Best pizza in Baton Rouge. Definitely a hole in the wall. The atmosphere is extremely unique. You cannot go wrong with a cheese pizza!

Terrible service. Owner was rude one pizza took over an hour! We will not go back. Worst customer service ever.

Really, really, surprisingly good. I’m a pizza snob, and didn’t expect it to be that good. Crust was not as thin as I like (I enjoy cracker thin crust), but if you like good thin crust pizza, I would say this is a good pie. Ingredients were not pre-made/frozen…they were all fresh and tasty! Only complaint, the large is not large. It’s a rectangle pizza, and only really serves 2. It probably says that somewhere on their website, I just did didn’t see it. So for our family of 4, we were still hungry.

I’m definitely not opposed to eating at a place that’s not too fancy from the outside because that’s usually where the best food comes from but in this case I was wrong. The pizza was what I would call the best of the frozen food section at Walmart because it wasn’t bad yet not great. The pizza was mediocre but reasonably priced so you can’t really complain. They do not take credit cards so if your not one to carry cash, such as I, then your in a pickle. I recommend this restaurant for a group of friends with a big appetite but a small financial budget.

I’ll make you a deal. Don’t come to my State of Wisconsin expecting great or even good Cajun food, and I won’t come to BR expecting decent pizza. How anyone can think this is good pizza is beyond me. Slushy, raw doughy crust, gristle pieces of sausage, and low moisture, obviously prepackaged cheese. Blech.

I am the Black half of a mixed couple and I’m not playing the race card but I found it strange that my fiancé and I sat for 15 minutes without anyone saying a word to us… no «we’ll be right with you,» no menus, silverware or anything. So, we left. I would give zero stars if possible.

I love the pizza here but the service seems to lack quality. I typically order to go bc of the service or lack there of but anytime I call in an order, which is a very simple order it seems like an inconvenience for the employees. I will continue to eat here bc I love the food but hopefully management will make some changes regarding the service.

I’m not sure what constitutes «the best pizza,» but Fleur de Lis Roman Pizza didn’t live up to that title for us. We had the shrimp pizza. The best thing about the pizza was the crust. Not much flavor to the shrimp, cheese, or sauce. It’s better than some chain pizza places, but I’ve had better pizza. I understand wanting to keep the original character of the building, but goodness. It’s funny because one of the guys at the table next to us said to their waitress, «I haven’t been here in over twenty years and nothing’s changed.»

Best Roman Pizza in town. My favorite is the Around the World with light anchovies add pineapple! If you get a chance, Stop by, it’s so worth it!

Like to check out Baton Rouge old school? This one is old and they have kept it that way.

* anchovies on pizza. They are a bit salty but for those who would like to try out might like it. (I found that with the anchovies I do not really like the meetza, and if you’re a meat eater you would like to keep that in mind.)

* most interesting to my mind was that they still have old school jukebox which does not have much sound but you can hear a faint version of Frank Sinatra etc on it. (which kinda adds on the old school look I must say)

This place is not just about pizza; it’s about an experience. Nostalgia seeps from every. thing from the bar lights, to the menu board to the fact you can’t really even figure out where the «front» door is. And it’s not «fake» or «manufatured» nostalgia. This stuff’s been on the walls since who-​knows-​when. It’s dark and old and awesome. They have pizza. Period. No salads, no apps, no hostess stand and the night we were there, a line out the door and a one hour ticket time on your pizza. It was worth the wait. If you’re looking for a cookie cutter modern restaurant, this is NOT for you, but if you’d ike to have a great thin crust pizza and a trip back in time, you’re in the right place!

Eat here about 6x/​year, most recently first Wednesday in 2016 — MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember is that this is CASH ONLY — no credit cards. Not sure about checks — so 1star less for that in this technologically crazed world. I know — if you are under 21, you are asking what is cash. This place serves bottled Coca Cola. Old building and as such décor looks outdated however that only adds to the experience in my opinion. Food served is pizza — you can build your own or get the all and fully loaded round the world which includes an anchovy option – yum yum.
My experience is that the pizza served here is not overly cheesy or lotsa sauce or thick crust so if either is a must for you then you might be disappointed. If not, the pizza is fresh and flavorful.
Oh yeah — large pizza served rectangular in shape.

Told this was the best pizza in town, got the most recommended thing on the menu. and …eh. It’s okay. The anchovy’s are a good idea in theory, but they put way too many resulting in a SUPER over salted pizza. The crust is delicious, I will give them that. The atmosphere is very ‘dive’ like and you cannot pay with your card. There is better pizza in Baton Rouge. This is good, but not the best. I have yet to find a pizza that tops Roma’s Pizza.

The pizza here is AMAZING. What’s up with all these crazy rules though? They only accept cash, can’t split tickets… My friend had a chocolate bar that she had in her purse and she took it out to eat it and the waitress told her to put it away? Huh? I understand the rule of not bringing in food from other places. But like. A chocolate bar? Come on. All in all, great pizza and cool hole in the wall.

Hidden gem. Only reason I took a star away is because the décor needs much improvement but if that doesn’t matter to you. .this is the best pizza I’ve had.

My colleague in Dallas recommended this place — and man am I glad he did! Very unassuming, but delicious no-​frills, delicious thin crust pizzas. Everything about the ingredients tasted right in combination: zippy tomato sauce, fresh and plentiful mozzarella cheese, toppings of your choice and the thin crust: not at all doughy or dry. I loved it! Friendly service too!

The best, the one and only pizza place in Baton Rouge. If its not from Fleur De Lis its not pizza. The around the world with shrimp is heavenly.

Although Fleur de Lis is one of Baton Rouge’s favorite (and likely oldest) restaurants, I’m not their biggest fan. Mostly this is due to the interior as I do think their pizza is delicious. I’ve just never been a fan of dark and dingy «Cheers”-like restaurants, especially when you are bringing kids into the mix.
Pro’s: I’ve always preferred crunchy, thin crust pizzas over thick, tummy-​bloating, crusty pizzas. They serve nothing but thin crust, and their famed «Around the World» pizza is really great. Very limited selection from what I noticed, but they were super crowded when we went as the pizza is just that good. They also do cute, unique things like short, plain glasses to pour your drinks into and no plates for the pizza as they are pre-​cut into small squares so napkins only required. Also, some of the decorations are cool as they are historic to the area and unique items on the walls.
Con’s: The service wasn’t the worst, but you could tell they don’t want to be bothered with special requests, like more napkins, chairs, etc. Perhaps they were just busy, but something tells me they have so much business, they just don’t bother putting up with «needy» customers.
My biggest beef was actually the bathroom, specifically the ladies. You walk into a tiny room… not sure if it’s a waiting room or just an unfortunate set up of wasted space, but hardly enough for one person to fit. Then, the bathroom itself had no ventilation, so I felt like I was suffocating while awaiting my two daughters taking turns on the potty. You would think for a place that’s been open for as long as they have, they’d take some time, consideration, and money into fixing this problem.
So…want my advice? Definitely plan to try the pizza from here as if you’re a thin crust fan like me, you’ll probably love it. BUT take it to go and skip the dine in experience as I plan to next time. You can check out the unique decorations and skip out before claustrophobia sets in like it nearly did for me.

Truly nostalgic

How does Fleur de Lis NOT get 5 stars? It’s the most nostalgic restaurant in Baton Rouge, and one of the 3 or 4 oldest as far as I know. I’ve heard out of towners complain about the size, the age, the décor, etc. But that’s the point. I know when I walk on that my dad saw the same Budweiser sign above the bar when his dad took him there for the first time.
Now I can talk about the food. I’m not a huge pizza guy, but I always find myself craving Fleur de Lis. I get the Around the World, no anchovies, add pineapple and shrimp. It’s loaded with toppings, and so full of flavor. I love the thin, soft crust and I love how the corners get crispy.
If you’re a drinker, order a beer. You’ll get a little 8oz frosty glass to refill from your cold bottle. They also have cokes and root beers in glass bottles.
It’s just an overall enjoyable experience, especially for a local.

Fleur de Lis Cocktail Lounge is my favorite hole in the wall pizza joint. It is THE perfect place to grab a bite after an LSU game, assuming you: a.) beat the stadium crowd, b.) are in the mood for some seriously delicious Italian pie, and c.) are carrying cash, as they inexplicably do not accept credit cards. IKR? Welcome to the 20^th century! Aside from that glaring inconvenience, prepare yourself for what’s sure to become a fixture on your Baton Rouge dining circuit.
The pizzas are rectangular and soft. I believe they’re baked on biscuit dough and come in two sizes: small, which is roughly as big as a standard sheet of paper (8 ½×11), and large, which is about twice that (11×17). It’s actually been a while since I’ve been there, so these are just ballpark estimates.
Around the World is their signature pie. As you may have guessed, It takes its name after a Duncan yo-​yo trick I once attempted on the playground at recess. Years later, it became internationally famous when Daft Punk wrote a song about it. Wanna hear it? Here it go … around the world, around the world, around the world, around the world, around the world, around the world, around the … ok, you get the idea.
Let me break it down for you: cheese, anchovies, mushrooms, Italian sausage and onions. Basically, if you aren’t a fan of hairy fish, you probably aren’t going to be down with ATW. Though substitutions and/​or omissions technically aren’t allowed on any of their specialty pizzas, you’re afforded the option of paying a little extra per topping in creating your own combination. These are fairly standard pizza parlor rules, so don’t go getting lippy with your server, mkay?
The shrimp pie is another choice selection. Regardless of what topping (s) you ultimately decide upon, you’re bound to be amazed at the tenderness of each Utopian square that enters your mouth. I have yet to encounter a better all-​around pizza, though Campisi’s Egyptian in Dallas manages to serve up a reasonable facsimile.
Sodas are served in 10 ounce bottles, so no free refills. Barq’s comes in a 12 ounce bottle, so if you’re the strategic root beer loving type, there’s that. For an unusual appetizer, try a pickled egg with onions. Or don’t have an appetizer. The menu is truly that limited.
While this place may be considered an institution, it’s also quite a dive. Pale pink and unassuming on the outside, poorly lit and rather dingy on the interior. This may have improved somewhat with Louisiana’s recent smoking ban. Truth be told, you’re not going here for the ambience. You’re on a mission from God. If you plan on drinking alcohol and/​or hanging out for a bit, be sure to bring a few quarters for the jukebox. If you can’t hear the tunes, ask the barkeep to turn up the volume. There’s a knob hidden back there somewhere.

Yes — it’s divey, yes –it’s kind of dirty, the parking lot is messed up, the ventilation sucks, and yes — the building is old.
They don’t take credit cards, drinks come in bottles rather than from a soda fountain — another reason many people complain about this place. If you’re a fan of commercial pizza places you should probably stay away.
That being said, I’m not a native of Baton Rouge, but I lived there long enough to know where all of the great restaurants are — and this is one of them. Fleur de Lis would not have been in business this long if they didn’t have great pizza. The «Around the World» with anchovies is their specialty and my personal favorite. My other option is the «Veggie» but I always added shrimp.
The crust is thin and crisp but there still plenty of mouth watering toppings — and just the right amount of grease. Something else is different about this pizza but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I ate here on many occasions during my time in Baton Rouge, and I’m not even the biggest fan of pizza. I’ve had better in larger cites, but this place is really great if you can get over the inconveniences and concentrate on food quality. Most of the bad reviews are centered on location and conditions.
I really miss Fleur de Lis and I’ll go back every time I visit BR.

Another one of my FAVORITE Baton Rouge staples. At first you walk in and you’re kinda like «whoa… a bit waaay too divey». But it’s awesome, crowded or not. It’s pretty much where I go to attain my «body by pizza». meaning I devour wayyyyy too much. My bf has been known to be one of those guys that can eat a whole large pie to himself. Well, he found his mate, because the last time we went, we ordered seconds. Meaning — we both pretty much ate a whole large pie to ourselves. Yea, we ordered the first «Around the World» pie (has everything on it, you can ask for anchovies on the side, but I love em, so bring it) and it took a good 30 minutes, but that’s okay, because it gave us time to enjoy some drinks and each other’s company and the random jukebox songs. It’s no-​frillls for sure. Knowing that they were busy but we were still craving MORE… we asked the waitress to put in another order anyways. She totally hooked it up and we got the next pie much sooner.
It’s my favorite pizza in Baton Rouge. If you’re going on a date here… be warned — you might end up smelling like a garlic clove by the end and gotta kiss (or not) first base goodbye.

The last few times my Baton-​Rouge-​born fiancé & I have been in town, we have missed Fleur-​de-​lis (as they are closed Sundays & Mondays). What can I say… timing is everything.
We finally made it 30 mins before closing this Tuesday (9:30 pm). Our server was friendly & served us an ice-​cold, bottled Abita Amber.
We took it to go & the pizza was scrumptious. Savory, salty & crunchy mingled with slightly sweet & luscious. It was different than most pizza I’ve had & I definitely like it. Then again, I like most dive bar places with a cult like following. Especially when the food is this tasty!

Tonight I ordered a Round the World pizza no anchoveys, extra cheese for carryout. It was ready in only 10 minutes & it was the best pizza I’ve had in a long time! I’ve been wanting to eat here for years but everytime I drove by there or thought about it the parking lot was sooo packed that I didn’t feel like dealing with it. The pizza had lots of toppings & the crust was thin, it was delicious! The only downside was the price. I thought $ 15 was pretty expensive for a large pizza that looked more like a medium. I will definitely eat there again.

Love this place… dark, tiny and divey… small bar, only bottled beer but otherwise a full bar and OUTSTANDING PIZZA!!! Stopped in around 5ish on a Friday with the boy in tow… Maybe 6 – 7 people in the place and they looked like drinking regulars not eating regulars, if you know what I mean… All the «good» people appeared to be getting their tasty pizza from the To Go window on the outside…
Wanted to try this place cause on the 1^st round of trying pizza in Baton Rouge this was on my list of Top 3 and it worked out this was last tried BUT after digging on the vibe of this place and stuffing that delicious pizza in my face the Fleur is definitely Numero Uno!
Followed by Oscar’s and the Mellow Mushroom… when you roll in here though be prepared to pay in cash… and enjoy some great pizza, Roman style!
