This was an amazing bowl of phở. Best stuff in town… easily the second best in all of Portland and its battling for 1st

Best, most delicious Phở EVER! I have had my share of Phở over the years and this place, hands down, has the tastiest. Clear, delicious broth, hot with great meats! The potstickers are outstanding and the lemongrass chicken platter is not to be missed. This is a family favorite!

I had lunch here today and had the beef phở and Shrimp Salad rolls. The salad rolls were good, the beef phở only so-so. It wasn’t too flavorful and some of the«beef» was mysterious to me and I didn’t eat it. My lunch guest went for the Chinese shrimp with lobster sauce, which was really good and a much better choice. Waiter service was only so-so, too. I love phở, but likely wouldn’t visit this restaurant again. Too many other good phở restaurants to choose from.

Went here recently to check this out. I was in this area early so I thought I catch an early lunch around 11am. I’ve been to Best Baguette next door many times but I thought I would check this place out. Nice, clean and service was good at that time. Ordered the vermicelli bowl with pork and egg roll. I forgot what # the dish was. But it was super tasty and it totally hit the spot. Noodles were perfect, meat was cooked just right and the egg roll was crunchy. Fish sauce on the side was tasty as well. Meal comes with hot tea too, nice touch for a rainy day. Glad I came in to check it out… I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Happy eating!

Good, friendly service. Big, hot bowl of chicken phở hit the spot. I also enjoyed the veggie spring rolls. I will likely return.

I went here today for a group work lunch. I had the cashew chicken. The food was great for the price. I will be back to try their phở!

Funny, similar to my previous review, the portions were off. There was plenty of meat in a small #2, but it ran out of noodles! I really wanted to have more with what was left, but it was all meat, basil, sprouts and onion. Luckily I had ordered one that came with four meats so I could switch those around and have enough variety with the side ingredients. The first half of the bowl was great, and I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to. The second half seemed to have more beef than green onion. I clearly am still venturing here, and I’m usually enjoying it.

I thought Phở Hoa Hong was pretty tasty and the prices certainly fair. An order of Phở, Spring Rolls, and General Tso’s all came to around $ 18.50. Not bad and certainly quite a bit of food! The staff here is nice… a little slow but certainly friendly. I appreciate that they give you hot tea along with your water. It was very good! The beef in my phở had quite a bit of fat on it… reminder to stick strictly to round steak. The broth was pretty flavorful with plenty of add ins on the table. I like my Phở extra spicy! The Spring rolls were quite greasy/oily. I might opt for the salad roll next time around. They were simply OK. All in all I am glad I found this spot. I was pleasently surprised with all of the options they had!

I really like this place. The service is always good and the food is equally good. They have to be one of the only places that does pan asian really well. I always got vietnamese and loved it but recently ordered some of their chinese fare and it was actually very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in Beaverton as it is the best on the west side.

I had the phở tai nam and lemongrass chicken rolls. I like this place. The people are nice and the service is quick. They now serve Chinese food also.

This is my go to place when my Vietnamese genes are being over-expressed. With my mom 3,000 miles away, I appreciate having traditional dishes(phở, bun, yellow curry, etc) available at my finger tips. It’s not mom’s quality but it’s close enough! Oh, if you’re going to get the phở, ask for the raw beef on a separate plate. Then you can fondu your meat like a gangster.

I live down the street and have felt obligated recently to give this place a shot since it is so close to me. I’m pretty set on my nearby Phở restaurants, Tan Tan and Phở Hung. After trying Phở Hoa Hoang I say to stick to those if you’re looking for Phở in the Beaverton area. The prices are cheap, $ 6 bucks for a Dac Biet(special), but the adage«you get what you pay for» reigns very true. The service upfront was very quick, almost too quick as I felt hurried most of the time. The soup wasn’t hot, which is a big no no to me when it comes to Phở, the bowl should be hot and steamy upon arrival. The standard veggie and herb plate was not fresh, the sprouts and lime wedges were wilted. Two of the most basic things, probably the easiest and most impressionable were missed out of the gate. The broth was so so, I found myself adding a lot of Hoisin, typically I try to add as little as possible, if the broth is done right. I gave 1 star for the price and it’s decency, but I would not recommend this to any of my friends. Drive or walk a couple blocks and go to Tan Tan or Phở Hung.

Six bucks for a nice, hot bowl of tastiness on a cold, rainy day? That’s hard to beat. I certainly can’t say it’s the best phở I’ve ever had, but it’s far from the worst. The dining room is clean and I was in and out well within the 45 minutes I’m allotted for lunch. I’ll definitely be patronizing this place on a regular basis.

Should i subtract a star since their 5 dollar phở is now 6 dollars? i guess i would if it wasn’t still cheapest phở around here. Now with cheap phở you’d expect lesser quality. I’m happy to know that they didn’t skimp on flavors. though the broth is a strong spiced flavor where the anise really sings out. They were careful not to make it to overpowering. Everything else seems to be the typical phở, noodles and beef and of course herbs. Definatly a gem that is found this week. A cheap phở place that is good. I’m looking forward in coming here some more. they also have«banh bot chien trung» A flour that is pan fried with eggs. I don’t know how it’s prepared or i’d describe it more. They were out but i’m looking forward in grabbing some next time.

I found this place doing a Unilocal search for«bun rieu» and went here for lunch. The other 2 Vietnamese places I’ve tried here in Portland didn’t have it on the menu. Sure enough, I see it on the menu(which has every item in full color pictures, btw) and order it. What is interesting about this place is that there are everyday $ 5 specials on many popular dishes(rice plates, noodles and soup dishes) so if you have little money and want to eat decently, this is a good place to try. The bun rieu was delicious; I nearly ate everything in the bowl(including the soup). The side order of cha gio was nice and crispy but I was a little disappointed in my soda xi muoi(which arrived pre-mixed in those sealed plastic boba cups with a straw stuck through it) because they put too much sugar in it… I mean, normally if it has too much sugar, I just keep adding more soda water to it from the can that I’d get along with my glass but because this came pre-mixed and sealed inside a cup, I couldn’t do anything to it(for that matter, the iced coffee also came pre-mixed, sans percolator, inside those cups too). The restaurant is pretty nice looking and clean and we had a friendly server who kept refilling the water glass like nobody’s business. I’d like to come back to try their bun bo hue someday.

Did I not promise that I would be back? A couple weeks ago, on our Best Baguette visit, we saw Phở Hoa Hong. We wanted to try Phở Hoa Hong, but we had a sandwich craving. We were enticed by the $ 5.00 all day weekday specials advertised on their window and large signage. Who knows how long the specials will last, so don’t wait too long to try out their menu. The group of specials differ from nearly weekday to weekday. On Mondays they have spring rolls, on Tuesday they feature different lemongrass items, on Wednesday they have barbecue pork options and on Thursday and Friday they offer traditional phở entrees. We found an interesting and delicious item to try every day of the week. Along with our phở entrees we ordered spring rolls for $ 4.95. Beverages start at $ 2.95. The food was hot and flavorful. When it comes to Vietnamese restaurants, the question is not if there is MSG, but how much MSG. The chef knows what he/she is doing when MSG isn’t noticeable; when you aren’t thirsty or nursing a headache on the way home. The restaurant is clean, bright and modern. It was a pleasant surprise. The waitstaff was friendly and knew just when to stop by the table to check on us. Phở Hoa Hong opened on August 12, 2008 and it’s a great establishment with really hearty food. Don’t know what’s taken you so long to try Phở Hoa Hong. It’s really good.
