Description

Specialties

People come to me for a variety of reasons. Many people come because they have some kind of tension or pain in their body. Some people come to improve their posture or increase their flexibility. Others come because they have heard that the results from Rolfing are usually more significant and longer lasting than a traditional massage.

I am skillful in dealing with all kinds of issues such as poor posture, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel, scoliosis and asymmetries. You don’t have to be in pain to benefit from my work. People often remark that my style is «exactly what they’ve been looking for.»

In 2006, I developed my own approach called The Barefoot Method. Unlike traditional Rolfers who use their forearms, elbows and knuckles, I use my feet. Using my feet not only allows me to use my body more efficiently, it also feels better to clients because the foot is more broad and less invasive.

Meet the Business Owner

Govinda B.

Business Owner

I received my Rolfing Certification in 2003 from The Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado. I discovered Rolfing in my own pursuit to unlock my postural patterns and heal my body.

I am known for being gifted at blending both the practical, analytical aspects of bodywork with the creative and intuitive. My approach is dynamic and is custom-tailored to my clients’ unique needs. I am a longtime student of yoga, dance, anatomy and movement, biomechanics, postural patterning and emotional and spiritual growth work.

Outside of bodywork, I am a seeker of wholeness and inner and outer untangled-ness. I have traveled extensively in Asia and am especially drawn to Thailand, where I have been known to receive daily 3 hour Thai massages for weeks on end. I am also a lover of music and play both the bass and the guitar. I enjoy exploring nature and thrive in warm weather.

And yes, Govinda is my real name!
