West Coast Wedding DJs and DJ Sota Entertainment is a professional Mobile DJ service that provides DJ and MC Services for Weddings, Events, Dances, and Parties. We have DJed at hundreds of locations and venues throughout California.

We will work with you from beginning, as we help plan and customize the details of your event, through to the end as we DJ, MC, and help coordinate the actual day of your event. It is our goal to provide you high quality customer service and entertainment.

History

Established in 2008.

DJ Sota Entertainment aka West Coast Wedding DJshas been around since 2008 and has been involved in hundreds of events including over 800 weddings. Having years of experience in event planning and promotion, we specialize in weddings, school functions, corporate events, concerts, bars/​clubs and private events and have learned how to successfully coordinate and run sound for a variety of events ranging from 25 to 1000 people. Over the years we’ve grown an extensive knowledge of music and mixing and our current music collection, which is always growing, ranges from the 1920′s to the current Top 40, with cultural music from around the world.

Hello my name is Dakota J Sottosanto (DJ Sota) and I am the owner of West Coast Wedding DJs and DJ Sota Entertainment. I graduated from University of California Santa Cruz in 2005, but began DJing in 2001.

I have a great team of DJs that work with me. My team and I strive to make sure all clients receive a great service by being professional. friendly, and fun. Growing in experience, we have learned to handle almost any audio and sound situation and are knowledgeable in almost all types of music. Also as both DJs and MCs, we are Pro-​Active to handle every event with confidence to make sure your wedding or event is a success.

Our non-​profit Hispanic Business Committee hired DJ Richard for our fundraiser event and we were so glad we did. DJ Richard kept the crowd dancing. He is definitely our ‘go-​to’ guy for upcoming events.

I needed to write a little something about DJ Richard Garcia. Richard is simply an awesome person! He’s very personable and wants to please you, the client very much! He’s easy to talk to and to work with when you need that certain type of music that you hear in your head! DJ Richard has been the man to go to for me for several parties over the years. Most recently he did a friend’s retirement party back in Oct. 2015, then my annual Christmas Party, and looking forward to DJ Richard doing our Spring Fling Thing 2 in April… I truly believe you cant go wrong with DJ Richard Garcia «doing his thing!» ;)

We were married Memorial Day weekend so I am a little slow to getting my review out. Picking my DJ was the first thing I did after getting engaged. I e-​mailed multiple vendors for my wedding and DJ Sota responded back immediately and was very professional, making DJ Sota entertainment an extremely easy decision to go with.
DJ Dave was amazing! I was not the most organized bride (especially when it came to the wedding day timeline) and DJ Dave and DJ Sota walked me through the entire night and developed a schedule that met just what I wanted!
DJ Dave played the music at our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and everything was perfect. The dance floor was full all night, my husband and I couldn’t be happier with our DJ.
Anyone who picks DJ Sota Entertainment will be very happy with their choice.

He was stellar. Great guy. Easy to talk to no ego to deal with. He didn’t want to play his own mixes or whatever he wanted. The guests were happy. We were happy.

I was a groomsmen at a wedding where DJ Dave with Sota Entertainment was the DJ. He did a fantastic job. I’ve had a lot of friends get married over the past couple years and this was the best wedding yet! The DJ was fun, but not annoying, and everyone had a blast! DJ Dave rocked our wedding and helped to make it amazing. He did our ceremony first which he got perfectly even though it was a difficult location. He worked well with our coordinator and made the whole process easy for us. He helped us pick songs and even did a few difficult custom edits for a small fee which he mixed perfectly.
Dave made the reception so memorable. He was able to get the feel of the dance floor and keep it packed. He did a great job doing announcements and got our large crowd where they needed to be. My wife and I couldn’t have been happier and would strongly recommend his services.

We hired DJ Sota (Dakota) for our wedding at the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach. We originally hired Dakota to do the lighting and be our DJ for the reception. About 2 weeks before the wedding, I asked Dakota if we could add a custom monogram. Although we were only 2 weeks away, Dakota was more than accommodating. He was able to take the design from the back of our wedding invitation and project it on the wall. It turned out amazing! Then about 2 days before the wedding, we had a problem with our ceremony musician and asked Dakota to step in and play during the ceremony as well. Again, he came through without any hesitation!
Everything turned about better than we even imaged! The lighting was beautiful. The music was excellent. And Dakota made sure everything went according to plan. Dakota has done many weddings and his knowledge of all the details and timing of everything put me at ease. Our hotel coordinator only facilitated through the ceremony, so it was very important that we had someone who could run the show at the reception.
In addition, my husband is Colombian and we wanted to have a mix of music and incorporate Latin music. Dakota did a great job mixing it up and keeping the Latin music modern so everyone enjoyed dancing to it.
Lastly, the best thing I liked about Dakota was that he is not cheesy or like a game show host. We met with many DJs and they all had this game show host vibe. Dakota gave the party life without taking over the show. I would definitely recommend Dakota to anyone looking for a DJ.

One of the best decisions my husband and I made was selecting DJ Sota Entertainment, and DJ Sota (Dakota) as our DJ for our Summer Wedding last year. DJ Sota was our DJ and also provided all of our lighting at Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach. From start to finish, everything was fantastic! We met with DJ Sota prior to our wedding and he was so great at considering what our thoughts were for music and lighting, and was very professional at providing us with ideas and input for what would be great for our Wedding Day. He walked us through every moment of the wedding, making us feel so comfortable, and we left knowing that he was able to smoothly organize the music for each event perfectly.
Still a year later, our guests talk about DJ Sota and how it was the best DJ they have seen at a wedding. We had every generation up and dancing, and there was something that day for everyone to love! We highly recommend DJ Sota Entertainment for any Bride and Groom!

DJ Sota was our DJ for our wedding on 4÷26÷14. When we first got engaged, I had no idea where to even start looking for a good DJ, when I started researching, there quite a bit of shady DJ’s out there that were trying to rip us off and charge us way to much for what they were offering, and most of them just seemed stuck up, and weren’t really helpful. When I found DJ Sota on Unilocal,I saw amazing reviews on him and his company DJ Sota Entertainment. Ever since the day I contacted him, he has been helpful every step of the way, and he was very prompt and quick about responding by email, text, or phone call, and answered any questions we had. He made us feel super comfortable and was up front and honest with us, we were even on a first name basis, and he wasn’t pushy at all.
We met up 2 weeks prior to our wedding to finalize everything, and we had some last minute changes, and he was able to work around it. He even was able to have one of his friends to come help translate at our wedding to accommodate and make my Argentinean family comfortable during the reception. We definitely recommend him for any event you may need a DJ for. Thanks so much Dakota!

DJ Sota’s company was so amazing to work with. We were referred to Dakota’s company by our photographer, Jamie Brinkman, who had worded with him several times prior and was very pleased with DJ Sota’s team. We originally thought Dakota was going to be our DJ, but he had another event. After we had a Skype meeting with DJ Dave, we knew that this was going to be the best decision for our special day!
We had to arrange the whole thing from the east coast and they walked us through the entire process with ease. At times, we felt overwhelmed with all the typical wedding things, but with their organized time line and helpful client questionnaires, we learned quickly that this was going to be much easier than expected. They were super helpful with suggestions and giving us a peace of mind by walking us through different ideas and how to incorporate our vision for the perfect wedding.
Dave was punctual, very friendly, easily worked with our requests. He had a sense of humor, very easygoing and ensured we stayed on track with our time line the day of wedding. Even though we had a bit of a late start (we were about 15 – 20 min late), he managed to bring us back on track — which was super important since we had 2 other vendors who had a specific time they needed to start their performances. Every guest that had a request or needed his assistance continued to rave about his professionalism and how easy it was to approach him. He was well dressed and always had a smile on his face (which was always a plus with those candid photos!).
If we ever have another event — no offense Dakota — Dave would definitely be our man! :)

DJ Sota’s company was great to work with. I got married last October and am slow to getting around to this review, as I’m not typically a big reviewer… at all. However, I felt compelled to get the word out about our experience with DJ Sota and DJ Dave. We emailed a lot of different DJ companies and a lot of their prices were ridic for what we would get. I emailed DJ Sota for a quote and his pricing was VERY reasonable!
Before making my vendor decision, I scheduled a Skype meeting with Dakota (DJ Sota) and DJ Dave, since Dave would be our DJ while Dakota was already booked. I wanted to get a good feel for their vibe and how much they love music and have knowledge about what we wanted, which was a lot of various decade chill music for dinner and all 90’s hip hop and other party music during reception. I had some no no’s too (no Bieber/​Miley/​Selena Gomez tween ish), and they totally got our style do’s and dont’s. Dakota was also prompt on email responses and totally even helped us plan not only the music for big moments (i.e. Aisle walk, wedding party entry, first dance) but also the day’s schedule with his predetermined questionnaire and planner. This was so helpful.
We hired Dave and it was a great decision. Everyone was packed on the floor dancing most of the night and he was super professional and kind. We really appreciated his hard work in not only DJing, but also hooking up the ceremony speakers and uplights and making the lighting look awesome. Yes… the prices were so reasonable that we opted for uplights from them too. I would recommend this company for sure… cool, professional guys!
