairfax to Berkeley to continue lessons from Harry. If you had ever given him a chance, you would have been in the position to learn more than you would with someone less patient and not anywhere near as knowledgable.

Extremely rude person that i have ever met. Im currently looking for teacher who teach keyboard. He just hang off the phone without answering any of my questions. Definitely not a patient person.
Updated: i have read what harry’s reply and this guy is simply a liar. This guy have messaged me privately and acknowledged that he was the one who hang up the phone and there was no breaking up or internet issue. I have never heard my phone is restricted and no one have any issues to call me back. Stop telling lies and sending friend request to me on facebook or sending me private msg it is really annoying. I wasn’t intend to attack anyone on Unilocal to ruin anyone’s business but just revealing the truth. Harry, the wrong thing you did in your private message is keep telling lies. If you just told me what you did is wrong and you promise you will make correction I will change my mind to give you a positive review instead. Too bad it’s too late now.

Its funny reading the other reviews because when you hire Harry to play at your wedding the bride never meets him in person hahaha.
I hired Harry for my wedding last October to play during cocktail hour for my guests. I heard from numerous people how they loved him and how professional amnd talented he was. He was very fast at responding to my questions and emails and he is fairly priced.
Thank you Harry for making my wedding that much more classy and special.

I hired Harry to play the piano during my church wedding ceremony. I am truly happy I did. He was prompt, talented, and artistic. He took my wedding march song «Cant take my Eyes off of you», and added a flare to it by making it upbeat and dramatic; the way that I wanted to come down the aisle!

Harry is both a very talented musician and a patient teacher. He really demystifies reading jazz charts and creating interesting solos. In addition, he keeps up to date on electronic keyboards and amplifers and has helped me with many purchases for my rock band.

Harry is an amazing piano teacher and really great to work with. He’s flexible and can teach all foundations, chords and scales and sight-​reading but will teach you songs or improv pieces if you prefer. He’s obviously very knowledgeable with any style or type of music from classical, jazz, pop or just about anything! He’s come up with all kinds of different improvisational tools to help you develop your own style, based on the masters! Well he’s a master himself and if you want to take lessons and learn to be a pro piano player, take lessons from Harry!

I got married with my wife at The Berkeley City Club July 2012. We would like to recommend our pianist, Harry Likas. He did a great job as a pianist and as a DJ as well. We loved everything he did, an amazing job. In the end our guests left BCC with a great smile.

I am a student of Harry’s and cannot speak highly enough about him. He is an extremely talented pianist, who knows how to deal with his students at their levels. He can teach any style, pop, jazz, classical etc. He has a wonderful library of sheet music, and exercises that he adapts for the student’s needs. I find him quite instructive and patient. Best of all, I feel my playing has improved tremendously under his tutelage.

Harry played piano at my wedding a year ago. He is very talents, although I have not meet him in person, he responds to emails quickly and assured me he would be on time, given that my wedding was in SF and he would have to cross the bay bridge. The main reason I choose Harry was because I wanted to walk down the aisle to Jonathan Cain-​Bridal March. He knew that song by heart. He was also able to recommend other songs and worked with me to determine the type of music I liked. He was on the more expensive side but he knew my song so it was well worth it for me.
