My experience was horrible. I purchased a gift and wrapping for a wedding. The wrapping was an additional fee and it was the worst wrapping job I have ever seen. It came apart and I wish I had wrapped it myself. The worst part was that it took 25 minutes to wrap the 4 inch by 6 inch gift with no other customers in the store. I am beyond unimpressed.

It’s very, very hard for me to visit Paper Source and not want to buy everything. Heck, it even makes me wish I knew how to craft! I love stationary, so enjoy browsing through the quirky greeting cards to stock up on, as well as office accessories. They have a good collection of small gift items, too, which is the kind of thing that when I spot something there, I am reminded of a friend for whom to buy that spotted item for. They have something for everyone! I also love the Rifle Paper Co. items they carry, especially the calendars. Paper Source staff can also help you customize personal stationary, as well as wedding invitations. If you sign up for their e-mail list you will occasionally get 20% coupons on purchases.

This review is about Paper Source classes, not the shopping experience at the store(which I love). I love paper crafts and frequently take classes to improve my skills. I’m inspired by learning from other knowledgeable crafters so I was excited to get a spot in the Paper Source’s popular hand lettering class. What a disappointment. The young instructor was friendly and good at hand lettering. Unfortunately, she was not equipped to teach a class on it. Her«teaching» method was to demonstrate something once and tell us to practice. After about 15 – 20 minutes she would demonstrate something else and tell us practice again… that was the entire class. She didn’t once look at any of the participants work, offer suggestions, or teach a thing. If asked a specific question she’d suggest we buy a book to see how to do it. I basically paid for a sales pitch for Paper Source books, pens, notebooks, paper, and a list of Instagram sites for calligraphers. Bottomline: Do NOT waste your money on the Paper Source’s hand lettering class. Take a class from a professional who cares about teaching about their craft. I’ve taken great classes at Impress and Dolce Impressions, and am excited to try an upcoming class at One Heart Studio.

We ordered our save the dates in-store on January 16. The staff was extremely helpful in picking out just the right design, color, etc. We selected expedited shipping so they would be delivered by the last week in January. The staff assured us this would be the correct shipping option if we wanted them quicker. Now I don’t blame the in-store staff for the problem we had…1 week passed by and we didn’t hear a peep from the online Paper Source team at all. I emailed their customer service 1⁄21 and did not hear anything back until 1⁄28. Customer service apologized for the delay and promised to upgrade our order to 2-day shipping to ensure a delivery date of 2⁄3. Still late, but at this point I was happy they upgraded the shipping for free. Well, we received tracking last night and they never upgraded the shipping. So now they are shipping the conventional ground method. Not sure why we paid extra for expedited… also not sure why we were promised one step higher than expedited and didn’t even get that. Very upsetting. And in order to match our save the dates, we planned to order our invites through them as well… let’s hope they do a better job on those.

Paper source is a great place for wrapping papers — let me get that out in the open immediately. They have a great number of styles from quirky to formal or geomettric — you name it. What I don’t appreciate is the unbelievable exorbitant amount they asked for wrapping a gift. It cost me $ 10 for ‘the service’. No, really — ten actual dollars. I mean, there was nothing particularly fancy about the way it was wrapped it either, I would have been able to do worse only if I was two, or perhaps physically challenged and drooling. On top of that, I was actually informed that it would be extra for ribbons. The only reason I actually went through with the whole damn thing was that I felt it would be rude to. Go here if you don’t mind forking over for wrapping paper, but STEERCLEAR of the ‘wrapping service’.

Paper Source is a stationery store located at Lincoln Square. Though it is no longer in the main building. They used to be in the corner space on Bellevue Way and NE8th, but that space is now an AT&T store. Instead, they have moved down the street into the old ExOfficio store space near the Westin. The store has a sizable selection of greeting cards, stamps and stationery items. There are also some random items by the pay counter too like candies. In the back of the store is a section for customized envelopes and cards for weddings and other formal events. The vibe of the store is very chill. The staff lets you browse on your own without pressure. If you need help, just ask. I came here looking for a wedding card since I didn’t want to pick up the usual American Greetings/Hallmark cards from the drugstore. The selection here was okay. Prices are higher than if you go the drugstore route. I didn’t find many options that matched the occasion and message that I wanted to convey. Just one, but I guess that is all you need. If you are looking for unique greeting cards, Paper Source is a decent option. Though I would suggest checking out Papyrus and Etsy as well for similar card offerings.

Let’s start off by saying that I am absolutely positively a stationary, crafting, office supply nerd. I love it all — which is why the Paper Source is a bit of a mecca for me. They recently moved to a new location which is a little smaller, but appropriate for their store. When you first walk in you are always immediately greeted by some of the best gift ideas you can find. They have tables that are filled to the brim with wonderful trinkets. They also have one of the hands-down best collections of cards. They have the best cards for almost every single location you can think of. A few of my favorite stationers that they feature include Rifle Paper Company, Emily McDowell and 1Canoe2. Okay let’s talk about the staff. How are they always so nice, helpful and happy? Every single person that I have talked to here has been genuinely really nice, which is always a pleasant surprise. They are ALWAYS willing to help you find exactly what you are looking for. They help make the whole experience infinitely better. Plus: they showed me how to heat emboss. If you are ever in the store, you can ask for a demo of heat embossing and even do it yourself. They have a station permanently set up to the left of the entrance. Oh! And if you sign up for their e-mails, they often have discounts and coupon codes that you can use online as well as in the store. I’ll be back, and let’s be honest, probably pretty soon.

Beautiful and creative paper and supplies for the pickiest of writers and designers. I love Paper Source. The quality of the paper and notecards is hard to match anywhere else. The selection is original, fun and will encourage your creativity. Calendars notecards letters stationary stamps gifts journals I go seasonally to see what is new in stock and update my materials for business and keeping in touch. Excellent staff.

Really appreciated the customer service I received at Paper Source today. I had made a purchase which was not rung up correctly. When I called to explain what happened, I was fully expecting I’d have to go back to the store to correct the mistake. Thankfully, the associate was able to calculate and process my refund over the phone and then emailed my receipt. Thank you, Paper Source, for saving me a trip back to your store!

This is the go-to place to get that extra special wrapping paper for that special someone. A lot more spacious here than their University Village, but parking’s tougher too. Similar to Papyrus, though may not have the breadth of products. Still, they offer wedding cards, etc. open late too, for the area, it’s a great idea, ppl are willing to spend $ here.

This review pertains to online photo card orders. DONOTORDERFROMPAPERSOURCE! The website may say they’ll ship in «1−2 days.» This is a lie. I ordered December 1 and my cards still had not shipped by Dec. 13. Furthermore, there is no customer service department. There are a few people who occasionally answer phones in Chicago. Sometimes you get voicemail instead. There is no supervisor there. They outsource printed card orders so can’t tell you what is going on with your order. There is no tracking information. They’ll look into it and call you back, they say. They do not call you back. They will expedite your shipping. Then the next person you talk to after a 20 minute hold time will tell you that it’s not possible to expedite shipping. It’s a rinky dink operation. If you expect to get your hands on your cards within a month of your order, DONOTBRINGYOURBUSINESSTOPAPERSOURCE!

LOVE the new location and layout! It’s very open and bright and visually appealing(Let’s be honest though, when is Paper Source not?!) This store has great paper products, unique gift items and so much more. Everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful. I especially love Molly because she is so knowledgeable and fun :)
