Been coming here since I was a kid and the quality has not wavered at all. Incredible service, top quality ingredients and insanely low prices pretty much make for the perfect experience. Anyone who can SHOULD try Trinacria for themselves.

Trinacria is a gem hidden in west Baltimore! I used to work a block away and would stop in for lunch. Subs are delicious. This is where I pick up 7 layer/rainbow cookies — hard to find considering authentic Italian groceries/delis are rare outside of little Italy. Don’t forget the wine and variety of pastas, etc. They also have a location in Mount Vernon, but that one is more deli focused and less grocery.

This place is the best. There’s a reason why white, upper middle class people venture into Trinacrias in this«lovely» part of Baltimore. No need to say more.

The look of this place looks really run down. We almost walked right passed it. Inside the place, there’s bunch of Italian grocery items and in the back is the deli area where you can order food. I got the prosciutto sandwich and the Italian cold cut sandwich. The prosciutto sandwich was huge and it was good but it didn’t have enough flavor for me and just wasn’t my kind of sandwich. The Italian cold cut sandwich however I really enjoyed. I asked for everything in it and one of the ingredient was hot peppers and that gave that extra kick that made the sandwich very flavorful. I definitely would want to go back and try their other sandwiches and desserts(Italian cookies cannoli, etc). I might even buy some of their low priced wines they have for sale… low as $ 3.99! Definitely worth a trip if you want to try some authentic Italian subs.

I’ve been going to Trinacria’s for years and it has never disappointed me. Great place for picking up some groceries or lunch. It’s been there for over 100 years and hope it’s there for 100 more…

We stopped in for lunch just after 12 and we were helped quickly. Staff was courteous and helpful, I asked for a suggestion and she suggested the Mufaletta or coldcut. I chose the Mufaletta and the couldn’t be happier. Quality meats, quality tapenade, and quality bread. I also picked up a cannoli and the filling blew my mind. All at a reasonable price! Don’t be turned off by the exterior!!!

This seems like a great little Italian grocery/deli, of the kind that I’ve only seen in Italian neighborhoods in Boston and New York before. It’s probably nice for the people who work in this location to have it as a lunch option, and it definitely seemed like plenty of locals were dropping in to pick up sandwiches for lunch. This place also had loaves of fresh bread(prosciutto, olive, rosemary, baguette, etc) as well as cannoli and cookies, in addition to the grocery store stock of pasta, sauces, meats, and cheeses. The only disappointing thing for me was that I couldn’t justify buying more than a sandwich, because I wouldn’t be able to eat everything! I bought a prosciutto pannini with fresh mozzarella and roasted red pepper. It was enormous, meaning 6 – 8 square inches of sandwich; I’m saving the rest for tomorrow, since I had yogurt and fruit to eat, but i was tempted to finish the whole thing. The mozzarella was soft and fresh, and the proper was good, but I could’ve fine with more burnt/roasted flavor. This place also sells espresso drinks, which I unfortunately didn’t realize until after I’d already paid. The staff were friendly, if a bit brusque(because they were busy helping the many people who apparently love the sandwiches). Note: The store doesn’t have any seating, so it’s a place to pick up a sandwich, but not one to eat lunch out.

I first came to Trinacria for the amazing wine deals(great wine for as cheap as $ 4) however I soon started coming for lunch. Their sandwiches are HUGE, delicious and cheap! I love that they are wine/deli/bakery/supermarket all in one. Every one who works there is friendly and helpful. Though the location may deter people from going, I strongly suggest you reconsider.

Awesome little Italian market within the not so great part of Baltimore. Excellent place for a fresh Italian Deli Sandwich and a coffee. Make sure to capitalize on their cheap wine prices, imported NY cookies, fresh espresso, imported EVOO, and fresh cheese/meat. Definitely a place to visit during lunch time/daylight, and make sure to allot some time as it gets pretty busy. Love the sandwiches.

Super authentic little italian shop! It may look a little sketch on the outside, but head on in! They have super authentic Italian items — pastas, pasta sauce, fresh baked bread, wine, deli meats, cheeses, the list is ENDLESS. So many things to try! Boyfriend and I love their proscuitto bread and their garlic bread. We definitely want to go try the rest of their breads!(and for like $ 4, you get a large chunk!) Their deli meats are nice and fresh. Love the roast beef and ham that we tried. They have homemade canned pasta sauces — we tried the vodka sauce and it was good. We mainly came here because I saw on Unilocal that they had yummy sandwiches and shopping for other items was just another perk! We tried a chicken parm and a special sandwich(on their specials board) that I can’t remember the name of, but it was some type of veal. Both sandwiches were made hot to order and were absolutely delicious. They were probably around $ 10ish dollars or so give or take depending on the sandwich, but it’s worth it because these were pretty large sandwiches. Half of one was a pretty decent size for lunch for me! Bread was soft and yummy, the meats were hot, moist, and delicious. They were pretty decent chunks of meat and the melted cheese on the meat just made it great. Sauces were flavorful and just perfect! It’s so easy to spend a lot of money here. The deli meats and cheeses alone, might be on the expensive side, but it’s the price you pay for delicious fresh cuts of meat and authentic cheese. People working there were super nice and helpful even though they were swamped! Love service like that! This place is great, especially for boyfriend, who goes to pharm school. It’s great to pick up bread, cheese, and meat for quick meals and snacks when you’re swamped during the week. Definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches and their meats. You know this place is legit when it’s packed full of people and a lot of them are regulars!

What an incredible find. This is the best italian market and deli I have ever been too. The food is insane delicious and the staff is top notch. It was packed with people getting sandwiches and lunch. 4 dollar bottles of wine and anything italian you can find it there. They even stock proraso shaving supplies. Top notch place. See Mike.

The food here is delicious and authentic Italian. You can get a huge sub for $ 5 – 6, homemade pasta and sauces to make for dinner, and various other Italian items. Their baked goods are also really delicious. My favorite are their lemon cookies. The best thing is that you can also buy wine here!

I finally pulled it off, for the first time in decades! I went into Trinacria to get their bangin’ $ 3.60 house cold cut sub,(with everything plus extra hots) and left with only a sub. Do you have any idea of the willpower that required? If you don’t know and love this place like we do here, all of the other reviews here will explain it.

OMG! nuff said Native of NY tri-state area that loves to cook Italian homestyle? Stuck here in Baltimore area and need access to a back home Italian grocery store? THISPLACEISYOURSAVIOR cause the only place closer is in Philly and/or Jersey. One star was deducted because they stopped carrying GEL brand Black Pepper in the big 2 lb cans:(

Yum, yum, yum! What a surprise of a place. Really cool Italian mini grocery store with deli counter style food to order. They have pastas, sauces, $ 4 wines and some other hidden Italian gems. Got the prosciutto sandwich and a mini cannoli to go for lunch and it was a meal to remember! I love love love prosciutto and this was no exception. The mini cannoli left me wishing I had ordered a normal size one, because it was so yummy. Geographic location, obviously, is a little sketch, but worth the trek. Tip: sandwich sizes are massive, one half was enough for lunch.

This place is awesome. It’s kinda on the border of sketchy neighborhood, but it’s totally worth it during the day. I always get their prosciutto sandwich because the holy grail or pesto, mozarella, and prosciutto is amazing, and so worth the money. They absolutely pile in the prosciutto. They also sell yummy wine that’s super affordable. I always grab a few bottles as hostess gifts.

Everyone loves this place, but I must confess that I was disappointed. I ordered the daily special, a porchetta panini. My order was«to go» because there’s no place to sit down on the premises. My sandwich was wrapped in foil and then in butcher paper. It was huge, and it cost only $ 7.99 + tax. Walking away with my package, I congratulated myself for passing up the local Subway in favor of the *real thing*. I unwrapped my panini about 15 minutes after receiving it at the counter. It was limp and cheesy. There’s nothing fundamentally wrong that I can convey through descriptions like this, but the bottom line is that the sandwich tasted kind of «meh.» My sandwich alone would merit a two-star review. On the other hand, it’s abundantly clear that Trinacria Foods is awesome. It certainly has a lot of character. The customers who were around when I walked in were visibly regulars. They knew the personnel by name and were happy to greet a newcomer who ventured through the door(that’s me!). Trinacria has an interesting selection of Italian and US wines; I saw no bottle more expensive than $ 13.99. The neighborhood features what realtors call«disharmonious elements»: there were plenty of guys on N. Paca Street looking for action of one kind or another. I was struck by the«No Loafing» sign across the street and a few blocks south. Best to keep your eyes open around here.

Upon entering, I was immediately reminded of Boston’s North End, an area quite close to my heart. Nostalgia definitely washed over me. Trinacria is a small Italian market, selling everything from Cento products to San Pellegrino, plus awesome pastas, meats, oils, and desserts. Oh, and the wine. There’s a $ 4 brand they sell that it is great. The service is amazingly friendly. I completely felt at home here and can’t wait to return.

Since my last review, I’ve come to Trinacria many, many, many times. The culinary gods must certainly look down upon Trinacria with great favor. It’s awesome. First, I tried the bulk imported olive oil and it’s pretty good. I’m a fan. It’s definitely a great oil for cooking. However, if you want an olive oil where the flavors will be front and center(for like dipping bread in), it may not be flavorful enough. It’s not quite up to far with Cinghiale’s olive oil(which I adore)… but it also doesn’t cost $ 45 a bottle: P I also tried some of the frozen foods there. The squid ink lobster ravioli was pretty good, especially if you want something fairly easy to make after a long day of work. In terms of sandwiches, my favs are the muffaletto and the prosciutto & mozarella. They’re on the slightly salty side… but wow… they are packed with flavor and made with amazing bread. Which reminds me… If you come into Trinacria early(like 9ish) you will be treated to fresh baked breads that are still warm! It is so incredibly good. In the deli meat section, I only ordered the sweet Italian sausages… but WOW. This ain’t your grocery market Italian sausages. They’re so tender and have incredible flavor. There’s a good selection of wines that seem to vary in quality. The cheap wine is cheap and can be harsh tasting though. One of the more intriguing wines I saw was a wine that was mixed with chocolate milk. It’s pure decadence. If you hate sweet stuff or just appreciate wine straight without anything mixed with it, then pass. But if you have a sweet tooth, you might be pleasantly surprised. On a side note, its fun to take your out of town friends here and watch their eyes as you drive through a kinda sketchy neighborhood and say that we’re going to get food from the shop with barred windows and a tired, faded signs. But a few bites of the food and they’ll be willing to brave out the sketchiness for more! :)
