Hampton Inn Chicago-Midway Airport

Who knew hotels near Midway were so nice? Very friendly staff even as there were too many people checking in at once. Super clean. Good coffee and ok breakfast. Exercise room a bit of sun over promise but it gave me an excuse to not work out.

THE BEST SOUTHWEST HOTEL IN CHICAGO. Very clean and up to date rooms. Awesome guest services. They have a swimming pool gym, complimentary breakfast. Just the perfect home away from home. I will highly recommend this place to anyone. It’s my first choice. Make it yours you want regret it. Thanks Hampton Inn

Rooms are very clean, breakfast is fresh and has a lot of options.
Staff is extremely kind and helpful. I called around 1am after a long travel day, the shuttle was easy to catch from midway airport and was fast. Mary was extremely kind at 2pm and truly turned my challenging day around.
The shuttle runs from the airport every 20 min starting at 4am.

This hotel is very close to the Midway Airport and Chinatown in Chicago, IL. Surprisingly, it is located among other hotels. My main dislike about this hotel is that self-​parking in their lot is $ 17 /​night with this paper ticket to put by the windshield. The best thing I liked about this hotel is the adjoining room. Also, my friend reserved and got me a refrigerator and microwave for my room.
I missed the complimentary evening cookies (as I was in a hurry), but got the complimentary newspaper.
The continental breakfast was very good — Belgium waffle, various fresh fruit, scramble eggs, yogurt, etc. I like their variety of juices such as the unique pineapple. I did not care for the juice of the mix fruit.
The king bed had a bed tray on it (unique idea). There was a night light in the bathroom. I did not care for the Neutrogena soap. Beware that the hair dryer is in a bag.
We could not hear the airplanes but heard the sound of the blinds.
The hotel has two computers and printer in the hallway by the elevator for guests to use; it would have been better if it was in a private room. The public restroom was appealing. A few amenities are available with at their partner hotel.
The reason for my rating is because the $ 200 total night stay is just so expensive for what I got. Another hotel in the area was a better choice if it was available.

When my flight at Midway was cancelled i immediately reached for Unilocal.This hotel came up with good reviews so i decided to go with it. I was pleasantly surprised! I have stayed at Hampton Inn many times but never in an «airport hotel» so despite the reviews I was still nervous. It was really nice, up to date, clean, friendly staff and quiet. Pretty good complimentary breakfast in the morning too. A d of course the free shuttle bus was convenient. Five minutes to and from the terminal. Would stay here again.

Too tired to go into much detail. Wish I could just hit record on my phone so you can hear what I have to listen to in the middle of the night. A high pitched screeching noise, consistently going from about 1:30am on. Called the front desk and the lady said it is from a train cargo hub nearby and they are probably moving trains and cargo around. It is the worst, high pitched noise you can imagine. Will never stay at this Hilton property again. Can’t believe people are made to suffer through this all night.

We had a great stay. Staff is friendly and informative. The complimentary breakfast had a nice variety, and was very good. We would definitely stay here again.

I recently had a fantastic stay here. I flew into Chicago late and chose to stay close to the airport. This airport was close and very reasonably priced. I am glad that I made this choice. The hotel shuttle was very quick and made the trip over easy. The front desk was fantastic, answering my questions about the area attractions and taking the time to tell me a little more about the city. The room was very clean and I was very happy with it. This was a five star experience and I will definitely stay here again.

I think I will be breaking up with this particular Hampton. I was so pleased with them the past couple times I stayed. However, now it seems that the clientele there is mainly hookers and people who are partying. Stayed there on Friday night, had an early flight Saturday morning. Check in was fine, excellent customer service and great conversation with young woman at front desk who was so enthusiastic and wonderful. Things went downhill from there. We were on the fourth floor and around 1:30am the noise began. People running up and down the hall yelling. At 3:30am our neighbors began blasting their music. Our rooms were separated by an in-​room door, so that added to the noise. Honestly, unless the hotel is sold out, why put people in adjoining rooms like that? Had to call the front desk twice. The first time, they tried calling our neighbors room. We could hear the phone ringing, but the music continued. They sent security up, twice, and finally they music stopped. By then it was 5am.
On very little sleep we went down to enjoy the free breakfast. There was one guest wandering around barefoot at the buffet. I know this isn’t the Ritz, but seriously, I do not want to look at someone’s barefoot over breakfast at a hotel. Some 20-​something guy was sleeping on the couch in the lobby all slouched over. I do not think he was a guest. He looked like he was from the neighborhood. One of the employees went over and woke him up, she obviously knew him, you could tell from their interaction. He then got out his iPod and cranked up his music. So loud you could hear it even though he was wearing EarPods.
Next came what appeared to be the parade of hookers. Two young women, barely dressed, came wandering in out of the parking lot and helped themselves to breakfast. One of them was wearing a dress that was more off than on. They ran back and forth from the parking lot to the buffet at least twice. They interacted with the front desk staff a bit. It made me wonder if the staff knew these girls.
Our final view of the Hampton Midway was the overflowing trash can in front of the hotel where we waited for the shuttle to pick us up.
I complained to Mary Ann when we checked out and I did get a phone call from Maggie (?) the front desk manager once we landed back in California. They will comp us the cost of our room, given our less than satisfactory stay. Seriously doubt we will continue patronizing this particular Hampton.

The airlines picked this hotel for us due to flight complications leading to an overnight in Chicago but what a great choice. The modern look is catchy and comfortable from the lobby, rooms and etc.
Location: If you need lodging near MDW (airport) this is a great choice. Only 5 minutes away, which equates to a $ 9.00 cab ride from the airport to the hotel. However if you want to save a few dollars the hotel has a free ²⁴⁄₇ shuttle. We decided to avoid the rush of our fellow displaced airline patrons flooding the shuttle and front desk and took a cab.
Service: Outstanding! Came in late in the evening and found pleasant and helpful staff get us situated with our room, wash/​shave kits, checkout and breakfast hours.
Room: Great look and situated in a way that they have good utility.
Beds/​Pillows: Very comfortable and dressed with quality linens. Absolutely no complaints.
Bathroom: Spotless, well decorated and plenty of towels (wash, hand and bath). All of which (towels) were soft, clean and easily grabbed from the shower.
Amenities: Free shuttle service, free internet, great coffee bar for early morning Joe, (love that french vanilla creamer), good workout room with treadmills, elliptical, etc., and free breakfast that included: eggs, smoked summer sausage, potatoes, oatmeal with all the fixens, waffles, fresh fruit and more.
Overall: I travel quite a bit, usually 2 times a month for a few days each trip, and I found this Hampton Inn to be fantastic for a mid-​level hotel. Now don’t expect the amenities of the Ritz Carlton or Intercontinental but to be honest the helpfulness of the staff and the comfort of beds at this hotel is better than plenty of the higher priced hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, etc) that I’ve stayed at across the country.
When I come back to Chicago, and if I’m located around the airport for work, I will definitely be back, 5 Stars.

The hardest part about getting here was driving up north on Cicero Avenue from the Freeway. I wrongly trusted my colleague’s smart phone mapping app directions as I could have arrived here faster on my own Chicago instincts.
The Hampton Inn (part of the Hilton chain) is part of a «Motel Mall» just a few blocks from Midway Airport. There’s a single shuttle that serves all these places, but you could almost walk to MDW on your own. We had the car and with validation (and a slip on the dash), parking was free. Please also be aware that dining/​bar options are also limited in these parts unless you can drive and know ahead of time where you’re going.
For a single night stay before the flight leave the next day, this was a very good lodging experience. The room was clean and comfortable, Wi-​Fi was strong and free, the shower was robust with good product, and the front office staff were very helpful and engaging. I enjoyed the free breakfast as well, although I agree that an earlier «grab and go» option would be helpful for all the early checkouts (of which I noticed several, including flight crew).

They need an earlier breakfast grab-​and-​go option for those heading out on early flights. Coffee cups are small. Bathroom was spotless. Beds comfortable. Nothing to write home about, but I had a comfortable night’s rest.

We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Hampton Inn Chicago-​Midway Airport. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay incredibly enjoyable. Breakfast featured so many hot and cold choices and was different each day, making staying there more than one day all the more enjoyable. The breakfast and front desk staff were very, very friendly and made us feel like we were at home. Our room was nicely furnished with a renovated look featuring fun colors and nice, dark woods. The bed was very comfy and we could tell that the pillow cases, sheets and comforter were washed each day. The hotel was just a short shuttle trip away from the airport and train station with service to and from 24 hours a day, making it very convenient. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all of our friends!

Manager Tony worked with us on the bill and gave allowance for the filth and noise of construction. They never should have torn up rooms adjoining paid guest rooms. Kudos to Tony for making the best of a bad situation.

We were there 11÷6÷13 this hotel is under construction. We checked in at 3pm, went to our room and all we heard was sawing & hammering until about 5:30. Went next door to get away from the noise and ate at TGIFridays. I needed to do laundry BAD and found out they don’t have a guest laundry there, super bummed!!! I think this is the first Hampton that we have been to without one, and we stay at about 300 hotels a year. Bed was comfortable, furnishings are nice. Shuttle runs 24/​7, loved that. Woke up at 3am to get shuttle at 4am and jumped into shower. The water was cold for the first 8 min. Then it warmed up but man i was thinking they forgot to hook up the hot water pipe. Missed breakfast so can’t comment on that. Overall 3 stars for price, no guest laundry, cold water. I would think while under construction this place would be cheaper then $ 170 a night.

My stay at the Hampton at midway was very nice. 1^st time I ever seen fresh coffee set up in the lobby. I real nice touch.
The Room, Roomy, and nice. Clean. I liked the mirrors in the bathroom. They are angled so you can see your front side and your back side at the same time. I’m looking good! :)
The bedding. They have a hand written post it note to let you know all the bedding has been cleaned. The bed looked very intrigging. The pillows and the sheets were of the highest quality. The bed and linins were the best quality I have ever slept on.
Flat screen TV.
Then they have a hot breakfast downstairs included. it was very nice also. They had biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs. Waffle maker too.
I would go back!

I’m a big fan of Hampton Inn and this location was no different. I visited in early July, so visually, the exterior looked a lot better than the photo on this page. The dreary look of the photograph makes the hotel look older and run-​down. Not the case. Even if I had my concerns from the outside, everything was fine once I stepped in to the bright and cheery lobby.
Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. They accommodated my early check-​in and that made everything much more convenient for me. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. This seems to be the case at all the Hampton Inns I visit. Bathroom was large. TV worked well. There was a big desk and large couch.
The breakfast was standard and just like all other Hampton Inn free breakfasts. Really great perk — but not the best food you’re ever going to have. Either way, fits the bill and makes the hotel even more convenient and affordable.
A note about the location: Super close to Midway. Probably about .5 miles, if that. I was concerned about location, but I felt safe here — and I am a young woman traveling alone, so that says a lot. The Hampton Inn is situated within a complex that includes a bunch of other hotels, as well as a TGIFridays, an Irish Bar and a Starbucks. There’s also a hotel shuttle.
All in all, very convenient. I would return here if I needed to be close to the airport (vs. in the city). Since I was on a work trip, this fit the bill. If you are trying to go into the city, you can take the shuttle to the airport then jump on the L. Otherwise, it’d probably be a 25 – 30 cab ride.

As hotels go this is the typical hotel but what makes it better is the staff. They will print your boarding passes and deliver them to your room. They are always there to help you and that means a lot with the shuttle to the airport. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Sound levels were fairly low even with Cicero outside of our window. As to being near the airport, low levels of noise due to aircraft. The breakfast area is clean and the breakfast items are replenished quickly.
The rates always seem to be lower than center city and the only down side if the time spent with the shuttles and the train ride.
Free wifi worked very well and had decent speed.
Sufficient restaurants in the area if you want to stick around the hotel, but why would you want to do that… there’s a big city out there.

This is a good option in the Midway hotel campus — a decent hotel with a reasonable price tag. We had one of the two corner King rooms– which are the biggest rooms in the hotel. These rooms are fantastic — more room than we could possibly need, and for the same price as a regular room. Bed, couch, arm chair, TV/​dresser, desk, chair, mini fridge, microwave, and min coffee maker. The bathroom was large and fully functional. I would say that the bathroom and the wallpaper in the room were the two areas where the hotel showed some wear and tear, but everything was clean and in working order.
The lobby is quite nice, a great place to wait for the shuttle or enjoy the complimentary hot breakfast is served every morning. Not the best breakfast in the world — but your standard cereal, bagels, french toast sticks, biscuits & gravy, kinda-​scary-​looking-​cheese-​omelets, make-​your-​own-​waffles and fresh fruit. The hotel has great service — the check-​in desk staff are very friendly and the hotel shuttle drivers are also great and efficient for travel to Midway or the Midway public transportation stop.
This hotel does not have a bar or restaurant of its own, but there are bars and restaurants in the other hotels of the Midway hotel campus. Everything is within walking distance — so no worries there. There is also a Starbuck’s in the next closest hotel across the parking lot. Being close to a Starbuck’s is always a bonus for me :)
