Business Owner

Mark Smith has been diving professionally for 33 years, and has owned his own dive shop – Underwater Adventures on Government Street – for the past 22 years. His underwater exploits have taken him to Venezuela, Mexico and the Republic of Palau. But his interests don’t only lie under the sea; he also has a passion for restoring classic Corvettes.

Describe your most memorable dive:

«I was in Palau in April of 2008. I was diving the Blue Corner along the Oolong Channel. The group got in the water at the Blue Corner, and we used our reef hooks to get into position for the dive along the channel. Once everyone was in place, the Divemaster gave a signal and we released from the Blue Corner into a four-​knot current along the Oolong Channel.
