I also agree Schneider’s is great. It is small, but they will have nearly everything you need to make all the basic repairs for your home. The owner is super friendly, they sell seasonal plants at a great price, & can make extras of most keys. Prices are the same or cheaper as Home Depot/Lowes. If they sold paint I wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

Love this neighborhood shop! Parking is easy, the lines aren’t long and you can always have great conversations with the owner. He knows what he is talking about and is very helpful in finding what you need. This shop has been in his family for generations and used to be a grocery store. It feels like home when you walk in. This is my first choice, over Home Depot, Lowe’s, ect.

Oh please! When the coldness and disappointment of mega stores has you feeling alienated and depressed… just drop by Schneiders for renewed faith that this city still has pockets of small town charm, grace and all the character that comes with it. The owners are the bomb as are their employees. The shop is small compared to those other guys, but has all the ‘stuff’ necessary for the 100 yr. old homes that surround it. And if this isn’t enough… go around back to his wife’s shop. An oasis of flowers, herbs and accessories for the yard. Kind of like the ‘Cheers’ show, but instead of alcohol… it’s flowers and hammers all the way. And if you are lucky, you will run into Ricky, the mail carrier. p. s.~ I have been a patron of Schneider’s for 20 years.

Great hardware store! You can always find what you need to in Scheider’s. I like going here when I need to just get a few things. The guy who runs it knows what he’s talking about. They’ve been voted«Best of Baltimore» for Hardware Stores in Baltimore Magazine, and the City Paper several times I believe.
