Sleep Inn & Suites Downtown Inner Harbor

This review is for the Sleep Inn at 301 fallway, Baltimore Maryland. .Check in was ok, helpful over the phone. Check out was insulting ! We had to wait for the woman at the front desk to call housekeeping, they had to make sure I didn’t steal something from the room. bathroom was dirty when we got there, someone used it and didn’t flush. Walls are thin and you can hear the toilets flushing and people taking a shower as the water goes down the pipes, you can hear everything in the hallway. I was not able to sleep at night because of the activity in the hallway and the flushing toilets upstairs, the air conditioner has some type of sensor at the door and if you stop moving it turns off the a/​c. So you need to get up and change setting every so often.

Booked thorough Kayak for $ 96 a night including taxes, however that did not include the $ 15 a night parking fee.
We were on the 2^nd floor, heard almost no exterior noise from outside, but we heard almost every footstep and cough from other guests. Yes, the walls are thin.
Our room was a nice size with 2 full beds. Our rooms HVAC unit didn’t function properly. It was annoying since the temperature fluctuated a bit, but more so because we needed the fans background noise and the fan wouldn’t stay on. We ended up downloading a free background noise app to help.
The location was perfect, about a half mile walk down Gay St. to the inner harbor attractions. Yes, we felt very safe walking that during the day.
At night we used Über to get around. It was very convenient and these were some of the best Über drivers we ever experienced. Most of our rides were about $ 8 and super friendly.

I stayed at this hotel for ~6 weeks while working in Baltimore and was very happy with my stay. Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was great– easy walk to anything Inner Harbor and short drive to Fells Point bars and restaurants. I traveled with my dog and never felt unsafe taking her out across the street from the hotel. My only complaint was spotty wifi at times when the hotel was really full. Through the week I had no issues whatsoever. Bonus– there’s a huge farmers market Sunday mornings a block down the street under the overpass that’s totally worth checking out!

This hotel was great. My room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. I also loved the modern décor throughout the whole place. Customer service was also amazing.
I was in Baltimore for a family members’ surgery at John’s Hopkins. We were given a discount on the room, a free shuttle service to and from the hospital and free parking. The shuttle driver, Preston was super accommodating and friendly.
In the mornings the hotel offers free breakfast which is also a plus. Debi, a lady who worked for the hotel found out we were there for a family members’ surgery and offered to make us a to-​go box of snacks and breakfast to take with us to the hospital because she knew it was going to be a long day for us. She was so nice and thoughtful.
Sleep Inn made me feel right at home during my stay, and for a great price. I actually am staying there again in a few weeks!

We took the stay and cruise parking option and couldn’t have been happier. The shuttle was extremely nice and the manager’s reception the night before (Thursday night starting at 5:30) was incredible: meatballs, cheese and crackers, cookies, beer and wine, etc. My son also wanted to thank them for putting some bottled water and complementary snacks in the room. I’d like to mention some employees, but I do not have all their names. Please excuse the descriptions: the two lovely black ladies (one had super fun purple hair and the other was so friendly put out the amazing food), and Debi who facilitated breakfast. It was the first amazing breakfast I’ve had at choice hotels in a long while and all because she put out HOT SAUCE for the eggs! They really go the extra mile, and it made such a difference. I almost started avoiding the brand until I came here!

The hotel was clean and comfortable but best of all was the staff. They went above and beyond to make your stay great. They answered any questions we had and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Definitely would come back and recommend.

OMG what a nightmare! Our room wasn’t clean when we arrived at 630pm. They were going to make us wait while they cleaned it instead of giving us a new room!!! Parking is $ 50/​night but the parking is NOT secure or gated. There is a juvenile detention center directly next door, drunks walking the streets everywhere and homeless sleeping on the benches nearby, to include a «tent city» just a half block away. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!

This Inn has been a wonderful ray of light as our family navigates through the fog of cancer treatment. Lana was exceptionally wonderful as she helped me schedule my stay, and she answered all of my questions in a professional and friendly manner.

Stayed here on new years eve and the rates were great. This is the first sleep inn that i have stayed at that they call you the day before to confirm your reservations. Nice .upon receiving the phone call i asked her what did the breakfast consist of because most choice hotel’s usually just have sausage as their meat portion but she told me that they also had turkey bacon. I was pleasantly surprised :) As you can see I’m big on the breakfast thing. Well everything was great. room was nice and they had all the amenities that was needed to serve our purpose for 1 night .my overall stay was enjoyable and the front desk staff was very pleasant. If you want a nice clean hotel with a reasonable rate while in the Baltimore area give them a try.

I’m so glad this hotel was better than expected. Being as cheap as they were when I bought it. They were so clean, welcoming and friendly. The lobby was well decorated. The room was HUGE! I bought a standard room. The bathroom was big enough for me (includes a shower, not a bathtub). The bed was so comfy after a long night of drinking. It’s such a close walk into the harbor, too. You don’t even need a taxi — 10 minutes tops. I did love their breakfast as well. Everything was just great for me!
I had went to the hotel beside this one earlier in the year, Holiday Inn Express, but I’ll definitely choose this one over Holiday Inn anytime.

Security was extremely rude, staff not too bad but not very helpful. Stayed here on New Years Eve, which I understand they were probably booked for, but it was a horrible experience and I wouldn’t go back. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that would be a far better choice.

Oxymoron of a name. Noisy construction, guest, dogs and staff is a problem.
Helpful staff does not compensate for the rooms being place next to main exit and breakfast center. There is the ability to have installed sound barrier doors, but they didn’t. If a quite room it what you want, do not stay here unless they guarantee you a room away from lobby, restaurant area.

Wonderful place. Great Value, wonderful staff, room/​bathroom was clean and comfortable. The hotel is an easy walk to Little Italy, Fells Point, Inner Harbor. This is my go to hotel when I stay in Baltimore.

I got a great deal to stay here Christmas Eve on the way to visit family in the Baltimore suburbs. I caught the Metro to the Shot Tower station and walked the additional two blocks. Matt at the front desk was so efficient and friendly, which started the visit off on a good note.
The room itself was a decent size for one person and had the standard accoutrements: coffee maker, flat screen television, lots of pillows, and everything you’d expect in the bathroom. The king bed was firm and supportive, and the pillows were surprisingly supportive; normally I get those awful fluffy pillows that compress down to nothing when I stay at hotels. The shower was decent enough for water pressure and heat. Minor complaints: the shower door didn’t quite shut and the shower smelled a smidge mildewy.
The walls are quite thin, which was not ideal since I had a room overlooking the southern end of the Jones Falls Expressway/​I83 and there was a toddler somewhere nearby. I think adding earplugs to the list of sundries offered by the front desk would address this problem quite well. (They weren’t listed in the guest book, but I didn’t ask the front desk about it because it wasn’t a major issue for me – maybe they do offer earplugs.)
Since I was only here for one night to crash, I can’t speak to the location other than to say that it’s sufficiently close to the Shot Tower station and I83, and there are plenty of restaurants that deliver to the hotel. I think you’d have to walk a couple of blocks to find food otherwise. The breakfast on offer was pretty standard, nothing special, but it got the job done.
All things considered, this is a pretty good deal for the money.

Nice hotel at a good price. Good water pressure too. The rooms are pick black with the blinds closed, you can sleep forever on accident. I highly recommend this hotel.
The cons: parking $ 15 a night. No vent in bathroom. He towel bar within arms reach of the shower. You have to exit to get a towel.

I was struck by the beautiful water walls that accent the lobby of this Inner Harbor Boutique Hotel. And I was impressed by the Re-​Use concept that parent company — Choice Hotels International, Inc. — has created in converting this old warehouse. I’ve always been a fan of preserving history while creating new uses for many of the old buildings that are often — cast aside. And I’m pleased that this one survived.
The entryway and lobby are inviting in both design and atmosphere and I found my business suite to be simple, clean and well designed. At the point of our experience here were people like Sabrena who we met at check in. She followed up with a phone call to my room after I checked in to make sure that everything was in place, invited our party to sample the freshly made lemonade in the lobby, assisted with some supplies I’d managed to lose along the way and directed me to where my appointment was across town. She genuinely cared and I was genuinely impressed.
All in all — a great stay in an awesome building that’s ‘close to’ everything you want to experience in Baltimore.
Please note: I don’t typically rate Hotels based on a continental or hot breakfast included in the stay. So that is ‘not’ part of this review.

Very very clean, reasonably priced, but dangerous for your car.
Rooms — very large and recently redone. Coffee amenities in room. Shampoo and soap provided. Unique shower installation, no tub, feels as if you’re entering a separate room. Corner holder for soap etc is wire so things are always falling thru. Line it with a washcloth first.
FREE WIFI in the rooms.
I found the bed just too firm for me. My other family members were fine with it.
Television had great selection of channels.
Front desk competent and friendly.
Complete breakfast included. Waffles, oatmeal eggs, sausage, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, the works.
Not walkable to the main Inner Harbor but a Charm City Circulator stops in front of the hotel. This is not a safe area to walk around after dusk.
The parking. Here’s where I have negatives. My driver’s window (and someone else’s) got busted. Nothing to steal from mine, so instead my CDs got scattered over the parking lot. They stole a rag I keep to wipe off crumbs, a small container of bandaids, and the cords to my GPS and Blackberry. Maybe they cut their hand breaking the window and used the rag and bandaids. Police came quickly. Mentioned it was an ongoing problem. Police station across from hotel, but turn around and you’ll see a juvenile facility. Hotel has cameras in the lobby but not in the lot. They’re not responsible. See the sign? They’re not responsible. Yet, they still charged me $ 15 per day with no responsibility. Who helped me the most? A random good Samaritan noticed me struggling to put plastic on my window in the rain, stopped his pickup truck, turned into the lot, ran over in the rain with heavy duty plastic and better tape. Before I could thank them properly, they were helping the other person.
I did get a voicemail from a manager later in the day expressing regret but she did not remove the parking fee. It’s not her responsibility.
Updated to add: For about a month, I wondered why I kept seeing small purple glittery feathers on my clothes. Then I realized the driver’s seat had quite a few of these feathers. I think someone wearing a purple boa that was shedding glittery feathers may have been the thief.

I liked this hotel. Now you may see some questionable people walking around but their are questionable people every where. The hotel is 4 block from inner harbor and little Italy and its not pricey. Plus it’s super clean. I have never seen this many people clean so much. Every where I looked people where cleaning. It made me think the pinesal lady was going to jump out and give her ad. The rooms are small bit cute and comfy. They have what you need a comfy bed, tv, big desk and a hot shower. Perfect! Oh yeah I forgot about the free breakfast. That is right up my ally. Waffle maker, cereal, fruit, different types of tea and coffee, sausage, eggs and oatmeal. You are set.
I felt safe and I came by myself and had a great time.

Pros:
Pretty low cost for a Baltimore hotel considering how nice it actually was
Approachable, attractive looking rooms
Cons:
If you’re uncomfortable being in an area of town that’s not that well developed, it can be a little unnerving (but you’re in Baltimore)
The breakfast.
My family and I stayed at the Sleep Inn for one night on Saturday, August 12^th. We arrived a couple hours prior to check in, but they allowed us to go in anyway, and upgraded one of our two rooms due to our status as rewards members. We were able to park in a lot adjacent to the hotel, with additional parking available on the street and in the front of the hotel (which could be limited on all three fronts). I will note that the hotel straddled the «nicer» and «less nice» areas of the city, but I never felt unsafe, especially being next to the police precinct. We brought out items up and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms. The pictures posted are helpful, but of the three hotels we stayed at (all in the same price range), this was by far the best looking. The bed was large and rather comfortable, and the complementary snacks were a nice touch.
The amenities of the hotel were all in check. The wi-​fi was a bit touchy but once you were logged in, it was completely fine and fast for a hotel network. The showers had glass doors and while a tad inconvenient, had strong temperature control, water pressure, etc. The TVs were updated flat screen units, and everything worked as it should.
In terms of customer service, I have one good point and one bad one. On the good side, the front desk staff were very competent, had answers to all our questions, and even had a transportation provider who saved our butts after we were stuck in the rain in Baltimore. My one negative, lasting thought is probably the most petty thing I’ve ever written on Unilocal,but it’s stuck. The breakfast itself wasn’t bad, but the man responsible for managing the breakfast area was obnoxious. He pushed me out of the way several times to get to other areas of the breakfast bad, reprimanded me for using the waffle iron incorrectly (when the spray was hidden and there were no additional instructions saying to use this clandestine spray), and took my food away early. As I said, very petty of me to complain, but it has kept with me.
If I go back to Baltimore, I will go back to Sleep Inn very happily, it’s a budget effective option not too far out of the action that, IMO, is a step above your usual $ 100 dollar hotel option. However, I may just skip the breakfast next time.

I really liked my stay here. I was in town for the weekend for the War of 1812 Bicentennial, which was pretty cool. I picked this place because it looked close enough to inner harbor and it was a good price.
The room was a nice size, very clean and the staff was helpful. The hotel itself looked very new and all the furnishings, sheets, etc. looked well maintained. The breakfast was great too. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel.
If I ever need to stay in downtown Baltimore again, I’ll definitely try to stay here.
