I bought a few things from The Pied Piper, and one of the items was too small for my baby. We live over an hour away from the store, so I wasn’t able to return the item within the unusually short period of time for returns. I went in the store with my item to exchange, and God forbid if you have to go back to the store for a return. All the employees stare at you with wild eyes like you’re doing something wrong. You walk to the register with your heart beating fast because you don’t know if the employee will be nice and cooperative or stiff and unhelpful. In my case, the lady looked at the unworn, unused merchandise with tags, then viewed at the receipt, and gruffly says«This is from April. This is a 4 month old item. We can’t return it, sorry». I explained to the lady that the elastic band on the garment was too tight on my baby, and insultingly said with a snare«Hah. You didn’t return it sooner?» I told her that it is an hour drive with no traffic, which is rare. Finally, after much back and forth, she said she would make an exception just this time. That’s when I spent 45 minutes with my daughter in a store that has very limited selection of products. I finally found two reasonable items, not perfect, but just fine. Then I went to the register to check out, and the lady takes the items, scans them, and then credits me only 50% of my return. At no point did she ever make the effort to inform me that I would only receive 50% of the price I paid for the item. She told me the difference I would have to pay, and not realizing the deception, I swiped my card. But after seeing such a disparity in the transaction, I asked how much did I get back on my return? Instead of the $ 60 I paid, she said I was only getting back $ 30, which is half the price. I ask her why, if she said she was making an exception for me? She said, «I am making an exception by even considering to return your item». I asked to speak to the manager, so they told me the manager would contact me on Monday after the weekend. They also told me the transaction I just completed was canceled, yet on my long drive home, I get a call from them saying that they did not cancel my transaction, and I would need to call them to cancel it, which I found highly unprofessional. I receive a call from the manager on Monday, and after much back and forth and explaining that what the lady told me and that I wasted 45 minutes of my time, the manager said this was a misunderstanding. After that, she said that she cannot help me beyond giving my half off the return. I am very disappointed, and I wish I had given my business to a store that knows how to treat it’s customers properly.

Like this store. they have fabulous baby clothes and brands that you would find at Barneys say in NYC, but also other brands. Also have Melissa and Doug toys.
