Yes it’s true– this place is terrible. Got a car battery here less than 2 years ago, warranty and all. This morning rushing to work and battery is dead. Needed a jump to get to work. Went here as soon as I got off of work with paperwork and all to get a new battery.
Oh too bad ma’am we are too busy to help you get a car battery today. Wtf? It’s at least and hour and a half before closing and you can’t get me a car battery? Seriously? How long does that take really? I have to work every day for the next 3 weeks, I don’t have time for this crap.
Too bad for me and my over priced warranty. Too bad for me that I really have to have a working car battery too. Decided to cut my losses. Despite the fact that I should have been able to get a new battery no charge with the warranty.
I went down the street. Sure enough, I walked into auto zone and they helped me out right away. Auto zone tested my battery — definitely dead– popped in a new one and I was on my way in no time. Other customers at auto zone agreed that pep boys is the worst.
Pep boys lost this customer and I will be sure to warn everyone I can to avoid the mistake of going here. How in the world does this place stay open??? Omg look at all the horrible reviews! The reputation of this place could bankrupt the whole franchise! Hello??? Does anyone with this company give a crap?

This was the worst service I’ve ever dealt with! The lady before me was asked all kinds of questions about what she wanted in a tire and they went over all the details of what they were gonna do, then my turn came and the counter person was more interested in her phone than helping me. I was told it would be 1 ½ to 2 hours well try 4!

I went to pepboys looking for new wheels, ready to spend nearly $ 600. I stood in the aisle for 20 minutes looking at the wheels displayed and being confused. I needed help and had been waiting since I walked it although hadn’t seen an employee since I walked in. Finally find one and they literally ran away from me and another one ignored me. So I go to find another one and what do they do? Put me on a computer and say I can find the info online… then disappeared. I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for
Worst customer service ever.

I used to use Pep Boys in Slidell and they were great. Since I bought my tires there I started using this store when I moved to the area. Every trip there has been a bad experience. I’m not going to spend the time to write it all out but I’ve had to take my car back several times for the same problems. Try just calling them. If they actually answer the phone is a small miracle.

I have visited pep boys several times now, & the guy at the tire department I think his name is Tom he is very rude and disrespectful how can a corporation of this size let this go unnoticed!

Unfortunately, I have to agree with every post that everyone else has put on here at this Pep Boy’s location & especially, the auto service mgr. Every time I have gone in there, he has been extremely rude and with just a few exceptions, so have all of the other employees in there. In fact, it appears to me that rudeness is a «quality» that Pep Boy’s values in their employees and it must be a prerequisite for being hired on there. Going in there is ALWAYS an unpleasant experience & one that I try to avoid at all costs. What I cannot understand is this… With all of these negative reviews, why hasn’t the regional or National management taken any real notice of these valid customer concerns & implemented changes with this store??? I would like to give this place ZERO Stars!

I brought my truck to Pep Boys at 9704 Airline Hwy. on 8÷19÷2014 to have a new battery installed. My wife and I have had our vehicles serviced there several times in the past, and have always been satisfied with the quality of service we have received. Since it was going to take about an hour and a half before my truck would be ready, my wife picked me up. We returned around 8:45 P.M. to pick up my truck after I was called and was told it was ready.
When I arrived at Pep Boys to drop my truck off, I parked it on the left side of the building near the service bays. When my wife and I returned to pick it up, however, I was disgusted to find that my truck had been moved to a handicapped parking space directly in front of the store. I asked an employee inside why my truck had been moved to a handicapped space when I don’t have a handicapped license plate or hang tag. His response was, «It’s just what we do; we always park people’s cars there before they pick them up,» and told me not to worry about it.

I have NEVER parked my vehicle illegally in a handicapped space, and never will. I have older relatives who have had to rely on handicapped parking, and it always angers me when I see people who are so inconsiderate that they would take handicapped spots from the people who truly need them. To have someone else leave my vehicle parked illegally in a handicapped space for me to possibly receive a ticket — or worse, have my truck booted or towed — is COMPLETELY unacceptable. What’s worse is that the employee couldn’t even give me a valid reason (of which there isn’t any) as to why my truck was parked there. The store was closing in 15 minutes when I arrived, and the parking lot was virtually empty. There were plenty of other legal parking spots to choose from.

Parking illegally in a handicapped space sends a clear message about the character of the owner of the vehicle (or lack thereof). It is a message that I had never sent until I unknowingly did so with my vehicle last night, simply by entrusting it to the Pep Boys employees for a couple of hours. While I will no longer be doing any business with Pep Boys, I also wanted to make others aware of what is apparently standard procedure at this particular location. What is being done is not only illegal, but also immoral and unethical, and whoever put that «policy» in place needs to be held accountable for his or her actions.

All I can say is WOW!!! No customer service skills at all!!! If the owner of this place doesn’t correct this important aspect of business this Pep Boys will continue to suffer!

I see why they have bad reviews. When your employees can’t answer a very simply question… close your doors.

I wish I could give no stars! My daughter’s 2009 Ford Focus broke down in Baton Rouge on her way home from New Orleans. We called AAA who sent their tow truck and requested it be taken to a Ford Dealership but the driver (Colin) said to take it to Pep Boys instead. What should have been a simple belt replacement turned into changing out 2 other things plus an alternator to the tune of $ 981.00. She left to head back to New Orleans and the car died on I-​10 before the next exit. This time, we had it towed to Hollingsworth Richards Ford. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!

I never review places, but I’ve decided this place deserves the worst possible review. We have been waiting THREE hours for a tire repair that we were told would take around an hour tops. When we asked what was the problem was the girl at the desk told us we would just have to wait, other people were more important. I would’ve given this place no stars but the website will not let me. Beware of this place, so unprofessional and rude. We will never ever come back. Beware.

My husband’s car began to overheat when we recently moved to Baton Rouge. We have had great experience with Pep Boys in California so that is where we went here in Baton Rouge. Different state, different service. The first time we took our car in they told us nothing was wrong after a $ 36 inspection and we drove off and proceeded to break down 2 days later. The second time they said we needed a fluid flush and an oil change so we did that so we followed their recommendation in the amount of $ 119. The third time they told us that we needed a new radiator in the amount of $ 456. In California that would be below $ 400. The customer service rep talked to us about the differences in labor costs from state to state and stated that Louisiana’s was higher than Cali… Really? Everything in California is more expensive than Louisiana, thus our move in the first place. Besides the fact that he was rude and ignored my husband for 40 minutes without offering to answer a question he was angry when I suggested that since their evaluation had been erroneous they should put the cost we had already paid toward the cost of the radiator. My husband decided to take the car to another service. Don’t go here. Rude, slow and unhelpful. Not like the Pep Boys we had come to trust and respect.
