Courtyard Beaumont

We used to go to the Residence Inn nearby but after 2 different crappy stays and dealing with the night shift front desk girl we gave up on that place, my family and I live in the next town and we now go to this hotel! We love the AWESOME staff and Missy rocks she is the front desk clerk and is SO helpful!!! If u want great service and friendly atmosphere stay here!!!

Staff is amazing. However, this is not a Marriot quality hotel. Bathroom is dated and the internet is miserable to the point of being non-​existent. I spoke with front desk a few times as I needed it to send work reports and was told they would ‘make a call’. However, after reading reviews here after the fact, it has been a problem for quite sometime and they should of said that upfront. If you need internet for work… DO NOT stay here.
Other than that it is an average hotel with nothing of the Marriot quality.

When I decided on a whim to actually attend my high school reunion this year (our 25^th), I didn’t want to spend too much on the room where I’d only be sleeping, so I did the research and the best deal for my dates (via
) turned up for this Courtyard Marriott hotel located just off I-​10 East between the MCM Elegante (what long ago was the old Beaumont Hilton) and the Fairmont Inn.
Room 222 was kind of run down in some ways (especially the bathtub, shower, and bathroom décor), but we found the queen-​sized bed to be quite comfortable and we appreciated the all white bedding (to calm any bed bug paranoia). After reading a couple of the unfavorable reviews here (once we had already checked in — doh!), I did worry for a minute and perform a thorough inspection of the room, but we really had no big problems during our stay.
They advertise free wifi, but we found the bandwidth to be maxed out and too slow for anything but browsing mostly text.
Some other things to note:
– Front desk & coffee bar staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. When I inquired about whether the Starbucks coffee at the bar was complimentary, the concierge found that it was not (for my particular reservation), but she pulled out a coupon and replied, «Please enjoy one on me.» Each time we went through the lobby, we receive smiles and warm greetings.
– As mentioned elsewhere, there is a portable dehumidifier in the room. It’s fairly noisy, but we liked having the white noise to drown out the I-​10 traffic sounds. If the machine turns off, the water collector tub is likely full, so you’ll have to carry the bucket to the tub & empty it, or call the front desk if you’re unsure about how to manage it.
– The water cooler in the gym was dry during our visit, but bottled water was provided as a substitute. This was nice to know about when we went out for a trail run at the Big Thicket and could grab a couple of bottles on our way out the door.
– Speaking of the small gym, there are 2 treadmills (with basic TV channels on an attached screen), an elliptical, a stair-​stepper, and a cross-​training/​weights system. Towels and water are provided. Everything was clean for me and I enjoyed having the space to myself for most of my workout on Friday around 4:30p.

I’m a business traveler who relies heavily on review sites such as Unilocal to give me honest photos and reviews of businesses I’m considering patronizing. That said, what I look for in a hotel for a business trip may not be the same as what others prioritize or prefer for casual stays or vacations.
This was my first time staying at this property and I used previous Unilocal reviews to help me choose between this hotel and another local chain hotel of which I’m also a rewards member.
The Courtyard Marriott is located adjacent to the highway — making it fairly easy to find. Because of its proximity to the highway, you may hear some traffic noise from the guest rooms but I didn’t find it to be excessive or disruptive in my room (granted I was staying in a room not facing the highway). The property is located mid-​Beaumont and near several restaurants so while it is a convenient location and the area seemed safe enough, the area is not walkable or suitable for an outdoor run.
I stayed in a standard room with two queen beds. My room was slightly larger than I expected for this level Marriott. No major complaints about the amenities though my bathroom lighting was somewhat dark due to the placement of the door and no light fixture near the shower — this might be a concern for some.
WiFi was «free» with my rewards membership. I didn’t dine on property but the dining area/​lobby/​bar was frequently crowded. The lobby has definitely been updated and was comfortable. The property has an indoor pool and a fitness center, though I found the fitness center to have limited equipment.
All in all, I will likely try the property again on another visit.

the stay was decent enough.
the bathroom was pretty tight but atleast the towels were clean (hopefully) and there were lots of counter space. im sure the complimentary lotion seemed half way full but whatever, i brought my own.
the mattress my husband and i slept on was no where near hotel quality. it felt like an older bed or just a cheaper bed, but we survived.
i must say the internet was extremely slow, it took about 10 mins to download a simple app.

I stayed here Jan. 20, 2015 in room 200. I woke up just before 3 am and noticed something brown moving in the sheets. I was able to find it kill and bag it and pest control man who treated my vehicle and its contents confirmed it was an adult bed bug. I did not have any bites but it oozed some blood on the tissue I killed it with so it bit somebody. The person working at 3 am was not very understanding at why I was so disturbed. However the manager Roy was and offered to reimburse me for my dry cleaning. After getting home and getting things done I emailed him my receipts for dry cleaning those items that could not be washed in hot water and put in dryer on high, as well as for having a pest control person treat the entire vehicle and everything in it. I did not immediately hear back from Roy. He was more friendly than Marriott «customer service» but after a few weeks I called back to check status and Roy asked that I mail the original receipts, which I did, I called back the next week or so and he was out of town but the assistant manager Keitha responded after she was contact by corporate after my next call to Marriott, she in fact emailed me the same day to please email her the receipts, and reimbursement for all my expenses came in the mail shortly after. So, eventually, it got resolved.
The pest control person said seeing one bug does not indicate an infestation. However, I was in a room with 2 queen beds and when I found the bug in my bed I checked the other bed and there was bed bug activity on the night stand side at the pillow area.
Keitha and Roy rectified the situation as best they could since nobody has a time machine. Thought they resolved to my satisfaction of course I am still posting because I would want to know this info myself.

This hotel is fine, not really up to Marriott standards though. The lobby is nice, and there are nice amenities such as an indoor pool. The inside of the room seemed a little cheap, especially the bathroom. The wifi was also extremely slow. Basic browsing was not possible, so obviously they need to upgrade their bandwidth.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Though the lobby having a major renovation, we noticed no noise on the third floor. The front desk and dining facilities are at the north end of the hotel. Though crowded, the staff does their best to shuttle food from the kitchen to the make-​shift dining area. The rooms are clean. It has a small indoor swimming pool.

While I have stayed at nicer hotels in my travels… I have rarely come across a staff that was as proactive and accomadating as the staff of this hotel. The front desk staff in particular Whitney went above and beyond making me and my family feel at home. Thye greeted me and my wife by name and engaged in polite conversation everytime they saw us. She made the entire stay a joy. The hotel itself was well kept, rooms were neat and clean.
The next time I am in Beaumont I will be staying there again! Whitney and the General Manager made the entire stay a pleasure!

It’s hard for me to rate this only 2 stars because I only stay at Marriott’s, I’m a Rewards member, and I had never ever had a bad experience at a Courtyard until I stayed here. I stopped on my way to Orlando and I was tired and hungry. As I walked in, the lady was on the phone taking a reservation. She never acknowledged me and after about five minutes of being tired and standing there she shot me a glance and didn’t hurry up at all. When she got off the phone, she seemed really confused. I gave her my credit card and Rewards card with my rewards number. She said that had a room available and then asked me if I was a rewards member… uh, yeah, you are staring at my card. She was friendly enough through the process but just didn’t seem to really know what was going on. The hotel felt old. It felt like an old hotel that definitely needs an update to fall into a Courtyard category. I got up to my room and the first thing I saw was a dehumidifier. That’s fine, we are in the south, but it stunk. It smelled like sewage water mixed with mold. I couldn’t take it. I went back to the front desk and told them about the smell and was given a different room. This room smelled fine but it was gross. The TV kept cutting out, the shower completely sucked, the entire bathroom felt like the 70’s. Seriously, it was bad. The real kicker was the door into the hotel room. It wouldn’t shut all they way. It didn’t have the modern deadbolts so after hooking the chain and doing the deadbolt you could see a sliver of light into the hall. I eventually went to the hotel across the street to have dinner and a stiff cocktail because I had to get out of that room.
Then, the next morning there is hot breakfast. I go down and I had paid the night before and this lady working there (she was new) almost stopped me from going in to get my food and told me I had to pay. I told her I already did and told her she could go talk to the front desk and verify but that I was hungry and needed to get on the road. She turned out to be friendly but it was annoying at first.
I was disappointed in the Courtyard by Marriott this time around. That being said, I will continue to visit them wherever I travel because they are usually great. This one needs some help, though.

Mostly comfortable, but not quite up to Courtyard standards. The bed was very comfortable and the area was safe. My main complaint is that the bathroom was decidedly in need of maintenance: The exhaust fan was really noisy, the light was an old compact flourescent which took about two minutes to warm up, and the shower’s grab bar was loose at one end — glad I didn’t need it!

This is not a feeble attempt at getting more Firsts! I actually stayed at this hotel for a majority of ¹⁹⁹⁸⁄₉₉!
It was my first client gig on my first job and they told me it was in Houston. Sweet, I’ve never been to Houston! Then I get the directions: fly to IAH, take the 59S to the 10E. Drive 75 miles to Beaumont. 75 MILES! Houston my ass! It was late at night and there were literally no lights around. Then, in the distance, I see this beacon of light. There was nothing obstructing my view so I knew it was 15 – 20 miles away. It was the Courtyard Marriott.
It took me several weeks to get used to the situation, but I was on this project for a year. I spend 10 days here then flew home to the Bay Area for 4 days. I did this for nearly 9 months. There is squat to do out there but smoke, race people with tricked out trucks, and work. the hotel staff got to know me well so they treated me well and I tipped well. That was the only way it became bearable. The food was actually decent in the hotel, otherwise I would have been eating BBQ and boudin like there was no tomorrow.
I remember watching Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa in their juiced HR chase in this hotel. I remember experiencing my first hurricane in about 14 years in this hotel. Not the fondest of memories, but the services of the hotel made it bearable.
