American Red Cross Whatcom County Chapter

The American Red Cross offers a variety of emergency training classes. I took one that covered CPR, First Aid and the AED on adults, children and infants. My class was actually a blended class, meaning I took the majority of it online before steping into the classroom. I love this format because (1) it allows you to pre-​test out of watching a lesson, (2) you can review material again that you felt you were weak on, (3) you can work through the pre-​tests, lessons and tests at your leisure over the course of days or weeks based on your schedule, (4) you can download the manual and have access to all of the online videos and lessons for a year so that you can brush up on your skills, and (5) you can still attend a class with an instructor to get your queations answered and practice your skills with manequins and other class members, but in a much shorter period of time than classes in years past.
The only downside with this location is that you have to park and enter the classroom through the alley way and not on King Street. Parking is limited either way, but if you do park at the building on King Street, be aware that you will have to walk around the block to the alley to enter the classroom.
