WorldMark Bend – 7th Mountain Resort

Although I enjoy the pool area and location, had a terrible experience recently.
I left some items in my room unfortunately, but knew the exact location and called the very next day. I was told to log a ticket on a website, even though I just left the items. I logged the ticket, heard nothing back, called a week later, they didn’t have time to look. Stopped by 3 weeks later when I was in the area, waited 40 minutes and they could find anything in their housekeeping area, or record of me loosing the items, but they said at the front desk it can take months for items to be found and owners notified? Finally got a call back after yet another in-​person visit offering no free night or anything for a case where clearly the housekeepers stole my items worth about $ 400. If I had a call back immediately with a definitive ‘we cant find anything’ it would have been different and I would have accepted that.
Same visit of the loss my girlfriend and I encountered a huge gaggle of Russians that overtook the pool and hot tub area, they were annoying and rude.
And I love the timeshare subtle sale during checkin.
This is a budget family vacation place with awful customer service.

If you choose to stay here your signing up for sales calls in your room, sales any time you may need something from the front desk and it’s pretty uncomfortable. We already paid to stay here so we had 3 nights of this. Although I kept saying I was not interested in a time share they didn’t get the hint.
The room was clean and comfortable but the walls are paper thin and I could literally hear everything our next door neighbor was saying about her ski trip late at night and first thing in the morning.
There was no fridge in our room despite the description online.
The bed was comfortable memory foam, but the heater couldn’t decide if it wanted to be on or off, cycling every 5 minutes and blowing right on us.
I’ve experienced better and next time I’ll go somewhere else.

My brothers from California visited me for 10 days and we stayed here for 3. We had an amazing time time! This resort is so beautiful and have everything we need. I have a toddler with me so there’s a lot of activities for them also. I can’t believe some reviewers have such bad reviews. Mostly over stupid complaints. They don’t have shampoo and conditioner? Well, bring your own. I always do, but then, I have so much hair that those tiny hotel shampoos aren’t enough.
Anyway, thanks to all the staff that make our stay very memorable. We really appreciate it!
We will be back. This time, with my husband and daughter :)

While the grounds are nice, and the location is beautiful I was disappointed with the accomodations. I booked a hotel room, as opposed to one of the condo units, and paid a rate similar to other «nice» hotels in the area. I did not, however get hotel amenities. No maid service, no shampoo or conditioner, and only decaf coffee was left for us. The room is in need of updating, the bathtub in need of replacement. The mattress? One of the worst I have slept in, and that includes my time in the military. My advice? Spend your vacation dollars elsewhere.

We’ve been coming here for about seven years, across all seasons. Sadly the place is now spiralling downward quickly.
the Good:
– still has a nice pool area. They keep them clean and well taken care of.
– the views from most condos are really beautiful, you see the forest from the balconies.
– good location if you want to ski Mt. Bachelor
– if you’re willing to shell out some bucks, there are good activities to do, e.g., horseback riding, kayaking, etc.
the Not so Good:
– they used to have a nice restaurant and bar on campus. Both have closed now for quite some time. Now if you want to eat or drink, you have to drive about six miles into Bend.
– used to have nice amenities, such as robes you could wear to the pool, towel service, nice soaps and lotions, etc. Made it feel like a resort rather than just a hotel. Not any more.
– thin walls. You can hear lots of things going on with your neighbors next to you and above you, and we mean lots of things. Gross.
– they got rid of the ski van shuttle to Mt. Bachelor. Wow, that’s hard to believe. If you want a shuttle now you first have to get down to Bend — going the opposite way from the mountain — then catch the shuttle at the Safeway, only to come back up, pass the resort and up to the mountain. Absurd.
– Wi fi is one router per building. Meaning, no one really gets Internet access, it’s down. You’ll have to use your own data plan.
the Terrible:
– the place is now a high-​pressure, Timeshare come-​see-​our-​presentation sales event. From the time you arrive and check in, they pressure you to attend their sessions. You can’t even finish checking in without talking to one of their sales people. And they don’t take no as an answer. They call your room frequently. Daily. in the morning, at night, you name it. You get the sense the place is run by out of work used car salesmen desparate to make any sale they can. You feel stalked, to the point you don’t even want to pass by the front desk or call them for anything. It’s very annoying, and it’s been this way the last several times we’ve visited.
– the front desk and resort personnel cannot answer basic questions about the resort or area. Maybe because they are busy worrying about making a sale.
– For the price you pay, you have better alternatives. And you don’t feel so creeped out that someone is going to pop up out of nowhere and haul you to their sales meeting.

So we are Worldmark owners, have been to multiple others. There is some nice things about this place, i.e. Close to bachelor, the pools, the hot tubs… I was disappointed with the room, bed was super hard, asked for a memory foam topper and they don’t have any here. Heater cycles on and off about every 3 minutes, very annoying. Showers suck. Very difficult to sleep with the bed and heater.

This review is very difficult for me to write for so many reasons. Originally known as the Inn at the Seventh Mountain Resort, this was the first Resort my Wife (then girlfriend at the time) vacationed to together. It was where my Wife and I got married. It was a very special place that we vowed we would come back to every year to celebrate our anniversary. But, unfortunately we had to stop our tradition at year number 7. Ever since WorldMark took over this Resort my experience has been nothing but horrendous.
Originally this was a great place to vacation with family. Lots of great activities for kids during the Summer with multiple swimming pools, hot tubs, horse riding, miniature golf, play grounds, etc. It also had a great bar with a big screen tv for an adult escape at night.
The last two years we visited, the swimming pools and hot tubs were closed, and this year they closed the bar. That alone is disappointing, but thats not even the main reason I’m giving a 1-​star review. When Worldmark took over, the Inn lost its local connection, and in came big business lack of customer appreciation. When we got married at the Inn they told us they would love to have us come back anytime, and they would honor the room rate we received on our wedding night for a large 1 bedroom condo of $ 99/​night. We loved that they would extend such a great offer. Easy to do on their end when we spend $ 20k to get married there. No less, it was a nice touch. I mentioned this to the Worldmark staff when they took over the Inn, and immediately rejected honoring any prior agreements. Which I understand to some extent. BUT, when they wanted to charge me $ 299/​night for a room AND the pools and hot tubs were closed. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The bar is closed? NO WAY! Then, the straw that broke the camels back… the construction. Going until past dinner time, and starting first thing in the morning. I had enough. My Wife and I were so upset during our last stay, we gave them our complaints and said there was nothing they could do except credit our account if we wanted to leave. Thats what we did. We left the place we got married on our anniversary. I felt so bad for my Wife to have to go through such a negative experience on our anniversary, for a place we used to love so much.
Finally, to add insult to injury… the management staff didn’t help the situation. With a promise to «make this bad experience up to us if we decide to give them anothing chance», a decided I would give them one last chance this year. WITH 0 FOLLOW UP IN OVER A MONTH, we said finally that we were done. We will never attempt to stay at the Inn ever again. Bend has many great resorts, hotels, and with the rise of great houses to rent via VRBO and AirBNB, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

There are a lot of good things about this resort, but I’m not sure it’s worth the money. On a recent visit, our room wasn’t ready until 5:30 when check in time is 4 (the desk attendant was not at all apologetic and said check in STARTS at 4. Really? Does check out time start at noon?). Our unit, a 1 bedroom condo, was roomy but the décor was very basic and very dated. The pool areas and grounds are very nice. And it’s fun to go and see the horses. There is no restaurant on site. All in all, I might try again or I might look for a better deal.

My family has been coming here in the summer off and on for almost 20 years. Bend has changed a lot in just the last five years, mostly for the good!
When we showed up we learned that the ownership had changed to Wyndham sometime in the last year. They’ve made some improvements to the resort, but they continually boast about millions of dollars in improvements that aren’t particularly noticeable. That said, we still love coming here and appreciate the variety of great activities we can do there. I miss the food that used to be available and hope they bring back some sort of snack shack or other hot food options for those lounge days.
The sole reason for no fifth star is two-​fold. First was the almost daily sales call or note asking us to sit through a presentation in an effort to buy into their ownership (e.g. Time Share). We said no from the get go and didn’t want to spend our vacation listening to a sales pitch. I understand this is their new business model, but this may inhibit me from returning in the future. Additionally, their computer system couldn’t have been more frustrating. I won’t pretend to understand it, but nobody could get any part of the billing right nor explain it. Even now, they didn’t charge our credit cards properly and I’m afraid of what it will take to get it right.
In summary, still a fantastic family resort, but there’s still some work to do from an overall experience stand-​point.

This trip was arranged via fiancé’s mother, so we do not own a timeshare but I have in the past. We were in a one bedroom unit, building 5, not owners, stayed Sun-​Wed morning.
Pros: The area is beautiful so there is not a bad view to be had. We were in Bldg 5 on the second floor and the little balcony had a couple of chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. Pools were nice and clean. The room was clean but not pristine. The coffee pot needed a good cleaning but worked. Folks at the front desk were very kind and friendly even with the sales pitch aspect.
Cons: AC is sorta what we had. The weather had been unusually hot at home (Portland, OR area) and I assume in Bend also. The AC units sorta cooled the apartment down. The one in the living area smelled a bit like fish and the one in the bedroom would blow cool for awhile but then we woke up at 3am and it was almost 80 in the room. The pictures show a full refrigerator but we only had a small dorm type fridge that did not work particularly well. We had to crank it to as cold as it would go to keep our breakfast stuff and lunch meat safe to eat. WIFI is free, which is good because if I paid for it I would be pissed. It is slow and we were told at the desk we might get dropped off as there is only one modem per building. Not sure why that would cause issues other than not having the modem in a good location or bandwidth to support that many users. This next one is a pro and con. The kitchen had a lot of little useful items like spices, salt and pepper, coffee and filters, sponge for washing dishes etc. The bathroom, however, was lacking. A couple small bars of soap but no other toiletries at all. Not a huge complaint for me as I am a bit picky with soap and shampoo but just odd. Usually, it is all or nothing with consumables in resort rooms. The lack of any kind of noise reduction or sound proofing was a bit annoying, maybe more for our neighbors as my fiancé snores fairly loudly. We could clearly hear comings and goings of neighbors in the building, we could hear the tv downstairs and floors are a bit creaky.
I personally have owned a timeshare with my former husband and traveled for years trading it and using the one we bought into, bearing that in mind I am at a loss with the ball drop here. This is not a ‘resort’ per say, I would say it is more a hotel with some nice amenities. It is not up to par with the resorts I have traded for and stayed at in the US and Ireland. Reading the reviews and looking at the discrepancies in pictures between management and users I would have to say that if you own here it is probably wonderful. If you are just staying via a trade or just booking then beware it is not all it is hyped. It is a shame really, it has the potential to be a wonderful resort.

The resort itself is very nice, 2 pools, lots of open space, and great location — 5 miles outside of Bend. Pictures of rooms show flatscreen tv’s and murphy beds in the walls, what’s actually there are what my kids call ‘Cavemen TV’s’, and an uncomfortable hideabed in the couch. There are tennis courts but they are terrible — black top with no lines. The customer service is brutally bad. I booked a room in January for Memorial day weekend and booked a 1 bedroom deluxe with a kitchen — stove and full refrigerator freezer. They overbooked and told me I was out of luck and stuck me in a 1 bedroom with a microwave and dorm size refrigerator. The manager was not apologetic at all and said she would give me $ 10 off the rate of a 1 bedroom standard room. So — instead of cooking meals in our room we ended up going out and spent an extra $ 200 on meals and had one of the not remodeled rooms. Opting for Sun River next time.

If you’re playing a trip to Bend, Oregon and plan on spending a lot of time on Mt Bachelor, you’ll want to stay here even if only out of sheer convenience. Just make sure to book your room well in advance of your vacation. We wanted to extend our reservation one night after we had arrived. The resort didn’t seem full, but we were told that they were completely booked and so they sent us on down the road. It was weird. I wonder where all these people were because the resort did not seem full by any means.
This place is only a 20 minute drive from the mountain. I loved that each room had a slightly different feel to it with it’s mountain-​esque, quirky décor. I’m guessing these units are owned by different individuals and the resort handles the bookings of the rooms when the owners aren’t using them? We loved the pine smelling body soap so much that we took it with us to our next hotel destination.
What’s also great about these places is that there are kitchenettes available. You’re only a short drive away from a Safeway, Trader Joes or Whole Foods. You’ll save lots of $$ if you stock your own unit with groceries. Our place had everything we needed to make our meals including dishes, knives, plates, bowls, utensils, glasses, pots and pans.
We enjoyed the pool, spa and sauna area while we were here. A great place to unwind after a long day of skiing. If you don’t want to be around the kids and families, you’ll need to adjust your pool/​spa/​sauna time to later on in the evening. If you forget to bring a towel with you, no worries. The friendly staff down there will hook you up with one instead of making you walk all the way back to your room.
A friend of mine forgot her cellphone charger in the room. We were staying one more night in town so we thought we could swing by the resort to pick it up. Nope! Turns out that there’s this whole complicated process that you have to go through online where if they even find your stuff, they’ll mail it back to you. Silly and lame.

Terrible customer service. No food service available {unless you count pizza delivery available from the one and only to deliver here which happens to be the worst pizza delivery business in Bend}, and no one knows a thing going on here since the buy out. If you don’t offer food and your customer service is terrible, you are a motel. Congratulations. You are now a motel.

Pros: the grounds were beautiful, when I called to get towels, tissues or help with cable they came quickly. They plowed the snow and cleared walkways quickly. Their breakfast was great.
Cons: thin walls, inconsistent and slow WIFI, quality issues with units, they DO NOT have a shuttle to Mt. Bachelor, their front desk is a mess.
We checked in for 4 nights on the 3^rd day we were locked out of our room and told we were supposed to have checked out that morning. When I explained we had 2 more nights on our reservation, they told me the owner of our condo had arrived and they wanted us out of the unit. We moved for our last 2 nights and their system said we had one more night. Fortunately they took my word for it and updated their system for another night.
We were there for a ski trip and picked this resort because we understood they had a shuttle to Mt Bachelor. Since they didn’t, it would have been much better for us to have stayed in Bend so we could have enjoyed the town more. Next time!

We were in Bend for a short weekend for a friend’s wedding and stayed two nights at Seventh Mountain. We had to attend the rehearsal at 4 p.m. (check-​in time) and I had requested earlier in the week to have an early check in if possible. I called at 3:30 when we arrived in Bend and the hotel said we couldn’t check in early and that they would call us when our room was ready – which was about 4:15. I know it is not required that any hotel accommodate an early arrival, but our room wasn’t even ready until after their stated check in time. Staff was nice upon our arrival. They did ask us about wanting to attend a free breakfast and receive a $ 75 VISA card, aka — time share presentation. These happen all over, but I wasn’t about to waste 2 hours on it.
The room was the biggest problem. Our rooms walls were so paper thin it sounded like the couple staying next to us were INSIDE our room. There was a locked door connecting the rooms and the door frame wasn’t fully sealed from the neighboring room so we could even see when their lights were on and this probably added to the ability to hear EVERYTHING they said during our stay. They were up bright and early each day before 7 a.m. with the TV on, no sleeping in allowed.
The room had nice vaulted ceilings and a deck (which lacked furniture to even allow you to enjoy it). The room was dark and had an older feeling, yet it was clean upon arrival. There were two bars of soap in the bathroom with no shampoo or body wash. I had left mine at home thinking a small hotel size would be all I needed for the short trip. If the noise and lack of privacy from even a simple one on one conversation had been less of an issue I might have given them a higher rating.
Yes, the grounds are amazing and the scenery is beautiful, but its Bend, everywhere is beautiful, and I wouldn’t give the resort credit for that. I wouldn’t stay here again and would tell others to stay closer into town. Thank goodness I booked when they offered a 30% off deal that I caught for a last minute booking. I would have been more annoyed if I had paid full price for this stay. Maybe now I understand why there was a 30% off deal in the first place.

We are ‘owners’ of Worldmark. This was our first time at resort. Room was dirty. Blood and hair all over bed. I will attach photos. I am so disgusted and disappointed. I spoke to the main desk who stated someone will come to clean our room but this is not how I want to be welcomed to a hotel — especially one I ‘own’. Front desk offered no apologies. I am just so grossed out and angry!

We read quite a few poor reviews between Unilocal and trip advisor and really dont understand why. My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The room was up to date, clean, and big. The grounds are amazing and grand. There is put-​put, a large basketball court, tennis courts, two large pool areas, horseback riding, a golf course, disc golf, and a bar and grill all at this resort. Not sure what else you could ask for. There are awesome dining and drinking options in bend to choose from too (10 barrels brewery was our favorite). The staff was very helpful amd friendly, refering us with dining options. We will definitely be back and cant wait to bring our children here.

I looked around (at totally the last minute) for a not too far from home, not the beach, kitchenette, free wifi, and pool kind of place to have a short vacation with the Princess. This is where we landed. Bend.
7^th Mountain is the closest resort to Mt. Bachelor. The place is in the middle of changing hands and portions of the property are under construction. (construction and landscaping noise started before 8 am daily which was unhappy– making). There are often groupons and deals offering free nights for a certain number of paid nights. I booked it online using my AAA discount. I got a pretty decent rate for a 1 bdrm condo with a queen, queen sofa bed,
kitchenette, fireplace, and balcony. It was clean, air conditioned and well appointed for the most part. The tv in the bedroom didnt seem to have cable, they gave us less than a half roll of toilet paper, but otherwise it was fine. There’s no housekeeping during your stay. You can arrange some if you must. We didnt need that.
The tennis courts had weeds growing up through the cracks. Didnt see anyone using them. One playground was torn apart. Theres equipment like horseshoes to borrow. We did not try the bar (it has a nice patio with a fire pit) or restaurant. Theres a snack bar/​store by the pool area. In winter theres a skating rink. There are stables and they will arrange horseback riding for extra money. They will also set you up for raft trips that leave from the resort.
We did a whole lot of nothing during our stay. Reading by the pools (a big pool, a saltwater pool, a kid pool and three hot tubs) was the highlight and just what I needed. Princess made a friend so we spent a lot of time by the pool or in the hot tub talking to the other family.
This turned out to be just right for us. The construction was a minor bother (I think they should have told us when we checked in that our building #3 was right next to it). When I checked out I was asked how things were and I mentioned that. I dont think the murmur I got in return was super satisfying as a response… but I let it go.
All that pool time mellowed me mostly out.

Stayed here during Labor Day Weekend 2012. I scored a deal on
— stay three nights for the price of two. The deal also included $ 25.00 discount for anything on the resort. It was awesome!
My boyfriend and I stayed in a very spacious one bedroom condo with a decent sized kitchen, fireplace, and large bathroom. We had a beautiful view from our backdoor. The place was extremely clean, which I cannot emphasize enough. The condo can easily fit four people comfortably; the couch pulls out to a bed.
We used our $ 25.00 voucher towards rafting through the Deschutes. It was so much fun! The resort takes care of everything. They pick you up in a bus from the resort and drive you for about 15 minutes to your site and away you go. The whole trip was about 1 ½ — 2 hours.
The only reason for 4 stars is because my boyfriend and I didn’t eat at the restaurant on the resort nor did we swim at the pool. Otherwise everything else was absolutely perfect.
I can’t wait to come back to this place.

The only thing this «resort» has going for it is the location — it’s the closest hotel to Mt. Bachelor.
Otherwise, our room was bare and sparse. The walls are paper thin. Housekeeping leaves something to be desired by not performing basic functions like replacing the shampoo, changing the toilet paper rolls, or leaving clean coffee cups.
The hot tubs were so far from our room that we had to drive there. They’re also absolutely disgusting — the one we got in had peeling paint in it, and we felt sticky after 5 minutes and had to get out. The ladies changing room was filthy — there was either barf or oatmeal on the floor. There are children EVERYWHERE and someone had a baby in the hot tub. Think about it… the only thing keeping baby poop from spilling into the tub water is a thin layer of diaper plastic. No thanks!
The price was OK, and the included lift tickets were a perk, but the next time I’m in the area I will definitely be considering a different place to stay.
