Safelite AutoGlass

I had my front windshield replaced today. I was told it would be 1.5−2 hours, it ended up taking 3.5 hours because the glass they had for my vehicle had a scratch in it and they needed to get another one from their warehouse. Needless to say I was irritated because I have better things to do then sit in an office and wait for my window to be repaired on a Saturday. I didn’t complain but I was visibly perturbed. To my surprise they gave me a discount for my troubles and I didn’t even ask for one. I would say in the future they should inspect their windows before they start working on that customers car. Besides that I think they did the right thing and I will be back for other window repairs in the future if needed.

Easy — Best way to explain it. Filed an insurance claim online for a broken windshield, allowed me to schedule a time for drop off or mobile team, and everything was set up with no charge. Dropped my car off at 10, they called me when it was done (earlier than the 1.5 hours they estimated), and explained some guidelines and said how they vacuumed the car and washed all windows. Carpets and seats were spotless and the inside the car smelled nice and clean. I am positive they wiped down the dash. Oh, and I got a new set of windshield wipers, which I needed.
Would definitely recommend for anyone in need of a windshield replacement or repair. A+

i have a 2012 VW Passat, it started with a small rock chip that spread to a huge crack. I had to have the whole windshield replaced. i made my first appointment and they ordered the glass. arrived for the first appointment and let them know i would be back for the car and to call when it was ready. about 2.5hrs later i received a call letting me know the car was ready. when i arrived i was informed that the a pillar fabric was damaged while pulling the original glass out of the car… they stated they would replace it free of charge with an OEM volkswagon part.
i then went to the dealer to get new wiper blades for the car since this car at the time had no after market wipers available. i got to the dealer and while they were installing the new wipers they noticed a huge deformity in the glass what looked to be a large bubble in the top drivers side of the glass. i immediately took the car back to satellite auto glass i showed them the bubble and asked them why this was not noticed upon install and why the installed it anyways.
they stated they would replace the window… so i made another appointment and this time i waited for the car to be completed. they also at this time replaced the pillar piece that had been damaged in the install. once the glass was installed everything appeared to be good… until it rained the car has auto wipers that with this glass no longer works i fought with safelite about the issue with no resolve and just lived with the problem. about 5 months later i was washing the car and notice a huge crack at the bottom of the window under where the wipers rest.
i then took the car back in and they stated the window indeed was cracked from the underside caused from stress which was covered under warranty so here i am again waiting for another window to be installed in the car. i would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Hey guys– I’m glad you can get away with charging people $ 500 for a project that costed me $ 130… Wait no I’m not– this is a huge rip off

Benny came to my home to fix a cracked windshield. He was unable to begin when he arrived due to issues with insurance that needed to be confirmed prior to beginning the job. Throughout this process, Benny was patient, professional, and knew what he could and could not do — boundaries! I appreciated how he handled the delay, and also his professional attitude throughout the process. Thank you Benny!

I am very upset about the terrible process this has been for me to get my windshield replaced by a vendor (Safelite) that Progressive Insurance has endorsed. You have twice now installed cheap and inferior quality glass into my car that has cracked during installation. Not only has this been a huge waste of my time and stressful trying to deal with appointments and insurance — but most importantly it is extremely unsafe and hazardous. Both windshields have cracked so badly they are a major safety hazard if I get in an accident (much worse than the original crack you are trying to fix.) that I was afraid to let my son ride in the front seat because of it. Both cracks have expanded across the entire length of both windshields.
What is equally alarming is the price you are charging for the this cheap glass and Progressive is apparently allowing this as well. With some quick research I discovered that I can get OEM glass installed in my Forester with new molding for a total of $ 581.35 AT THE DEALERSHIP. While Safelite was planning on charging $ 650 for the cheap useless glass that keeps cracking when you install it.
Today I called to discuss my concerns with Safelite, and spoke to a manager who could care less about any of this. He just kept saying, «sorry, there is nothing I can do» with no accountability of Safelite’s total failure in providing safe and reliable products, not to mention the gigantic waste of time and frustration that this process has been for me. And now, at the end of the business day an executive manager has NOT called me back to discuss as was promised by the middle manager who couldn’t.
I will be writing Unilocal and other social media reviews to let everyone know the shabby product that Safelite is installing in peoples cars as well as the lack of tangible reimbursement (that is, a significant discount against the cost of replacing my windshield) for MY wasted time and effort in getting my car fixed.
I cannot trust Safelite to install the safe and reliable glass and I am cancelling my appointment with you on Friday. I will have my windshield replaced by my dealership. At least I can trust them.
(24 hours after I sent this email I have still not had a response from Safelite so I am posting it to Unilocal — perhaps that will get their attention.)

Please confirm that you are elevating this situation up to management level and I do not have to do anything. Thank you.

The crack went from about 6 inches to almost all the way across my windshield in an unnervingly fast 24 hours.
It is alarming the cheap quality of product that Progressive is allowing to be put into their customers’ vehicles. Equally alarming is the price companies are charging for the this cheap glass and Progressive is apparently allowing this as well. Upon some research (a current customer of yours) determined that I can get OEM glass installed in my Forester with new molding for a total of $ 581.35 AT THE DEALERSHIP. While Safelite was planning on charging $ 650 for the cheap useless glass that keeps cracking when they install it.
In conclusion — I am asking Progressive to honor my policy and pay for 100% of my glass installation. At this point the glass you are replacing was cracked on Tuesday October 20, 2015. This will now be the third attempt by your vendor to replace my windshield (with OEM glass and gasket — as you stated in our phone conversation).
The alternative is that I and my fiancée, a three policy holder with your company, will cancel a total of four policies that we presently have with you. And we will be writing Unilocal and other social media reviews with our concerns about the apparent collusion between glass installers and insurance companies and the unsafe glass being installed in people’s cars.
I have been a Progressive customer for a very long time now and have generally been happy with the service you have provided for me. It is my expectation that I will receive your response within the next 2 – 3 business days on this matter.

Great service. Went out of their way to put the collision wrap on until the glass was in. Jason came to our house and put the window in. He called to confirm the appointment time and he was on time. He did a very nice, clean job.

Terrible! Requested OEM glass, they said they didn’t have it but the windshield they would install comes from the same manufacturer, so it will be the same and look the same. They when installed my windshield, it was not the same. The weather strip was completely different, making my luxury car have a different look from what it was before. Their fix? They did have OEM, and it would cost 2x as much. Terrible service!
I will never use these people again. Oh, and while waiting in their «waiting area» the TV was set to a religious CBN network show, ‘The 700 Club’ which would not be changed. Completely unprofessional.
Go anywhere else but this place if you need windshield, they are terrible!

The front desk person was nice. The service time was understandably reasonable and they were very accommodating with amenities like bottled waters, TV, coffee station and magazines to read while waiting. Very convenient there was a comic book shop close by so the time went by pretty fast :)

Chad and the people were awesome. The parts for my window didn’t come in and Chad drove to the dealer and got the parts so that I would have my car in time. It was so nice. I was so happy my car was ready on time. They went above and beyond to get my window fixed. I highly recommend this place.

I came here back in August and was very pleased with the speed of service and how great my windshield looked from a small crack. I got another chip in my windshield recently and took it back and they took care of it in 30 minutes (with an appointment I made just one day prior). It’s quick, affordable and the guys are really nice. Will definitely recommend.

We got a big chip on the windshield on our first day of a long road trip. With fluctuating weather conditions (–4 °F to high 60s) and defroster running, I didn’t want to risk turning a chip into a giant crack. I scheduled an appointment online and arrived at the Beaverton location the following morning. They were busy yet still finished the job within 30 minutes, and the chip is now barely visible. Safelite is not the cheapest glass repair shop, but it’s worth every penny to have a reliable brand doing consistent quality of work in a professional and speedy manner even in a completely unfamiliar neighborhood. Our trip could have been a disaster without them.

Had a cracked windshield replaced about a week ago. I had initially stopped at another glass place nearby and got a quote that seemed very reasonable, then called safelite just to compare. Their initial quote was a bit higher, so I mentioned that to the rep and he was able to apply a discount that dropped it even lower than my first quote! It is a bit odd, when you call, you speak to an out of state call center to set up the appointment (at least I did, although I was calling on a Saturday) but then again, Im not sure I would have been offered the same discount if I had talked to someone local. Anyway, they worked with my schedule and even offered to come to me if i wanted. I chose to have the work done at the shop, which was a good experience as well, the person at the desk and the installer were very professional. Took about an hour and a half to replace it… very easy.

You can’t reach their Beaverton office directly by phone — it routes you to a call center who refuses to let you speak to someone at the Beaverton Safelite store, to even see what times they have available. Bad service and bad system.

Finally got my whole back Window replaced after some a-​hole smashed it in. I went to safelite and they did a great job.
Part of my purchase wasn’t covered in their store but the website had an error that said it was. They were really cool about it, they called the part in and replaced it anyway.
Anybody ever needs glass repair, definitely look into safelite. They put in the extra effort to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible.

Great and convenient service. Richard fixed my chipped windshield while I was at work so well it almost entirely disappeared. He also vacuumed my floor mats and cleaned the windows. I would highly recommend.

My rear view mirror fell off and they hooked me up by putting it back on for FREE! I had never used SafeLite before but if I ever need any windshield repair done will be sure to use them. Thanks for providing upstanding service!

had a rock chip, called at 11AM on a Friday to see if they do mobile repair and would come to my house to fill the crack. they worked directly with Allstate and had an appointment same day to come to my house and perform the repair directly in my garage. Repair guy shows up promptly at 2PM the *same day* and completed the job in 10 minutes. I never had to leave, paid not a dime (insurance) and the repair was great and could barely see where the chip was.

Wow! This is the second time I“ve used them, and am always impressed. Nikki, my glass person was super SUPER (it deserves another) super helpful and nice. She acted like it just made her day to help me and fix my glass.
When she called to tell me she was there, I answered the phone and said, «how are you?» and she said: Awesome! And I think she meant it.
Not only did she fix my glass so I couldn’t see the crack (it was tiny), but she came TO ME at work, vacuumed my car floors, and washed the window… all while charging me NOTHING.
(I did get her to install some new wipers while she was there for ~$ 20, the rest was charged to my insurance at ZERO hassle to me.
I’m a huge huge fan.
