These guys were great! Got my car done quicky, which is just what I needed.
However, the real above and beyond service happened when I left my wallet there. The technician called me right away and I said I would be able to get back until about 20 mins after they closed. He was kind enough to stay late so I could get it. Thanks so much, I will definitely be coming back!

I took my BMW here to get smog check done.
My car did not pass the smog check due to check engine light. My plan was get the smog check done and sell the car. These guys recommend to get vehicle retirement plan from state of California and I have applied online and I end up selling my car to State.
Great recommendation… I had no idea state has this plan.

Came in during my lunch break a couple weeks ago. I picked Berkeley Star Smog because of proximity to my work. They were extremely friendly and fast. Despite not having an appointment and having a two cars ahead of me, my car was done in under an hour. Numan was the nicest guy and gave me the discount mentioned on Unilocal.We chatted a bit while the tests ran. He’s a hard-​working family man that wants to provide great service to his customers. I’m totally satisfied with the job and would happily recommend this shop.

I called the shop on my way to the location, which was conveniently located in the block west of San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. I was on my lunch hour so I needed the smog check to be done quickly. He asked a few questions and advised that I could come right over. When I arrived he came out of the shop and directed me in the bay. I was in and out with my Smog check in hand in less than 25 minutes. I believe I dealt with the manager, Bill. Fast and easy!

Fast and friendly service. I came here 2 years ago for the first time, and I’m back again for another smog check. They are pretty busy, so calling in to make an appointment will make the whole process faster. With an appointment today, I was in and out in 25 mins, not bad at all!

Changing my review from 1 star to 3. The owner called me and apologize for the wait. He explain that’s not how he does business and wanted to make things right by giving me a refund for the service. I told him his phone call meant more to me than getting my money back and we left things at that

Bill is awesome! He greeted me happily as soon as I walked into the shop. The entire process was quick and easy and very painless. I highly recommend coming here! They even helped me back out of the garage. Very friendly and extremely welcoming.

Bill was great. He went above and beyond to help us out. We had an issue with our check engine light and it was causing an automatic fail on the smog test. He worked with us — including dropping off and picking up the car from our dealership so they could reset the system. Now that is top notch service. Patient, easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful. Will definitely be back.

These guys were great! I was early, they were on time. Bill was eager to make this super quick, whole thing took 10 minutes. Its a family operated place which was great. Bill and his son were very polite and eager to get me back on to my saturday as soon as they could. He even blocked traffic so I could pull my car out of the garage. Definitely going here again.

We had a poor experience here at first — we made two appointments that were subsequently cancelled when we were already either there or on the way (my previous review was removed and I don’t feel like telling the whole story again, but it was very unprofessional). The owner reached out to us and offered to make it right, as he was out of town and the shop was left to be handled by only one technician. I appreciated him reaching out and explaining the situation! Good business practices.

First time getting a smog check in Berkeley. One of the few places in Berkeley that’s open on Sundays which was a huge plus. They set me up for an appointment earlier than their posted business hours which was great also.
Came in, dropped my car off, paid the $ 24.95 price that I mentioned I saw on Unilocal (includes a few other fees so comes out to just about $ 35.00), had a burrito down the street, and within 30 minutes my car passed and was good to go!
Quick, easy, painless. Thanks guys!
