Lots of options. Bread Pudding looks sinful… Prayer after. Enjoyed the free cookie on Unilocal.Always here for the scones. One of the few places I can find them.

The lady behind the counter was pleasant and patient with us as we made our selections. The bakery itself was quaint and warm. There were a few small tables where you could sit and eat. I had the lemon raspberry mini cake and it tasted fine, although it was a bit mushy on the inside. My friend liked his vanilla cupcakes but my husband had to literally stab at his chocolate mousse cake before he could get a bite. Both his cake and mine were overly sweet. I also got a chocolate cake bite. The icing was gritty but the cake inside was rich and moist. We also purchased an éclair but it was very dry so we just tossed it out. I wouldn’t go there again.

They were closed 12÷17÷15 by the Health Department for heavy rodent infestation, expired food and unsanitary conditions. I’ve been wanting to go here but not until they address this situation.

Food from here is definitely homemade. I love the pizza granted look wise was cramped into the box, but the taste was fantastic. The grilled cheese sandwich was excellent as well. To be honest I find no fault with the only exception go there and get the food. Delivery the pizza is hot but the other items won’t be hot, still good but better fresh out.

Cupcakes were meh, ordinary… a little too sugary and not moist enough.

Ordered from this place through order up and while the cupcakes we great, super moist and pretty it wasn’t what I ordered. I order 8 cupcakes 2 yellow cake with chocolate icing, 2 red velvet, 2 chocolate on chocolate and 2 carrot cake. Instead of them telling me they didn’t have the flavors I order they sent me whatever and since I didn’t check the order I couldn’t call to complain.

Everything I’d had here has been good. The standard is very high, and recipes are creative (banana split cake, lemon coconut cookies, cinnamon cupcakes, etc.). The one knock is that the bread isn’t as great as the desserts. But the staff are friendly and the prices are good. This is the more modern, ‘wow’ bakery in the area, while the Woodlea and the Fenwick are the classics. This place has very good lunch specials too.

Yep! Love this place! I’ve tried the red velvet whoopi pies, red velvet cake, carrot cake cupcake, the chocolate cupcake (maybe called sinfully chocolate), the lemon coconut cookies, almond bites, coffee, and triple chocolate cookies… well, this place has delicious treats! Every time I go, I’m greeted with a cheerful hello and end up in a conversation like me and the baker are old friends. She has let me sample a cookie or two and I find that very helpful (in deciding what to try). Overall, this is a small bakery, with some delicious goodies. I’ve gone in before to grab n’ go, and i’ve also sat down, read a magazine while sipping my coffee. Next, I will try the sour dough or french baguette. Keep up the good work!

If you’re looking to cater for breakfast, trust that Hamilton will provide a wonderful spread– Reuben (owner of Hamilton) communicated with me to perfect my order… An assortment of quishes, breakfast sandwiches and croissants were a hit for a number of dietary accommodations. Best of all, Reuben committed to delivering at 645am (bakery doesn’t open until 7am– thank you, Reuben) and arrived at 635am/​set everything up. Thank you for your punctuality, accommodating approach from start to finish and the delicious meal, Reuben and Hamilton Bakery!

My new favorite is actually their sandwich: Monte Cristo Sandwich.
It is one of the best favorite sandwich I’ve ever had.

I am suprised about the negative service reviews. I go to this bakery about twice a month (maybe more) and I have never had bad service. The owner and woman who is often working are not overly smiley, but they are alway pleasant and helpful. The shortbread thumbprint cookies are AMAZING. They are my favorie cookies around (other than maybe Woodlea Bakery sugar cookies). Great breads and, when they have it (not nearly as much as I would like) their sweet potato bread pudding is amazing! Pasteries are all good andthe apple pie is also good. I have not tried any cakes from there yet, but I have a carrot cake from HB sitting on my counter and am hoping for the best!

A little gem. We love the lemon pound cake. It’s moist, rich and has enough tang to balance out the buttery richness. I also recommend the bread. I hate the pretentious chef’s language but I have to say that both the olive bread and Italian bread had a nice chew.

Picked up a fig, walnut anise bread. A salted Carmel Mimi cake and a cookie. The salted caramel thingy was delicious… almost too sweet.
Atmosphere is quiet… music maybe? Jazz? Great store. Ill be back

I am giving this a one star because 0 isnt an option. The bread I bought had some sort of tomato and olive on it, a focaccia looking thing. It had mold on it. Not even just one piece, I’m talking numerous on the bottom and the tomato. It took me one bite to tell it was bad and really look at it. What a waste. Service was terrible and then you give me MOLDY food? Never again.

This bakery is in my neighborhood. Great place to get fresh bread and pastries. However my most favorite is the peanut butter and jelly cookies. They are so yummy! Go check them out!

Fantastic local bakery. The sweet and savory items are equally delicious. My favorite is the freshly baked bread. I literally dream about their three cheese focaccia. Must try! Affordable, friendly, and delicious.

Yesterday was my first (and not last) visit to Hamilton Bakery. It’s small and I passed it on the first pass but once you spot it go in! There is street parking out front. I bought a dozen cupcakes for my husband’s belated birthday. The cupcake case was not full but it was only 8:30 am, not peak cupcake sales time I’m sure. Something has to be baked later. I picked out 4 salted caramel, 4 birthday cake, 2 carrot cake and 2 hazelnut mocha. 12 for $ 24 not a bad deal!
We all shared and sampled the flavored.
The birthday cake was vanilla cake, vanilla frosting and sprinkles. A basic cupcake with good flavor. My youngest son loved it.
The carrot cake was moist with walnuts, no raisins and a cream cheese frosting which wasn’t too heavy. Loved it!
The hazelnut mocha was my husband’s and oldest son’s favorite. It wasn’t heavy and had a touch of a hazelnut filling. Not too much. Sometimes I feel gourmet cupcakes do too much and overload the flavors. Not at Hamilton bakery.
We all loved the salted caramel ! It had a chocolate cake which was most and the perfect salted caramel frosting.

When we arrived Saturday, we entered the bakery and waited for a while until the employee realized someone was in the store (about 5 minutes). Maybe she was busy in the back?
When she came up to the counter, she didn’t greet us in a friendly manner, but rather a ‘what do you want’ sort of way. It was definitely off-​putting. We then proceeded to explain that 2 red velvet cupcakes were purchased on August 9^th as a birthday treat, and that we felt that they were sub-​par to the bakery’s typical quality. They were super dry, hard on the bottom, and the frosting tasted store-​bought. We then explained that we had discussed this matter on facebook and were told to come by for a refund and replacement cupcakes.
She immediately acted like we were not entitled to the cupcakes that were promised and she began an inquisition: «Who said you could have these cupcakes?» «Why, what was wrong with them?» «How long ago was this?» and so on. It was ridiculous and offensive that we had to go into so much detail about 2 cupcakes.
She had an absolute attitude about the whole ordeal, followed by saying something along the lines of «I can’t just give you the cupcakes» — which in all fairness, didn’t make any sense whatsoever, as it was free cupcake Friday anyways! But I digress. She made it a point that she did not believe our ‘story’ and then decided to contact the owner. We had to pull up our Facebook conversation to try to prove that we weren’t just trying to yank her chain.
She didn’t even look at it.
While we waited for the owner’s response, the conversation continued with her exclaiming that «Well, it’s been 2 months since he promised these cupcakes. I can’t give new ones to you.» It in fact had been about 3 weeks (we have busy schedules, and getting replacement cupcakes honestly weren’t at the top of our to-​do list).
Even still, I don’t understand why the length of time mattered. The product we received was in poor quality, and knowing that a business thrives on people coming back and spreading positive word, I’d think it was a good opportunity to try again.
Finally, after getting our replacement cupcakes (but no cash refund as promised), we said «have a good night» to the female employee, who whole-​heartedly ignored us. What a rude individual!
We felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome in our neighborhood bakery. We have supported Hamilton Tavern, Zekes, Maggie’s Farm, Clementine, Red Canoe, this bakery, and all of the other quality businesses for a long time. We own a house in Waltherson and love the area, but experiences like Saturday night make it difficult to find the local support for a business that treats its customers the way we were treated.
Although the cupcakes tasted better (they still lacked the original frosting flavour and consistency that attracted me in the first place though), we felt offended and mistreated. If I had my way, I would never come back here.
However, my significant other takes pride in supporting local businesses, so we’ll just end up holding off until we know for sure that this sort of experience won’t happen again. In the meantime, Woodlea and Fenwick will be getting all of our attention.

AND AS A SIDE NOTE:
If you have to make excuses as to why your product is lacking in top quality, that’s an issue. If your cupcake becomes dry due to the wrapper that’s being used, or because you put the cupcake into a fridge, you might want to reconsider your process.
1– change the cupcake wrappers to something that won’t ‘dry them out’.
and
2– stop putting your cupcakes into a fridge. They should be fresh daily — at least that’s what I’m being lead to believe.

Really yummy cakes and cookies! My husband and I grabbed a few different things to try. Everything is fresh, rich, moist, and delicious. I HIGHLY recommend the lemon coconut cookies.
Staff are friendly and willing to make suggestions. I look forward to trying their sandwiches, breads, and soup one day.

The croissants are buttery and delicious, and if you’re looking for the goodies — get the chocolate croissant.
The french bread loaf has a hint of sourdough and is great for cold cut sandwiches.
We’ve never been disappointed with the service or the wares at our local baker. We encourage you to stop by — some find it a nice spot for a coffee and pastry while reading the paper.
