It’s important to note that Chris & Pitts never tries to be something it’s not. It’s a bit retro as evidenced by its décor. The recipes are just as old and in a modern age where trends are constantly changing, Chris & Pitts gets lost easily. I’ve been coming to this restaurant, one location or another, for two decades. I used to frequent the Anaheim location, but that’s closed now. I order the same food every time, mostly for the comfort. It’s the same flavor it was two decades ago. I’m okay with that some times. Sometimes I want something new; sometimes I want something comfortable. Anyone looking to try Chris & Pitts for the first time should know that they’ll get a good solid meal straight out of a retro bbq joint or truck stop. You won’t get any experimental mango habanero bbq sauces or anything resembling healthy /organic. Know that going in and you’ll like this place just fine. Portion size is large. Most times you’ll take a doggie bag home. I would recommend the blooming onion appetizer and always pick a salad if your meal comes with the option. All of their salad dressings are good choices. They even pack the dressings to go because they’re so popular. Nothing fancy. Old school bbq.

This place is not what it used to be. Quality just isn’t there anymore. Ribs used to be my favorite! But I feel like this isn’t genuine BBQ at all!

Horrible food. My bf and I went here tonight for the first time! He was born and raised in bellflower and never went so we decided to go. Ribs are horrible. Smells and sauce sucks. Never will I go here again. I rather go to McDonald’s. I ordered the full rack to share and we ate one rib each and returned the food and payed for ½ the rack. Customer service was bad also. I have no idea how his place is even open after all these years.

I have been a loyal customer of all of the Chris & Pitts restaurants for my whole life! I’ve never had a bad experience until dinner last night at the bellflower location. I ordered a hamburger with everything on it well done. My son ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium rare… 3 times they gave us the wrong burgers!!! The third time the waitress told me I shouldn’t send it back again! we never got what we ordered and then she charged us full price on top of that!!! Oh and let me also add that they only had about five tables being occupied so it wasn’t even that they were busy! I asked for a discount and whoever the person named Victor was that didn’t even have the customer service ability to come out and speak with me said he’d only take off the price of our two sodas! Big fat ZERO! Tip!!! I also am not going back there again if that’s how they value their customers. Wow 30 $ for the wrong order! Pathetic.

I wasn’t sure about this place when I initially walked in from the initial vibe I got. The food turned everything around though. Meatloaf was delicious! Beans leave something to be desired and the restaurant feels dated but overall, impressed!

I went with friends on a Sunday evening, this was our first time here. The parking lot was pretty bad. I suggest everyone park on the side street to avoid any necessary collisions. We walk in and was greeted right away. I order their special ¼ chicken and 1 rib with a side of french fries and beans. When I got the dish, the waitress never ask if I needed ketchup or anything else. Luckily there was bbq sauce so I use that for the substitute instead of asking for ketchup. The chicken was good but the rib was a bit not fully cook, keep in mind it was«pork» and it didn’t slide right off the bone when you slice the meat or pull it off. All in all expectations was not what I expected.

The food was okay, the service could be a little better, and the parking is a death trap. I ordered a pull pork sandwich and all I can taste was the over powering bbq sauce.

The parking is horrible. Its a tiny lot and can hold about 7 cars. There is extra parking by the Colombus Hall or the street but the street is always packed. This is a smaller location, the staff is friendly and the food was good, but the location is bad. I parked next door by Golden Corral because there was no parking and luckily my car wasn’t towed. Your not supposed to park in their lot, and there is a lot of Will Tow signs but nothing happened. I wouldn’t come back because I like the Downey location better and this location is really small.

Drove inside the parking lot. .got out the car and stepped on someone’s nasty melted gum. Walked inside restaurant. every table had dirty dishes and food from the previous customers. . Immediately walked out. at this point I wasn’t interested in eating here. I’m not rating the food, only the establishment. Poor parking. Their food storage is in the rear parking lot They must be so short staffed but no one had bused the tables. Must get it together

I heard good things about Chris & Pitts. But i was disappointed with the quality of the food. Maybe because i am from Texas, and I expect great BBQ. I ordered the Chicken and Rib plate. It tasted like a broiled chicken smothered in bottled BBQ sauce. Nothing tasty about this chicken. The rib was also tasteless smothered in BBQ sauce. The sides were processed coleslaw. I can tell it was not freshly made but taken out if a bag you buy from some warehouse store. The food didn’t taste bad, its just not my style of BBQ you get from the Southern States. But… the staff was warm and friendly and that made the best part of eating here. Desserts consists of cakes and sundaes. What??? No cobblers or pies??? Parking is tight but I can’t hold that against them. But this beats any fast food place for a quick, okay lunch.

Itz alright! What a lunch bargain! They give a lot of food for $ 10 on their lunch specials. I had their any Jumbo Burger, with cheese and bacon, a side of house salad and a side of French fries. Then I added a coke to the combo. I wasn’t to impressed with the taste of the food or the speed of their service, but what evers because I’m not in a rush on my lunch hour. It’s a better option than going to Carl’s Jr or Mickey-D’s or Jack-in-the-box.

This place straight up looks like a truck stop, red neck, deliverance, road kill serving establishment from the outside. I’ve been coming here since I was in high school. It was cheap tasty BBQ, for a lot of quantity. It’s no Phil’s BBQ or Tulsa Rib Company, but I think it’s pretty damn tasty for what it is. If you get their rib/chicken combo, for $ 18.99, you’ll have a meal for that day, and tomorrow. So basically you have 2 meals for that price, you can’t beat that. Also if you order a salad there, I’m warning you now, you’ll get some salad with your ranch dressing. Ask for the dressing on the side. Parking is a pain in the ass there, but there is a new Golden Corral that opened up next door. If you can sneak a parking spot there, I’d say go for it.

I am going to start with the parking, very tight so park in the street. My mom has been wanting to go so we finally decided to go today. The restaurant is small and décor is very old. It has potential but with the dirty window seals and dead flies on the window seals was a major turn off. I ordered the chicken breast special, I don’t recommend it, it was a special because chicken was very fatty with nerve endings and very bland. The steak fries were good. The garlic bread was stale. However my mom ordered the Texan style sandwich which looked good and she said it was very good. My dad ordered the hamburger with tri-tip. He also said it was very good. I obviously ordered the wrong thing. Our waiter Dorian/Darian was great. He had great customer service and was very attentive; he gets 5 stars. It seems like everyone that works there is friendly and hard working. I would have returned if the restaurant was cleaner. But it was a major turn off. If it was dirty where the customers sit, it made me wonder how does the kitchen look like? I suggest go to another place for reasonably priced BBQ or spend your money and go to Texas for the real BBQ!

Parking, it is extremely tight so unless you drive a smart car, be prepared to maneuver with caution. We were forced to park across the street due to the size of our truck. The ambiance is interesting, a deer head mounted on the wall here, wooden animal carving there etc, you feel as though you’ve stepped into one of those diners that are in the middle of no where, or at least that’s the vibe i got. Our waitress was lovely, she was an older women, attentive and nice. The only questionable thing that made us raise our eyebrows was when she exited the kitchen, she was sucking her fingers as if she might’ve been smacking on food back there. It appeared unsanitary to say the least. The food was a hit and miss. Our salads were drowned in dressing, i reserved my thoughts at the time because after all, Chris’ & Pitt’s weren’t known for their salads right? I ordered an assortment of basically everything: bbq beans, steak, chicken mash potatoes and garlic bread. My daughter had a cheeseburger and fries, they forgot the cheese and their was not one salt on her fries. My steak was okay but my expectations were not met, this was Chris’ & Pitt’s, i was expecting more out of the experience. Instead, my chicken was cold and dry and smothered in this bbq sauce i didn’t care for. The sides were tasty though. Over all, my fiancé and i were disappointed with our experience. I regretfully have to say i personally wouldn’t return.

Chris & Pitts has been around a long time. They are well known for their Steaks, BBQ Ribs and BBQ Sauce. The restaurant is definitely not a fancy place, in fact the interior décor looks like it hasn’t changed since 1969. Let’s talk about their food. Their steaks, baby back ribs, and BBQ chicken are all good. The the best deal though is the Sirloin Steak Special for $ 9.99 with fries or bake potato($ 1 more), garlic toast and also includes your choice of a soup or salad. The service is always great.

This place has its pros and its cons. Visit was on sunday, june 72015 @9pm Pros: food is delicious, not skimpy on portions, service is very good with friendly staff, has a family vibe. Cons: its definitely not a corporate feel, bathrooms could have been cleaner(i feel bad for owner because of knuckleheads that come to this place to tag stupid stuff on property), tables were not as clean as they should be(i had to ask bus boy for towel and after he wiped it down, i had to because he missed a lot), its not a corporate type of environment. Overall, this place is a good spot to come and eat. Just dont expect customer service to be like a 5 star resort. The staff is a «normal and everyday» type of family that will serve you well. Thats what would make it or break it for some people. This environment is completely laid back. I kind of admire it for that. They have been in business for years, so they must be doing something right. Btw, Judy our server was awesome!

Food 5⁄10 Service 4⁄10 Food was mediocre. Nothing special about it. BBQ sauce taste like over-sweetened ketchup. Food also took long(35min party of four) to arrive although the restaurant wasn’t busy. Place is disorganized and out-dated. The menu is a confusing mess. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. The ribs taste better without the sauce!

Like some other Unilocalers, I walked into Golden Carrol and found out the line of people is «no ef-king way I am going to wait for this», I then turned to Chris’ and Pitts’, and it was not a bad choice. The dinning room looks old, so are the waitresses… But the grandma who served my table surely nice and helpful. Ordered their«daily special» $ 9.95 a 7oz sirloin steak with 2 sides(I picked fries and salad), everything taste good. The steak was served on a sizzling iron plate, and it was well prepared.

Love going here for their baby back ribs. $ 24.99. Haven’t been here since the end of Sept 2014. I always get it with fries and baked beans. U can get it with a baked potato, but why would u? The salad is the most crispness of any place I have been too. Even though there is a Golden Corral next door, I would rather go here even though the price for the ribs have gone up. We don’t talk much while eating the baby back ribs here. Delicious. All u hear is me munching and chewing like savages. Not kidding. All business. Would recommend this place.
