Floors on First is a terrific Benicia find! Bob is a true professional and strives to provide the best cutomer experience possible. He is dedicated to making sure you are 100% satisfied with your selection and the installation was fantastic. We had carpet installed recently and are completely satisfied with the results. We will be using them again and are referring to our family and friends as well. Even if you’re not in the market today, stop by and say hi to Bob, he is a hoot!

Floors on First is the best. The owner Bob is a really nice guy and knows flooring. I had new flooring installed throughout. Laminate in the living area, looks like real wood, tile in bathrooms and carpet in bedrooms. The installers were great. They were very professional and all the flooring looks amazing. The whole process was seamless, picked out flooring, set up an install date and the installers arrived on time everyday and cleaned up when they left for the day. I would highly recommend Floors on First.

Amazing company to work with! Flooring was completed yesterday (7.29.14) after 7 days. My home was built in 1992 and had carpet everywhere including the ½ bath downstairs. We had our entire first floor done in hardwood (roughly 1,000 sqft) plus tile installed for the 2 full bathrooms upstairs! Amazing professionalism by the owner and the installers! I would use again and highly recommend! This is only the second time I have used Unilocal to recommend, so this is a big deal. Thank you Floors on First!

Bob and his team of installers literally came to our rescue and finished a job in less than 8 hours that we’d been trying to get done for almost three weeks from another carpet installer in Napa. We had our house on the market when we had a pipe burst that caused damage. Between State Farm and the carpet installers they suggested from Napa, this became a horrible nightmare. Thank goodness for a friend who suggested Bob at Floors on First in Benicia. He was at our house within 20 minutes of calling, brought a good choice of samples, measured and gave us an excellent price. The thing we like about Bob is that he is very down to earth and delivers what he promises. Next day Juan and his assistant arrived exactly on time. In less than 8 hours we had the stairs and the entire upper floor carpeted with lovely new carpets leaving everything neat and tidy.

Floors on First was wonderful to work with. We had a large remodel project in our kitchen and decided to put the same hardwood flooring thought thr rest of the house. They worked with us to make sure we had exactly what we not only wanted but needed as well. Their team were very friendly at the store and very professional on the installation.

They did the entire upstairs in my house last summer, and they did a great job. From my initial contact, to selecting the hardwood materials with Bob, to the installation, everyone at Floors on First were communicative and professional. Hillary was also fantastic at communicating about the job. My floors look fantastic! So happy with how everything turned out; I highly recommend FoF.

My wife and I searched about 5 different flooring companies and nothing compared to the service, pricing, professionalism and expert craftsmanship that Floors on First had to offer.
I demand perfection when it comes to anyone working in my house. When the day came, the installers came on schedule, did their thing, and left our home cleaner and more beautiful than it was before they had arrived. All work was completed in the time it was promised and the installers went above and beyond to make sure every last detail was perfected.
We will be contacting Floors on First soon to complete a few more rooms and will continually refer friends to see Bob.

I have used this outfit for carpets and hardwood floors on several rental units I own in Benicia and Vallejo. They are not the cheapest, but for the personal service and the excellent installation jobs they have done for me, it is worth a few dollars more! I would recommend this store and when you do use it say hi to Bob!

Floors on First has done two jobs at my house. They tiled our family room & hallway. Then installed a cork floor in our kitchen. Both were done professionally, on tint, within budget and have worn well. We found Bob & his crew to be easy to work with.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Bob and his team of installers. Michael and Kelly were awesome, they went above and beyond the call of duty.
I’ve never done a huge project like this so when Bob and I worked out all the details I needed someone like him to guide me through the process.

Bob came highly referred to us by a coworker. He came to our house and have an estimate. We had done a little research and found that Floors on First gave us a great price. They are extremely helpful and worked within our budget. The installation crew worked hard and stayed to the get the job done quickly and efficiently. We HIGHLY recommend them!

Floors on First is outstanding. We were looking to replace the carpet in our home and do hardwood on both levels. Here is a recount of our experience.
Flooring Selection Process:
We looked at a couple places in Benicia, but I can tell you that when we first walked into Bob’s store, the atmosphere and feeling was very different than others — in a positive way. Bob was so friendly and there to help guide and assist us in choosing what we wanted. He was never pushy, yet offered his opinion and always left us feeling like we were in the driver’s seat. We were constantly in and out of his store looking at samples and even bringing some home and placing it in areas of the house to get a feeling of what it would look like. Bob was so accommodating in this process and always advised us to take our time because what he wanted was that we were happy with our choice.
Installation and Scheduling:
Bob and his assistant always were in communication with us on the process and whenever we had a question they were an email or phone call away. Bob’s installation team led by Andres is great. They are professional workers who you can tell have been doing this a long time. They laid down our floors perfectly. They flush mounted our wood to the tile and even corrected some uneven parts where our banister was to ensure a seamless finish. Andres is a master on stairs and he did a wonderful job with ours.
Pricing:
Bob’s store is very competitive and we really didn’t have to compare a lot to others. We just knew that he was straight forward and appreciated our business. You can read others’ reviews about his competitive price point. The one thing we appreciated is that when Bob does an estimate, he does it all inclusive so there are no hidden costs or fees to worry about.
Overall:
We would definitely use Floors on First again. Their quality, knowledge, service and communication were all high points for us.

After living with carpet in our family room, dining room, and hallways for 20 plus years, my wife and I wanted wood in these areas. Both of us being retired, we could not cost justify hardwood so we chose laminate from Quick Step. Bob did not have the style we wanted as part of his offerings, but he quickly ordered it. The job was completed today and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We had 2 sets of stairs to do also, and the attention to detail on the stairs was fantastic. Ripping out the carpet around the stairs left the sides of the stairs a mess, but Andres used crown moulding to finish off the stairs better than we expected. If I could give more than five stars to Floors on First I would definitely give more. On two occasions I have worked with Floors on First and each time I have received outstanding customer service and top quality workmanship. Floors on First installed wood flooring in my home 7 years ago. The workmanship and customer service was excellent.
Recently, I had a pipe break in my upstairs master bedroom. Unfortunately, the broken water line ran constant for over 6 hours ruining my carpet, wood floors and title on the first and second floors of my home. I hired a general contractor to manage the project since the work was extensive. The contractor allowed me to select who I desired to install my flooring. I selected Floors on First. I visited the showroom on a Saturday afternoon while Bob was attending a conference but his wife step in and helped me make some preliminary selection. She spent hours helping me to narrow my carpet, wood and title selection. She was knowledgeable, patience and professional. She insisted and allowed me to take home as many sample selections I felt I needed in order to make an informed decision. Her customer service really won me over.
The following week I made my selection of wood, carpet and title. Bob advised that it would take 2 days to install the wood floor and title and a day to install the carpet. His crews performance was excellent from the beginning till the end and my requests for special touches e.g., patterned & walkways, new titled fireplace were met with courtesy, patience and a can do attitude. His crew took their time and care to details and were careful to clean-​up after themselves. I was particularly impressed that Bob checked on his crew throughout the entire job and even stopped by to see if things were running as I desired. I am so pleased with the outcome. My new floors look AWESOME! As always, Floors on First surpassed my expectations. Well Done, Floors on First!!!

Yes, I know — all these five star ratings — are they for real? In our case, yes they are. We had a leaky valve in our refrig/​freezer which caused lot of water damage in our kitchen (tile) and adjoining family area (carpet).
Bob came out to our home, gave us a great price, his crew showed up on time — and were very flexible/​smart about what they did and when. For example, they discovered more significant damage to the particle board under the tile and realize we need to let that area dry out and treat it for mold before they could proceed. They helped us find an honest contractor to take out and replace the built-​in cabinets so we could be this done at minimal additional expense. Then they came back and did a great professional job on the floor itself. They even replaced the kick-​board with material that matched the cabinets better than the original.
A week later, they came in and did the carpet section and did a great job here. We have nothing but good things to say about Bob and his install crews (and contractor friends). A pleasant change from other contractors we’ve dealt with. Highest recommendations!

Floors on First did an outstanding job for us. We replaced the vinyl flooring in our kitchen and carpet in the adjacent family room with an engineered wood floor. They showed up quickly for an estimate, gave a very competitive price, and answered lots and lots of questions for us. We decided to go with them as their Unilocal reviews were outstanding and the pricing very competitive.
There was good communication about the status of the matériel order, and the proposed start date. They started on the day they said, and the job took three days, as estimated. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding. They did a job that really, really paid attention to detail and left nothing unfinished. I’m picky and have years of experience in construction, so I’m not easily impressed. The installers cleaned up completely every day– I mean, swept and vacuumed and the only way you’d have known they were there is that our old floor was missing after the first day.
We’re very pleased with our new floor and the base trim they installed, and would highly recommend this firm.
