Do you work? Have a family or friends? If so, be kind to your coworkers and loved ones… bring them Lafeen’s every now and again. They’ll like you more if you do. The staff here is very friendly and attentive and the food is a nice treat for special occasions. The blueberry and apple fritters are quite delicious. Enjoy.

Doughnuts and coffee. Don’t attempt a visit if you’re dairy free or gluten free. Splurge and rest in heavenly doughnut-Y bliss. Love the oversized maple bar and the«pinwheel» which is basically the same thing only wrapped up with cinnamon too. Their two real hard hitters are the fritters(Apple or Blueberry) and the buttermilk bars. Both will softly rock your world. Low key spot, very mom and pop, with plenty of easy parking. They also serve ice cream, and will always be a crowd favorite brought to a party. Reasonably priced and full of flavor– no dryness even late afternoon. Located off of the main track over by Whatcom Falls, so that you’re able to run or walk off all of their goodness afterwards.

You have to travel to LaFeen’s on purpose. It’s like a mythological donut store that you stumble on once when you were lost and could never find again. It’s tucked behind a gas station next to a dry cleaner and a hairdresser across the street from Whatcom Falls park in a residential area that you have to know to get to. The maple BigFoot is my usual standby, but sometimes their seasonal donuts are out and those are always a good time. If you like the maple, go late. They make fresh batches at night

If you are looking for the best donut of your life, you need to go to Lafeen’s! Their donuts are consistently amazing and seriously kick ass compared to everywhere else I have gone. The outside doesn’t show how lovely this place truly is. I’ve grown up going here and getting the donuts and ice cream and have never once been disappointed by my experience.

Donuts are delicious, but what’s with the hours. They seem to close at really random days/times with no warning.

Lafeen’s seems to be a Bellingham staple — and I’m perfectly okay with that. From the outside, Lafeen’s doesn’t look like much(it’s kind of dingy, actually). Once you go inside though, you can tell that the residents of Bellingham really do endorse this place. There’s handmade posters from local students all over the walls, shirts, and more that really give this place its homey feel. Both times that I’ve gone to Lafeen’s, I’ve been hungover. Which sucks, because I always go for the safe options; a maple bar or a glazed donut. Both are made perfectly, and I’ve realized that Lafeen’s somehow perfects the«sweet, but not too sweet» skill that seems to escape most bakeries. In the future, I’d really like to try something different! They have pumpkin donuts which I was informed are amazing, so I think that’s next on my list. Only reason I give it a 4 is because the employees are just kind of eh. Other than that, I highly recommend Lafeen’s!

Worst experience ever. From the moment I walked in, the guy behind the counter(another customer who came in when I was leaving called him Sean) refused to look me in the eye, or even my general direction. He would move to the other side of the store whenever I walked up to the counter to look at the donuts or the ice cream flavors. I wanted to try two of the flavors, and he acted like I’d shot his dog – and then he wouldn’t give me a spoon with my ice cream, telling me to use the tasting spoon. And for all that, the ice cream was bland and the donut I got tasted like cleaning chemicals instead of chocolate.

Located across the street from Whatcom Falls Park inside the gas station parking lot. You’re hit with a delicious smell of donuts when you walk in. Great donut selection(fritters, bars, claws, etc.) and ice cream too! Got a waffle cone of marionberry pie and I loved the graham cracker pie chunks. There were lots of other flavors to choose from like mint chocolate chip, salted caramel and strawberry. Two waffle cones for $ 6 is a price that can’t be beat. From the reviews it seems like this is the place to go for donuts but it was so hot outside that ice cream seemed like the better choice. Can’t wait to come back and try a donut next time.

Favorite place to go for an after dinner treat. You can generally get a warm donut if you go sometime between 6 – 7. Yum!

Friendly, laid back, and within spitting distance… The donuts are dangerous for this food addict. The smells wafting in the air are simply divine. Buying the dainty donut holes was somehow less decadent than loading up on cruellers, maple bars and a dozen delights… But still wonderfully delicious.

We came here because rocket donuts sold out and we managed to get a few good ones but the star of the show was the buttermilk bar fresh out of the oven and hot it was simply fabulous. I would recommend this place to anyone as far as donuts got was awesome. As a added bonus their coffee is very good as well.

It looks like a sketchy, «meh» kind of doughnut shop set back in a tiny sort-of strip mall behind a has station, but it’s awesome in disguise. Sure, it doesn’t have the innovative and sometimes bizarre flavors of some Seattle and Portland(Voodoo) doughnut shops but it does traditional flavors extremely well — and at an awesome price. I bought 7 doughnuts, a dozen doughnut holes, and coffee for under $ 9. The coffee is $ 1.25 for a small ANDDOUGHNUTHOLESARE $ 1FOR A DOZEN. And let me tell you, these are moist and delicious. Like, 24 hours later the inside of the doughnuts survived a 300-mile road trip and are still moist. I love the buttermilk doughnuts — heavy and sweet! They also have cake doughnuts that are heavier, and those are where flavors get fun. They had blueberry, pumpkin spice, glazed, plain, and cinnamon sugar when I came in. They have traditional doughnuts, pinwheels, «big foot» doughnuts which are fluffy EXTRA large bars, Crème and jelly-filled dough nuts, twists, turn-overs, and more. It’s worth a trip, and since it’s so close to Whatcom Falls Park, I’d suggest making a day of it.

My favorite donut shop since I was a kid. Delicious, fresh, warm, great service, all around just a great experience. Haven’t tried the coffee or ice cream but the donuts are absolute perfection. Ask any local and they’ll tell you what times to go for the freshest batches. Try the bear claws and the apple fritters. A dozen donut holes for a buck is a favorite too. Be aware that like many«local» places, they require a $ 5 minimum to use a credit card.

What makes Lafeen’s spectacular is not their donuts. The donuts are fantastic, not THE best in bellingham but a solid 2nd probably. What makes them fantastic is that they’re open incredibly late so you can get at least the 2nd best, possibly depending on the donut the best in Bellingham at 10pm. That is what makes it fantastic. Add to that some incredibly awesome employees, some dam fine coffee and their baking schedule and you have yourself a perfect 5⁄5 on Unilocal. I love you Lafeen’s, never change!

Whoever invented the donut deserves some kind of medal. C’mon… fried cake with frosting and sprinkles?! Homer Simpson and I don’t have all that much in common, but when it comes to the donut all I can think is, «Mmmm…dooooonuts!» So today while visiting my sister in Bham I had a crazy sweet tooth. With Halloween just 2 days away I’m surprised I haven’t been buying candy by the boat load. It’d been 2 years or so since my last(and first) visit to Lafeen’s and I recall it being just as yummy today as it was before. Fresh donuts of all shapes and sizes were on display like jewelry in glass cases. Crullers, old fashioneds, maple bars, bear claws, you name it, they had it! Unable to walk out with just one donut, I got a few and told myself, «it’s ok, you’ve been working out.» It’s probably a GOOD thing I don’t live in Bellingham…
