I am very satisfied with Aida Leon and her daycare services. She has exceeded my expectations. She is currently watching my 1 year old daughter. She’s been with Aida about 4 months now. After starting with Aida, I noticed she was clapping a lot for everything! I asked Aida if she learned this with her and she said yes they clap and sing. One day I asked Aida what my baby does when the older kids play outside. She told me the baby also goes outside becasue she needs sunlight too and it’s good for her. She said she ties a beach towel around her upper chest as support for her while she walks her around the yard and gets to observe and interact with the other kids playing while practicing her walking skills. She told me that it’s her way of exercising her leg muscles to build strength so she can hold her own weight and walk soon. My baby was very skinny and her legs were wimpy. Glad to say my baby is walking now! Unlike other daycares where I had to provide baby/early toddler food for my other daughter, Aida cooks wholesome meals and soups for the kids. She even mashes/blends the food and makes her own baby food!!! She does this and even gives me some to take home for my baby! It smells sooo good I want to eat it! :) She goes out of her way like the time she showed me the container of dry oatmeal she blended into oatmeal flour to add to my baby’s fruit & yogurt breakfast because she said it would hold her stomach better. Later I ended up bringing some baby oatmeal. Aida is very clean and sanitary. When I picked up my daughter with a runny nose. Aida had an industrial size mopping bucket in her hallway getting ready to sanitize and clean. I can tell she keeps the floors clean because my daughters knees are barely dirty from crawling. She runs a very organized and clean daycare. Her dedication and special attention to the needs of my baby are appreciated. I leave for work every morning knowing my baby will be well taken care of.

I’ve been meaning to write an update and was prompted today(Thanks Arlene V.). My son just turned 2 on Saturday so he’s been with Aida for 18 months now. I’ve learned in the last 2 years that routine is paramount. Munchin sees Aida roughly 8 – 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I drop him off, Dad picks him up. In this time, he has learned to name animals, body parts(eyes, nose, knees) and playing with others nicely. I still randomly send my sisters and in laws at various times to pick him up. He always comes home happy and tired. The day care room is always clean and organized. The kids get to go outside every day to run around and play. She shows them how to ride and play with scooters, tricycles and skateboards. We still get daily reports on what he ate, what he did and how he interacted with the other kids as a courtesy. She also asks about what we do at home, what values she enforces there and what she would like us to do at home with the little man. We are awful about having him pick up his toys at home. He has learned to speak Spanish, use a napkin when eating and brushes off his clothes when he is done. We see a HUGE difference between him and other kids at parties and at the playground, quick to engage and make new buddies; all from Aida teaching the kids to play together. He is our only kid so we rarely have other kids around at home that are his age. Aida is in fact raising our son because we are both working parents. In his short life we have witnessed how good she has been to him and love the values and lessons she is instilling in him. I initially wrote the first review because I wanted to scream from the rooftops how happy we were with her but for selfish reasons as well. I don’t want her to retire. I want my son to have more buddies to play with daily. I want parents to know there are caring day care environments out there that will hug your kid if they need a hug and that genuinely care about your childs welfare. She will ask you about every cut, scratch and bruise(blame this on him trying to keep up with his older cousins). We will continue to stay with Aida as long as we can. FYI, we are in no way shape or form related to Aida, just really satisfied parents.

Here’s the skinny: Aida runs an establishment that looks just like a nice house. If you didn’t know what you were looking for, you wouldn’t know it’s a home day care. Pretty flag stones line the walk way, someone with lots of taste custom-did the front area. But as I said, from the street, nothing identifies this as a day care center. However, when you knock on the door, Aida answers the door. She’s a nice woman, middle-aged with clear but accented English(the accent is Spanish). A quick peek inside reveals a very clean and well-organized house. There’s a daily schedule posted with a nutritional calendar as well. Aida is big on nutrition. My nephew has been going here for the last 3 months, and he is happy and well-cared for. I pick him up my nephew here on the odd day that I have time to help my sister out. There is a prescribed list of people allowed to pick up each kid, and she never hands him over unless she’s been introduced to you. Aida always is at the door with him, he’s clean and freshly changed. She hands him over, calls him my handsome man. And then helps me put his bag of dirty clothes and his spare bottles of him breastmilk in my stroller and off we go!
