Established in 2001.
Big Bean Theory was born from Chef Eula McDowell’s dream to one day have a café to offer bean based cuisine’s that she over the years perfected in her kitchen.
A start at local farmer’s markets, as a personal chef and caterer would quickly propel Chef Eula as a formidable and popular source for delicious bean based cuisine.
Chef Eula is more than a great cook. Food is her art, and through her art, she creates amazing foods with sensational flavors that more than satisfies the palates of her customers.

Before there was The Big Bean Theory, I sold my soups and other fabulous food creations at local farmers markets and special events.
My passion for cooking with beans began over fifteen years ago with my grandmother, who challenged me with sage advice to bring something to the table other than complaints about her black eyed peas. That challenge was to make my own.
After speaking with my mother, and receiving one of her recipes that I tweaked to my liking, I presented my dish at the next family gathering. It was a hit, and I’ve been creating and perfecting bean based cuisine since.
