Mac a Wish

So great. I searched online on a friday. Called geek and nerd companies, no one called me back. Called others and not available til monday. Called more and rates sky high.
I found David and he called me instantly after I left him a message. He texted me, we set up a time.
He had me download software so I could have him take over my computer from his home. I didnt need to get dressed, find childcare, I just needed to lock myself in the study for ½ hour. He fixed all my stuff. He was kind, respectful, considerate and very efficient.
I have his name/​email/​website written and stuck with GLUE to my computer so I do not lose this man. I think I’m going to take the next step and ask him to move in.
Call this guy. He is amaze-​balls.

I was in dire straits on a business trip to Portland. David responded to my voicemail immediately and was able to troubleshoot my issues via text lickety split. Of note, I had already spent more than an hour on tech support with another Mac «specialist.» I would highly recommend Mac a Wish to anyone!

Isn’t always great to get your computer fixed under budget and sooner than expected?
Well in this case David did the unthinkable.
Let me start at the beginning. My wife’s Macbook was having trouble with its display screen. It would fade out and disappear. At first, you could fix it by rotating the screen a little here and a little there. But after a while, this stopped working. Then the screen went dark altogether. Well, we really use this laptop a lot and so we know we needed to get it fixed if possible. I was dreading the process and knew we were looking at some serious cash. I called around town, got a few estimates in the $ 200 plus range and the shortest turnaround time we got was 3 weeks!!!
But then I checked Unilocal and saw the rave reviews for David. Plus his place is only a few blocks away. What did we have to lose? I called him on a Friday at 5:15pm and he said bring it on over. He said he’d take a look, order parts, and hope to have it done within a few days. He said it would run around $ 125 bucks unless something unforeseen would occur.
My wife rushed it over and now at 8:30pm the SAME NIGHT, she is typing on her laptop. David swapped out a cable AND inverter board from another MACBOOK he already had and even replaced some of my wife’s worn out keys. Total cost: $ 100 bucks and it works like a charm. Needless to say we are thrilled with the service and David.
To recap… half of the projected budget and 3 hours turnaround time. I know it all fell in line for us, but we feel David is a good guy whom you can trust.

Cannot say enough good things about David and Mac a Wish. Helpful, easy to work with and knows what he is doing. So glad I found him. He will be my «go to» guy for all things Apple in the future.

I’m sure glad I was able to find David. With little time to spare, he jumped in, met me half way to pick up my computers and finished them by the next morning before leaving town for their baby shower. Everything was done according to plan. Prices were reasonable and he’s the kind of guy that instills confidence. I know that I have someone reliable and friendly to turn to the next time I need Mac help. I strongly recommend him.

Not only is David very helpful and knowledgeable, but he is a super nice person… easy-​going and friendly. I like to know what’s going on in my computer, so he always makes sure to teach me and let me know what to do next time. Then, after he’s been here trouble-​shooting, he will follow up with an email to see if everything is ok. I love Macs, and rarely have problems, but I also love knowing that David is a short phone call away and always willing to tackle even the most obscure problem that comes up.

One is always filled with trepidation when hiring a new computer service person. I pulled Mac a Wish off the web and it worked out great! First, David showed up on time! That in itself means a lot to me. Second, he fixed my MacBook Pro iTunes issue that had me confounded for months. He’s polite, patient and professional (plus punctual)! Thanks, David!

David is a miracle worker! By a fluke I found David’s wife and she referred me to her genius husband. I had printed many place cards on a PC using a template provided by the The Paper Source, but at the last minute I had to make some changes and the only computer available to me was my daughter’s Mac. We could not figure out how to print without showing the red lines — David to the rescue! By calling me in Los Angeles, he walked me (actually my daughter) through the whole process and I now have beautiful place cards. He was calm and EXTREMELY knowledgable. What a great find! I found David through Craigslist. He just spent two hours cleaning up 4 years of accrued glitches and problems. He’s really smart and very savvy about Macs. When we were looking for internal hard drives for my Mac Pro, he knew that there had been flooding in the country where they were manufactured and that it had caused a temporary shortage, and said I should wait for a while and prices should go down. So, that was really helpful, and he didn’t even need to tell me that. From now on, he’s my go to guy for all my Macs.

Been a Mac man ever since 1993 (true!) and have had only a couple «emergencies» in that time. Yesterday was a doozy. My Mac Mail program lost all my email accounts and all of my correspondence, etc. I have a big event coming up this weekend and I was in a panic! I contacted David Thiele of «Mac-​A-​Wish» and, by using a remote program, he restored my accounts, cleaned up corrupted files and got back ALL of my correspondence… within an hour! I was amazed! Now, he’s coming to my office next week to upgrade my machine to Snow Leopard. Bottom line, he saved me and my business. I can’t say enough about David, his people skills (he calmed me down immediately), his knowledge of Mac computers and programs. AND, his prices are better than anyone out there!
