We offer Karate classes for kids, women and men, age 7 years & up. NO CONTRACTS. New Kids Classes starting NOW! Classes for beginner to advanced students. If you are experienced in another system you don’t need to start over, ask about our equivalency placement. At our school you will learn the details of the physics, physiology, and mental attitudes necessary to be very effective in your self-​protection. You will also improve your physical condition, strength, and confidence. When followed properly, karate-​do training transcends into your daily life and results in a more centered individual.

History

Established in 1992.

Opened in 1992, the Shotokan Karate Academy has been servicing the community since then to develop confidence in youth and adults through effective instruction of Traditional Japanese Martial Arts.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Sensei Ricardo Llewelyn has been practicing Shotokan Karate since 1970. He holds a Hachi-​Dan (8^th Degree Black Belt) in Shotokan Karate and has been granted titles of Kyoshi and Shihan with the International Santen Karate Association (ISKA). Kyoshi Llewelyn is the President of the ISKA, founded by Sensei Vincent Cruz. Sensei Llewelyn is also ranked with the Dai-​Ichi Shotokan Karate Association (DSKA), headed by Sensei Ricardo Johns and the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF), headed by the late great Master Hidetaka Nishiyama.
