I LOVE Alexis. My husband and I lived at a place operated by this agency for 2 years. The people who we knew around us that also rented from them had been there for extended lengths, (one lady was a 17 year renter with him). He treats his tenants super well and everything we needed repaired or improved was done so quickly and properly. One example; We were living in a place that had recently been redone, and when the water heater broke we got a tankless one 2 days later.
He doesn’t skimp on safety either, which I really value. He was flexible and kind, super understanding guy. The only reason we stopped renting from him was because we were moving out of the country. Best landlord I’ve ever had.
Sorry Lady B got rejected, but that honestly sounds a normal hunting experience in the Bay Area. If you move to a smaller town you wont have to deal with it, it’s a trade off.

I know the Berkeley housing market is competitive, but the behavior of this leasing company was pretty inexcusable.
We attended a (very busy) open house and spoke with Alexis for some time about how much we liked the home. He told us to fill out applications on the spot and that he would get back to us soon.
We paid him $ 45 ($ 15 /​application) and emailed him later that day saying, once again, how much we liked the place. We never heard back from him!!! Three days later, when we finally reached him via cell phone, he said he had rented it out to another group!
That is robbery and they should be ashamed of themselves!
