1st time there today. Staff were welcoming, quick, and helpful. Lots of delicious choices to create a quick Mexican meal. I ordered a quesadilla– made fresh and delicious. The environment inside is a welcomed oasis for ‘fast food’ close to the Hippodrome.

When in doubt — this place will fill you up and tickle your taste buds. This place is always clean, the service is always kind and I get a lot for my buck. I am a fan of this place when I need to get out of the office for lunch

Sufficient and in my humble opinion, a wee more desirable than Chipotle b/c this girl is a major fan of queso/fundido and the taco salad! I havent tried too much here, so I will keep it brief. The food could have been fresher and there needs to be more staff, people love their burritos!. all in all, good enough for a quick lunch or dinner. I was full for the rest of the day after my taco salad. Oh and they charge extra for just about everything, oh well. Yum!

This was my first and last visit to this location. After getting off work from the Hippodrome, I was looking for a quick bite. There was no line but it felt like it was forever before the staff member looked up from his cell phone to service us. He kept complaining about not wanting to be there and he wanted more sleep. Somewhat rude when I asked some questions. Most of his replies were«it’s like Chipotle» WELLTHENEXTTIME I’M JUSTGOINGTOGOTOTHEREALCHIPOTLE. The burrito was lacking favor and something was wrong with flour tortilla(tasted funny) of course he said same as Chipotle, I had to say ‘no it’s not’… Most people have to remember when you apply for these type jobs, you said you have good customer service skills… well now is the time to show them!

(02/26/2014) Salsarita’s is convenient to the UMMS. It’s the place that we frequently call«Bad Burrito». Really, what you really want is Chipotle, but there isn’t one down here. I like the option of a «small» vs. «large» burrito. They’ve got a sufficient variety of fixings, but everything overall has a distinctly canned/metallic quality to it: pickled jalapenos, plain sliced black olives, canned corn, jarred salsa. I know every commercial place is going to have some pre-packaged goods going on, but it feels like Salsarita’s just opened and dumped. Bonus: it’s reasonably priced.

The biggest problem was they were waaaay under-prepared! I was in Baltimore for the Pearl Jam concert, and Salsarita’s is around the corner, thought we’d get some food. Of the 3 people working there only one was doing anything. The girl preparing food was working her arse off, the cashier was a lazy slob, and some random guy stood in the corner and periodically straightened tables. There was a line, and they ran out of everything. My wife had the last chicken, when we sat down they were out of steak too. The shrimp was long gone… no guacamole to be seen. Took so long to get checked out that my soft taco tortilla was cold and stuck to the paper. But here’s the think about it, the steak, pico de gallo, cheese and cilantro was pretty tasty, shockingly so. I was not impressed at all, it had potential, but my experience turned me off. Also the«pizza» they sold looked disgusting, why would someone eat that garbage, just sayin’

They have a different special every day for lunch, you get a TON of food for what you’re paying, and on top of that it’s super fresh. Really solid place!

Salsarita’s = Qdoba — Chipotle Daily weekday specials make it an affordable lunch option any day /night of the week. They offer small and large sizes which is a refreshing alternative to other places, plus they offer pizza like items. As for those small burritos they are tiny and are really overpriced when certain ingredients are added. Take for example my small shrimp fajita burrito, which was $ 9 something after taxes for just the burrito. It was overstuffed with shrimp so it wasn’t too bad, but in reality I could’ve had more for my money at alternative burrito shops. As for the flavors I wasn’t really too impressed but I am sure there are better options than what i choose. 3 stars.

I was dropping a friend off to see a show at the Hippodrome and needed to satisfy my craving for dinner. I wasn’t in the mood for any of the other food joints nearby and I spotted Salsarita’s(If you have a craving and need food Mexican is a sure way to fill up). I had never been here before, but it reminds me of a Qdoba or Chipotle with a little bit more authenticity. I ordered a bowl instead of a burrito meal because I didn’t need the extra tortilla filling. I chose rice, black beans, pork, medium salsa, cheese, and sour cream. I would have ordered guac but since this reminded me of a Qdoba and Chipotle I figured it would cost extra… come to find out after wards that it’s included in the price, so I missed out this time around. My friend ordered a bowl as well and an order of chips and salsa for us to share. I love using chips to dip into my bowls so I did just that… but it was an epic fail. The CHIPS are extremely FRAGILE and break so easily that you can’t scoop your food onto them, let alone even dip them into regular salsa without them falling apart. I think everything had decent flavoring not exactly the same as Qdoba and Chipotle. The prices are fair and reasonable, you certainly have more meal and combo options which the other food chains don’t give you.

I equate Salsarita’s to Qdoba and Chipotle, without as good of a burrito. Stopped in because it was merely the only thing close to the Hippodrome in downtown Baltimore. The prices were relatively the same as any other on-the-go mexican meals. I ordered the bowl(rice, beans, chicken, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, corn salsa) and it was rather filling. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa. Of course, you’re never given a sufficient amount of salsa compared to the amount of chips you get. but such is life. However, I need to highlight that the chips were so «fragile» that every time you dipped it into the salsa, they would break apart. Not ideal to have to pick tortilla chips out of salsa. Essentially Salsarita’s is quick and convenient if you need to grab a quick bite to eat before a show at the famous Hippodrome.

This place has gone downhill. A few yrs ago it was great. Now its always empty and quite honestly the food is always disappointing. Stick w chipotle.

More variety than chipotle to me. This is probably one of my favorite places to eat during lunch breaks. Its a more commercial place for mexican but it has colour and personality. I’ve had plenty of good times coming here with co-workers. You can get a huge burrito or taco salad or mexican pizza. Its notable to mention the perfect interior design of having the entrance lead straight to the front of the line and once you cash out you are directly in front of the exit. Call me weird but I love the order in that design. Simple and easy so no weird long lines that confuse me like at Chipotle. Don’t get me wrong I still love Chipotle but they got some serious competition in Salsarita’s. Good food, fast service keep me coming back and I’m pretty sure I’ll keep on coming.

Salsarita’s Baltimore ave. DON’T DOIT. trust me Don’t. If you want chicken that tastes like skunks smell, go right for it. I got a quesadilla for my daughter and when I opened it up to feed her it was covered in really nasty grill scraps. Not the little dark crusty’s that get stuck on things you grill but big black leafy things. (Scrape your grill off, just use the spatula!) Place is dir-ty. I went in the evening to this joint and almost decided to go somewhere else because it looked closed. It was sure enough open. The lighting was really low so I didn’t see much of the condition on cleanliness until I got to the pay part of the process where the light is brightest. Behind the soda fountain are the makings of a new civilization. Yes! Things on the wall that look like they could be alive, and if allowed to grow could take over the city of Baltimore! Where’s MIB when you need them?! Skunky chicken, grill scraps, growing a new civilization. Don’t do it. I gave California Tortilla on Pratt a 1 but this joint is truly worse.

So we just moved to Baltimore and needed a quick meal at 8:30p. Lucky for us, this place was open and right by our building. We walked in and placed our order, it was quick and reasonably priced. They close at 9 so they had started prepping for that, but I felt the service was courteous and straight forward. The food tasted fresh and we were fulfilled after the meal. If you like chipotle, moes or any other burrito tex mex style place, give this a shot. They are usually busy at lunch during the weekdays but the service and cook time is quick.

We recently went to Salsarita’s for a business lunch. First off, this place gets very busy at lunch. We waited approximately 10 minutes for our turn, but that was actually a good thing, since the menu is quite extensive. The restaurant offers traditionaly fastfood south-western fare, including tacos, burritos, and quesadilla’s, giving it a bit more variety than your run of the mill Chipotle. They also do variations such as salads and pizza, should you be in the mood for such. I had the chicken burrito with hot salsa, and, since I was in a rush and did not think, got the combo, which includes a full portion of tortilla chips and another portion of salsa(which actually allowed me to sample the medium as well). With a drink included, the price of approximately $ 8 was reasonable for lunch. The food itself was decent. The burrito was reasonably large, the fillings were fresh, and the chicken tasted fresh, which is always good in a fast food place. The salsa was pleasantly spicy, albeit a little watery, and the chips were crunchy enough. Overall a decent place for lunch. Nothing too fancy, but an alternate.

If you’re looking for a quick, simple, filling dinner, than Salsarita’s will satisfy you. If you’re looking for a delicious meal, look elsewhere. I stopped in here while in town for a conference. I ordered a chicken burrito. It was very big, and tasted fine. Nothing special, but not bad either. Their salsa is also very watery and just tastes okay.

This is a very busy during lunch time, but the line moves decently quick here. The food is decent and convenient. A major bonus here is that there doesn’t seem to be any restrictions on what you can top your: burrito, quesadilla, nachos, taco salad, taco pizza, or tacos. The toppings bar has more variety than the other major competitors and typically consists of: 2 types of beans, rice, shredded lettuce, romaine, tomato, cilantro, corn salsa, 3 salsas of varying heat, chopped red onion, fajita-style vegetables, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and a few other things. There are no restrictions here it seems and you don’t have to pay extra to get guacamole or queso. Also, this place does combos(meal comes with a refillable drink and chips with salsa or queso/rice & beans) and two sizes for burritos. Both of these things, I wish Chipotle would pick up. The only issue here is that it may be hard to find seating during the lunch hour rush.

I went here on the recommendation of a co-worker of mines. I went and picked up a chicken burrito, and I will say it was decent at best. During lunch times hours, there will be a line waiting to get served, so prepare in advance. The line moves pretty swiftly; think Chipotle and how they move its customer in and out of the line. Oh yeah, FREEREFILLS! I can’t forget to mention that. You can either sit-in or carry out, your choice. They have multiple flat-screen TVs around the restaurant to watch anything from CNN to ESPN. Would I come back to Salsarita’s? Yes, I would. However, if I had my choice of Chiptole or California Tortilla, Salsarita’s would be my third pick.

Salsarita’s would not be my number one choice if I had my pick of burritos, but it’s not half bad either. The portions are smaller than what you would get at Chipotle, but the food is better than California Tortilla.(But nothing compares to Anna’s Taqueria). It’s convenient, quick, the food is fresh, and you don’t have to pay extra for guacamole – which I think is the best thing it has going for it.
