Not the best Korean food in town. Beaverton seems to be the hub of all Korean restaurants in the Portland-Metro area. This restaurant was just okay. However, they do have lunch specials that include bento boxes. I ended up getting their seafood pancake, which was kinda soggy and mediocre. I also got a kalbi bento box, which was actually at a reasonable price. But the short ribs in the bento box was pretty small. The great thing about the bento box was that it came with some dumplings and pieces of the seafood pancake already and a side of salad. Aside from the food, this restaurant has pretty good customer service!

One of my most favorite and beloved Korean places. It’s owned by the sweetest couple. I’ve been in regularly for the last several months and the food is always good, no matter what dish I’ve ordered. The dolsot bibimbap is delicious and when I ask them for raw egg so I can mix it in myself they happily oblige. I love this place.

LEGITIMATELYMYNEWFAVORITEKOREANPLACEINBEAVERTON. I cannot tell you how many places I’ve tried before Hae Rim… But I’ve absolutely loved every experience that I have had here. At first glance, this little shop doesn’t look like much. It doesn’t have an overhead sign, and is around the corner from the Beaverton Trader Joe’s. However, walking up to this little shop you start to notice the Asian-style food examples in a glass case by the window. You begin to see the delicate paper screens and cushioned benches in the entryway of the shop… All of this screams to me: I AMAUTHENTIC! ANDYOUAREGOINGTOLOVEME!!! Needless to say, Hae Rim never disappoints. I’m a chronic eater of soondoobu and japchae, but every once and a while I venture out and order mul nang myeun and bibimbap. I absolutely love the quality of the food and the mannerisms of the owners. So gracious and polite! I never feel rushed, nor do I feel like I’m sitting in the dark all the time(they have pretty good lighting). The ambience is relaxed, and you can tell by the constant stream of quiet customers that is is a popular place among locals. I would totally recommend this place to any of my friends. Go eat here!!!

We have been to Haerim few times before. Their service was good. However, when we went there with our Chinese friends this time, their service was Not Good at all! They served us foods without giving us any plates. So we had to ask them for plates. A bowl of steamed egg is complimentary when you order a dish at dinner time. We ordered 4 dishes, and we DIDNOT get the egg. One of my friends said maybe they are out of the steamed egg at that moment. However, there were few groups of people who came later all got the steamed egg, and we were the only table didn’t have it. Most of the time, they didn’t really care about us at all! I felt sad is not because they didn’t give us the steamed egg, is because I felt like we were being treated unfairly!!! It also made me feel like they are not welcome Chinese people. It’s my personal feeling because when we went there the last few times with American and Japanese friends, their service was good. After this time experience, we Will NOT go back there anymore!!!

Ever since it changed owner, it has been going downhill for me. I wanted to like it again, but couldn’t. Everytime I came, the tables with dirty plates were not cleaned and they just ignored it even until I finished eating. It was like that a couple times I was there for lunch. With restaurants like this, only good food is not enough to keep customers’ interest. I say the owners are pretty nice, but it would be nicer if they could be quicker and bothered to clean the tables.

I love the appetizers here! Authentic Korean food. The bbq pork was a little burnt and sticking to the hot plate but otherwise, marinated well. This place looks very much like it was renovated from a previous Mexican restaurant of sorts so the décor is a little off. Hopefully they can inject more Korean culture and décor into it as they make more money from customers.

Perhaps today wasn’t the best time to experience this restaurant for the first time? Service was super slow but the guy in charge was very apologetic, so it’s all good. I was off work early(New Year’s eve day) and thought I’d finally come here for lunch. I came in alone, all the tables were a mess and the old guy(owner?) Was zipping all over the place. He looked really frazzled. Bus boy came and cleaned all the tables at once. I guess I could’ve just sat down but the sign said wait, so I did. Felt like forever, but couldn’t have been more than 15 minutes waiting. I walked in at the tail end of the lunch rush, so I can forgive the lack of promptness. I ordered dolsot bibimbap, one of my favorite dishes. It came out fast and piping hot. But it turned out to be really, surprisingly bland. I busted the egg yolk and mixed everything around and it was all pretty much hot, sizzling rice with mostly tasteless bits mixed in. I thought maybe cuz i was congested, my tastebuds were out of whack, but I could taste the banchan just fine. The kimchi was really good. This place gets lots of praise from the other locals, so I’ll have to come in on a day not preceding a major holiday. This visit was fine overall, just nothing to write home about.

Hae Rim has always been one of our go to Korean spots. Their food is always tasty and the service is pretty good. This time, we had the short ribs and hot stone bibimbap. Food arrived promptly and tasted great as expected. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something quick but better than fast food.

I moved from Beaverton to Vancouver and miss this place a lot. Specifically miss the Kal-bi ribs. All the side dishes are delicious and while the food is made to order, the wait wasn’t too bad. Will stop by if in the area again :)

It took me a long time to find this place as my GPS was sending me round and round and it was dark outside. Finally about to give up and then found it! Wasn’t that a sign? Unfortunately, it wasn’t. I really liked this place but the food lacked the strong flavors that Korean food is known for. There was one guy who was doing all the waiting and he was excellent. Fast, friendly and efficient. 5 stars for the guy! Definitely a departure from your usual ahjima(older lady) surly service. I ordered the yukejang. It’s a spicy beef soup and what I like to get the most at Korean restaurants. I asked for it extra spicy. The guys said«spicier than usual»? Yes, because I know they sometimes make it less spicy due to the clientele. I’m afraid the cook must have mistaken what I said. It was so unspicy and could have used some more salt. Usually this dish is a dark red from all the red pepper, but instead it was a mild orange. The soup temperature was super hot which helped. Not a lot of beef in it but that seems to be the trend at restaurants. Their panchans(side dishes) were all pretty good. They give you either hot barley tea or i ice water and a little sweet rice drink at the end. I would love to go back and try something else. The place was so clean and had a nice feel to it, if their food matched, it would be a 5 star.

I came here with some colleagues for lunch on a Friday and was very excited to try my first Korean BBQ since moving to Portland. We had dumplings to start and they were perfectly fried and delicious. I also liked how they automatically brought kimchi to the table to snack on while we were waiting for our main courses. I got the kimchi bibimbap and it was quite good, but I couldn’t get over the taste of the shiitake mushrooms. That is my own issue though, so I can’t let it detract from the review! I could tell that this place was family owned and authentic, so loved that part of it.

A hidden gem in the middle of Beaverton Town Square. I love their beef bulgogi and kim chi jigae. Entrees includes multiple side dishes, steamed egg bowl, and sweet rice beverage. Owners are very friendly and attentive. If you want spicy, you really get spicy! I love the flavors of their dishes. Very authentic, elegant, clean, and warm.

Delicious and extremely friendly service! Had an array of banchan, kimchi pancake, fried dumplings, and I had the soondubu and my friend had the bo ssam. We enjoyed all our food. They even brought out a complimentary steamed egg dish and sweet rice drink at the end of our meal. Great family friendly restaurant.

My second visit to Hae Rim felt different. .in a good way. We were warmly greeted and served and the place felt more open, bright, and inviting. I loved the beautiful landscape paintings of the countryside on the walls. The Raboki and Beef soup were nice. The soup even came with steamed eggs. The 5 Banchan tasted perfect. Looks like Hae Rim will be visited more often.

Had a craving for Korean food, so my family and I stopped by for lunch. It’s located in a huge plaza, so parking was not an issue. We made it just in time for the lunch special. It comes in a bento box filled with sides and a meat dish. I tried the chicken and the pork, both were great. I also got to try the dol sot bibimbop. The best part was the slightly burnt rice on the bottom. There were tons of items on the menu. It is worth a try!

Seems like all the Korean restaurants are in Beaverton, which is a 25 minute drive without rush hour from where we live. We came in for lunch. The place was packed, for a Monday at 1:30. We were greeted and sat within a minute. Given menus, and we asked for water. 10 minutes later, we gave our order. No water. We noticed, the people next to us, were patiently waiting for their check, which didn’t come for another 10 minutes. We ordered the Kalbi lunch bento and the dolsot bibimbap. Both were delicious, and on point. Our lunch came with banchan, which are Korean side dishes, such as kimchi etc. I think what annoyed me the most, is how I asked for a to go box, twice which never came. I had to ask one of the kitchen staff, for one. Four stars for delicious Korean cuisine, knock one star for being forgotten. I probably wouldn’t dine here if you’re in a hurry!

Came here for lunch and ordered a lunch special. I kind of wish I ordered the dinner food because after I ordered, I looked around all the other tables that had dinner food and they looked AND smelled delicious! I got the chicken and beef bulgogi, comes in a bento-like box with a small piece of seafood pancake, gyoza, rice, and a salad. You also get three appetizer dishes(kimchi, potato and radish). I think it was around 7 or 8 dollars for the bento box. The waiter(or owner?) was very nice and friendly! It’s a small, cozy place with modest décor, almost feels like a Chinese fast food place. The food is very affordable, delicious and a great deal! I want to come back to try the dinner menu items!
