The B-More Box

History

Established in 2014.

The Bmore Box Founder and lifelong Marylander, Cory Shaffer, who currently resides in Upper Fells Point, realized just how rich in flavors, culture and history Baltimore had to offer when he set out to explore the neighborhoods all around Baltimore and Maryland. The Bmore Box is a win-​win for both its members and its partners. The partners, who are local, small business owners, broaden their products’ customer base with Theb​more​box​.com members and the members get a box each month filled with Maryland based food, snacks, memorbilia, art and much more. They then can click on the partners page within the Theb​more​box​.com website which links them to the product sources so they can reorder their favorite items.

My legacy in the Baltimore area began with our great-​great grandparents who emigrated here from Copenhagen, Denmark and began a small florist business in the North Baltimore neighborhood of Govans. For generations our family has appreciated the rich history of our state, collecting and archiving antiques from the area. Our grandfather is still an avid antique bottle collector and his mother collected old tins and crates. Featured on the Bmore homepage are a few product shots with her Baltimore Biscuit box and an old Baltimore whiskey jug from our grandfather’s bottle collection.

The idea for the Bmore Box came to me in early 2014 when I realized all the great, locally-​made items being crafted right here in Maryland. After seeing what other cities had to offer, I decided to create The B-​More Box, a monthly subscription box that highlights the best of Greater Baltimore, Annapolis and Maryland.
