First time I got teriyaki here it was tasteless and did not, uh, settle well. Chicken was chewy, veggies were in no way fresh and rice was dry. The second time I got a side salad and they gave me vinegar sugar water for dressing. The fact that I literally work 10 steps from this place isn’t even enought to make me go there ever again.

I’m not sure about these other reviews… maybe I stopped in on a bad day? Stopped by for lunch today — the dining room was completely dead, which was the first warning sign. I ordered the chicken & steak bowl which was comprised of 70% rice, 20% flavorless veggies, and 10% meat. For $ 8. Absolutely the worst teriyaki I’ve had in King County.

I never knew this place existed and I have driven on 148th thousands of times. I came in on Wed night and it was empty. I ordered the special, a chicken bowl with egg roll. I liked it. The egg roll is grilled not fried so it’s kinda soggy. The bowl had rice on the bottom and half veggies and chicken on top. I will definitely come back to try their beef teriyaki and yakisoba.

It was $ 5.63 for a giant vegetarian yakisoba with lots of fresh veggies and a portion size big enough to last for two meals. They have multiple vegetarian options and 363 calorie items on the menu. You can call ahead if you’re in a big hurry… if not, it usually takes 5 – 10 minutes.

I’m amazed that this place is still open after all these years. I haven’t been back since the high school days, when we would eat here once in awhile. Having friends that worked there and knowing the owners ensured that we would keep going back. It’s pretty middle of the road stuff, unless it’s changed drastically, which it doesn’t sound like after browsing other reviews.

pretty good Teriyaki, I love their SUMO bowl, it is on the pricey side now, however, wish the price goes down a bit, so I could eat here more often.

Sorry to contradict that prolific reviewer, Opinionatrix, about Samarai Sam’s, but«nyet» to those teriyaki bowls. An awfully high rice to meat ratio.

We were looking for a quick lunch one afternoon and I found this using mobile Unilocal. The teriyaki sauce is pretty good and the use of vegetables in the dishes was a pretty nice change of pace — I guess it might then count in the good for me category. The pot stickers were deep fried, rather than being steamed and followed up with frying, but they came in a special value meal… The restaurant is colocated with a driving school. We go lucky to get in the parking lot before all the teenagers started driving home and finished lunch after they all left!

This is my favorite teriyaki, bar none. The meat is tender and fresh, the rice is perfect, and the sauce, OH! YUM! They also steam vegetables(carrots, zucchini, etc.) and put them into the teriyaki with the meat, which is delicious, and a wonderful alternative to the standard pale, miserable salad that most teriyaki joints give you. This location is run by a friendly, hard-working family. Their son has been visiting with my daughter every time we go since they were both really little. It’s cute to watch them flirt while we all eat. :-) They offer some non-standard varieties too; the salmon teriyaki is a standout, and you should try it one of these days.
