It was super busy and the girls tried really hard to keep up. They were really nice. The food was good. Thank you!

I’m writing this review since I have nothing better to do in the 20 minutes I’ve been waiting for my bagel sandwich. There are four people behind the counter and only two are really working on getting orders out. The woman is killing herself to make the food as quick as she can, and the cashier is struggling to ring people up and make coffee while two other guys chill out. I should have gone to Starbucks next door.

Was introduced to the one in Tanasbourne. Liked the food. Then came to this one for an early lunch beginning of this year. Was decent then came to this location again last month. I order the lox on an onion bagel to go since I had to go to work. They did it right but employee flung my to go box across counter and walked off. I went up to get it and said umm excuse me. I also got potato salad. He said no you didn’t. I showed him proof and he’s like oh fine and threw it on the counter. It was so hard the lid popped off. I was pissed off but didn’t complain. I then asked for a bag and he said no. Ended up just leaving with my food Came back today 6÷21÷15. Better service then before. I ordered a garlic bagel but got onion instead. Was a little burnt. But I still ate it since I needed something to eat before work

Used to love the service here but it’s gotten awful. The staff is consistently rude, they pay very little attention to the application of the quality of the product and when it’s busy, you can forget about them paying any attention to the cleanliness of the dinning room.

NOVA Lox and Bagle, had only 2 – 3 capers and 1 tiny, thin slice of lox split for each half of bagle. With thinly sliced tomato that was not ripe and hardly any cream cheese. Service terrible. It was expensive, what a waste of money! Takes forever to get your order, never again!

I make breakfast for myself most mornings, but sometimes I need to grab breakfast on the way to work. I usually stop in my neighborhood and eat on the drive in. But today there was a traffic snarl in the neighborhood, so I stopped as Einstein’s near work instead. I forgot why I never eat here, and today I remember. They are so slow. 4 people in line ahead of you and it will take 20 minutes to make your bagel sandwich. Now I appreciate fresh food, but that is quite a bit of time, particularly when they have at least four people making stuff behind the counter. It’s expensive. $ 5 for a bagel sandwich. And the quality of the ingredients does not justify the price. The bacon is that sad over processed, microwaved bacon fast food places serve. It’s a disgrace to real bacon. The bagel itself is OK. Not going to ding them too much, about average for Portland where it is no easy to get a decent bagel. The sandwich is good, but after paying $ 5 for it and waiting for 20 minutes, it doesn’t seem like a good deal to me, or to really work with my morning schedule. I guess if you like the chain store vibe, and waiting, or you aren’t in any hurry, then this place may be OK.

Ordinary bagels. Service is slow. Why should I spend my money here(when I could buy store bagels that taste 10x better)? Good coffee is the only reprieve.

If its a Friday, they will most likely be busy, so expect ur bagel to be mostly cold by the time u get it. Other days, it will be too hot to eat right when u get it, but Fridays, it usually is a bummer. No matter how hard the employees work(and they do work very hard) the system set in place by the management has some weak links, and this is one of them. This place has good people, but there’s just so much one can do at a chain of a bagel place. If one of the kind women that run the registers owned this storefront, it would be homey, run like a top and have a person touch, but it’s a chain, so be kind and focus ur attention to the owner, hes dropping the ball.

I don’t know why this place gets so low stars. We love this place! Before moving, my weekend routine was going to our local bagel shop and sharing a breakfast bagel with my husband. Now this has become our new local shop so we continue the routine here although we’ve switched it up a bit. My husband likes the bacon, egg and cheddar sandwich on a pretzel or plain bagel. I usually would have the same, but here, I am addicted to their honey almond cream cheese! So delicious on an apple cinnamon bagel with an iced coffee. We also love the staff here. They are always extremely friendly and even on a busy day are as prompt as they can be. Never had a single issue or mix up with our order. We hope this continues to be our weekend routine for a long time.

So, I’m a true believer in giving people/businesses the benefit of the doubt. Not only has this location stepped up their game, and continue to make improvements, the Area Manager contacted me personally after I reviewed them on their corporate site, to discuss my concerns et al. I can’t always frequent this location based on my daily schedule, but hands down, this is the bench mark Einstein in PDX in my opinion. Keep up the good work!

So two days later after getting the disappointing bagel and lox, my ex son-in-law is on his way over in the morning and says he is bringing bagels. Ooh yum. Guess what he shows up with bagels from the exact same place. I attached a picture to my first review, but that actually was the bagel he brought me. The previous bagel that was burnt etc, I never posted. I mean 2 capers. I thought maybe it was an off day when I got the first one but now I know. Nope not getting lox and bagels from this place anymore. Thanks to Janet M. I will be trying sunrise bagels the next time. It’s definitely farther from my house to go there but willing to try it.

You have to have terrible bagels for me to not be a fan. Einstein recently bought out Noah’s, which is exactly what this used to be. I’m a fan of a bagel w/lox and cream cheese and usually they deliver. On New Year’s Day I was advised they were out of lox, and didn’t know how long that would be because that was a company-wide thing, so I don’t know that i can fault this location for that. A bagel with(flavored cream cheese) is a tad pricey, over $ 2, however, most coffee shops charge 1.50 for a plain bagel with packaged Philadelphia cream cheese. These are slightly better quality. To those naysayers advising they will stay home because of the pricing, let’s get real — all food businesses have huge mark-ups, this one is more glaring because it focuses on a solitary item. This is also located next to a Starbucks and a few other chain restaurants in a strip mall setting down the street from Washington Square Mall. The parking lot is a little tight, but there are usually spots available. There can sometimes be a line to or out the door at this location, especially on weekend mornings, but then again, in this part of town, there aren’t great places to get a bagel or bagel sandwich.

The employees, at this store in particular, work like chickens with their heads cut off. We ordered two bagels, requested a garden veggie shmear for the one & the gal asks, «Strawberry?». No, does garden veggie sound anything like strawberry? We politely corrected her. While she’s making the adjustments my bf’s name was called out by an employee from the other end for order ready. How is that when we weren’t finished ordering? Get this. It’s $ 1.75 for a gourmet bagel & adding shmear costs an additional $ 1.50. I’ll stick with purchasing cream cheese from the store & know I’ll have more for another day thank you very much. The other gal at the register was trying to do 20 things at once while cashing us out. We get home & noticed we were only charged for one bagel & shmear. Should I give another star because of that? No, because I’ve experienced better.
