Thank God There is Great Cuisine from Fe & Ce

I really wasn’t blown away when I caught Thank God at the Fells. Based on the name, I wasn’t even going to give it a shot, but then I saw it was Portuguese. I got really excited and looked at the menu. It only took me minutes to decide on the «Gourmet» burger. At 10 bucks, with a drink and fries, this was a sure-​fire deal. Then I waited.
I was second in line — and this is a major problem for a food truck. You have to be able to take orders fast, but this was one guy doing everything– so props to that. In the end, the line of 6 customers, only 4 stuck around to order. Though, the food did come out in a reasonable amount of time once it was ordered.
Once I got back to the office with they Styrofoam container of food, I eagerly opened it up to find a luke-​warm burger (quarter-​mile walk in 85 degree weather) on top of a wonderful onion roll. The burger was rather small, though thick. Biting into it, the beef was mediocre at best. The «Gourmet» was iceburg lettuce, a fresh tomato, and mayo. It was passable as a diner burger — but certainly not gourmet. Any hints of promised anchovies (or sardines — I’ve since forgotten which) were not to be found.
The fries were slightly burnt tasting — which is okay, but just be aware.
In the end, while it wasn’t a great lunch, the price (10 bucks, 11 with tip) was pretty good for the combo — but it really wasn’t what was advertised.
