Maeumbeer Hof Asian Fusion

Dropped in for the first time last night. The owners are friendly and the bacon kim chi burger is outstanding! Bi bim bap was also very good. So happy this nice spot has opened in the neighborhood.

Favorite hole in the wall. Love the Bento box and Spicy Chicken Ramen. Everything I’ve tried had been wonderful!

This place is great! What a pleasant surprise to have found this place. It’s run by a lovely Korean couple who are very friendly and accommodating. It may be the most clean place in town. The bathrooms are spotless and along with everything else. It has nice atmosphere and the food. The food is great! The menu is a mix of Asian and American. Great food!!! I’m back again for lunch today after eating dinner here last night.

Don’t let the strip mall fool you. Inside is great food. Korean short rib bento is fantastic.

I got the Bi bim bop, the flavors were great and it came with kim chee and miso soup which were both delicious. When I walked in, however, the gentlemen who prepared my food was laying on a bench in the dining room watching tv, minus one star. The bi bim bop didn’t have very much meat one it either which is why I took another star off. I will be back, next time I’ll try something else or ask if I can pay for extra meat.

This place is a real good addition to the area. The menu is quite broad, everything from a classic burger to squid. There’s something for everyone here. But the «fusion» menu is where to look. The kimchi burger is really good.
The dining room is nicely decorated and quite pleasant. The service is quite good.
The food is house-​made and prepared to-​order.
So, I suggest you explore this interesting new restaurant.

In an ugly older strip mall with Grocery Outlet, next to a laundromat, is this surprising Korean fusion joint with the mouthful name.
It’s nicely decorated inside. It feels and smells new (I think the wood tables were recently lacquered).
A nice man told my lunch date and I we could sit anywhere and gave us menus. There are about 15 tables.
The menu is extensive and fairly meat heavy: bentos, rice plates, burgers, Korean chicken, yakisobas, bi bim bap, etc. There is an interesting cocktail menu. I saw nothing labelled vegetarian although there was a spicy tofu soup listed.
I chose a bento with spicy pork. It came with a little miso soup (yummy), romaine salad with a French style dressing, two potstickers, two fried shrimp, rice, and a dipping sauce. I thought it was all pretty tasty. The pork itself was nicely spicy (my nose ran a little) and a little greasy but usually Korean spicy pork is a little greasy. The rice absorbs that nicely.
My companion chose bi bim bap (it says bi bim bob on the menu) and the nice man allowed for a swap from the listed beef to spicy pork. It included miso, a couple banchan (radish and bean sprouts) and the dish itself was in a big deep bowl with a lot of rice. The egg was not as runny as preferred by dining companion. The man refilled our waters several times and each time insisted the bi bim bap be mixed, but there was so much rice my friend didn’t want to do that instead leaving some in the bottom of the bowl. Perhaps a smaller bowl with less rice would be better? I donated some of my spicy pork to the cause. I had plenty. That seemed to help.
This friend’s gold standard for bi bim bap was the little counter at the driving range by Costco on Baseline. It was recently torn down.Sadface. But that kind Korean mom made it beautifully with less rice, prettily arrranged veggies, and a perfect runny egg. So for only this reason I give this place a four stars instead of a five.
Oh ok there is one more reason. The man brought us our ticket but we had to go to the back counter to pay. A mix of sit down and be waited on/​counter service that we find confusing. Either do it all at the table or all at the counter. It’s just more clear that way.
BTW the Korean chicken looks great, so I will be going back. Oh and cocktails since a workday lunch could not include such delights.

Place was empty at 7:30. Super cool and clean interior, I love the wood tables. I ordered the bulgogi beef teriyaki bento and some pot stickers.
Overall the food was good. The beef was definitely the highlight. The potstickers, tempura shrimp and noodles were underseasoned. Im not sure what the orange dressing was on the salad was, but it was delicious.
Full bar was a bonius.
Service was 5 stars.

I don’t know whether to give it a 3 stars or 4 stars. But there is nothing wrong with this place so I am going to give it 4 stars just because I think they can be so much better!
This little quaint Korean Fusion restaurant is incredibly easy to get to. When I stopped by last night, the service was good but when I looked at the menu I thought they had too many things on it, i. e Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box???
But, their Korean infused fast food was definitely amazing. I love love love their Korean Style Chicken, and they are the only one I know in town that has this so far. They have 4 different flavors and I was so happy to see it. Their bacon kimchi burger is a genius idea and it was delicious. I know I will come back to this restaurant again when I am in the area, but I would say expand the korean fusion food and leave off the bento box items.

I had delicious chicken udon soup. The price was reasonable and the portion was generous. I recommend this neighborhood spot.

I pull up Unilocal,since I’m out of town, and look around for a place to eat. Korean sounds good but so does a good ol’ burger. Then I see this place, and their kimchi burger with pork belly. I didn’t think twice… got in the car… and drove to Maeumbeer Hof. To put it concisely; the tone of the place was warm and relaxed while also being clean and simple, the service was excellent and fast without feeling rushed, and the food was delicious! This is where I’m going any time I’m in the area. No joke.

Delicious dishes. Great service. Lovely owners. Will come back in the future for live music.

Great food, great prices and great service. They have happy hour from 11am to 6pm and 3.50 draft beer and drinks. If you’re in the area, I recommend checking it out. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful place with great food and cordial hosts/​owners. Chef transformed former fast food teriyaki joint to a warm welcoming drinking bar. Beautiful woodwork that chef created himself. Food comes out fast and fresh. So happy to have good korean food in my neighborhood. Try the korean chicken with a Hite beer on draught. We went back the next day for take out. Also choices for my vegan son. Good luck and we wish you success! Great prices. What else can I say… give them a try.

Went here for dinner on Monday night after craving some udon soup. It was close to 9 and all the traditional Japanese places close by were closed or closing so I tried mauembeer. So glad I did. I had the spicy seafood udon and it was very good. The kimchee on the side was also good. Neither were too spicy but had lots of flavor. After reading the reviews I wasn’t sure what the atmosphere would be like but I was the only one there. Hope their business is doing well as it would be a shame if they don’t succeed — the food is very good. I will be back to try other items on their menu

A charming little Korean Fusion style pub/​restaurant run by a sweet couple that know how to cook. I love the use of wood blocks on the walls and real wood tables, the place just feels fun and nicely done. The food is fairly priced and very tasty.
I went for the hardcore bacon (more like thick spicy pick pieces) kimchi cheeseburger and is was delicious, so eat it as is no ketchup allowed! My wife had the spicy pork with veggies dish which was also very well made. They have a fairly simple menu so you won’t feel overwhelmed but there is enough Korean (tofu soup bulgogi, etc.) Japanese (udon and curry) American (burgers and more) and fusion style food (Korean cheesesteak and quesadillas) to please just about anyone.
About 4 local beers on tap and more in bottles, plus a decent cocktail menu including soju.
Overall a fun place that I hope sticks around because they deserve it, seems like a nice couple giving it a go and they are doing it right. Go support and don’t let the less than stellar location fool you, it’s probably the only thing keeping this place from blowing up!

I was disappointed to see my local Teriyaki place go, but happy to see its evolution! The interior is nicely done, they took a small space and made it feel cozy, not cramped.
Korean television on one wall, sports on the other. A mini bar that offers soju cocktails and some imported as well as local brews (I can’t wait to go back during happy hour!)
The food was great! I only captured the Bulgogi (marinated beef with rice and veggies), but we had the MaEum quesodilla (Korean style pork and swiss cheese with green onion and sour cream) and a spicy kimchi burger. The kimchi burger was pretty good but definitely not as spicy as expected, the bun was nice and soft. Next time we might try the Bulgogi sub sandwich.
I’ll re-​review on my next visit but for now, after being open only a couple weeks, its grand. The hours are late too, open til 1am during the week and 2am on the weekend.
