This place is legit. Menu and drinks are great. The owner, Brett, is a real person who does what he loves. The manhattan I ordered was phenomenonal and the grilled cheesus made me weep with delight. This bar is a diamond in the rough of corner bars in this area.

(10/24/2015) Happened upon BreadBangers after a trip to the Baltimore Museum of Industry. Parking is non-existent in this area, so walked up from the museum(note that if you think you’re going to pop in for carryout or something). Primarily Breadbangers was chosen over others because the menu amused us. The Bluegrass Tavern pedigree helps, too. Ingredients for the sandwiches were quality. Definitely the pressed sandwiches could’ve used more heat, the fillings for mine were still cold in the middle and the cheese not even melted(totally disappointing for what’s supposed to be a hot sandwich). Filling combos were tasty and creative but accessible(love pickled jalapenos). «Dirty» potato chips rock! Side of potato salad had creamy fingerlings, fresh diced red onions and celery, touch of mayo, pretty good basic rendition. The bar area looks like they might draw a decent HH crowd. When we were there, crowd was male heavy, but a there was a family in the back with toddlers. Menu can be kid-friendly. NOTE: this is the best drink fountain in the whole of the city of Baltimore. They have Gosling’s ginger beer and JONES root beer and lemon-lime sodas on tap. Slayed it.

So i tried this place after one of my spin classes sometime back and the sandwich was pretty good and huge. It had to be for $ 10, what i tried was the Porkboy sandwich or whatever its called, it was delicious that is all i remember. It comes with chips and a pickle if i recall. They had free wine that night so i sampled a couple, i may as well get my moneys worth. All in all solid sandwich will drop by every now and then.

Had lunch on Sunday and the food was excellent and the staff is very friendly. The pastrami on the Reuben was some of the leanest pastrami I’ve ever had and very tender. Overall great experience and well priced. Three sandwiches, a drink, a beer and awesome tomato soup all for $ 25!

Finally got a chance to try this place out last week, but we just walked up and ordered carryout. I got a turkey bacon avocado wrap, and my BF got a hot pressed sandwich but I forget which one it was(something like a caprese I think). First impressions of the inside, it’s way bigger than it looks! There are a few seats in the front, then way more in the back where the soda fountain is. Also, even though we were just ordering carryout, we observed that their beer is CHEAP. As in $ 1 Natty Bohs for their late night happy hour(10pm-12 I think) on weeknights. They also have happy hour on the weekend for pitchers and $ 5 glasses of wine(I think they only serve 1 red and 1 white though). It seemed to be a predominantly carry-out place that is trying to attract more people to dine in and have a drink or two, which I’m sure we will sometime. Now, the food. Turkey + bacon + avocado is my idea of heaven. However, when I bit into my wrap after we got home my avocado was NOT ripe. It was chewy, not creamy, and not very pleasant. The rest of the wrap was pretty good, but the honey mustard dressing a little too sweet. My BF said his sandwich was only OK, that the bread was good but he was hoping for thick, fresh sliced mozzarella(the kind that comes in a ball) but instead had deli slices which was pretty disappointing. I’m sure we’ll be back because the food was fine overall and the drinks are cheap, but next time we’ll both probably try something else.

Been there twice and both times have been phenomenal. Super friendly staff, HUGE(and delicious) sandwiches and wraps, and cheap beer — what could be better?!

I just started writing reviews on Unilocal with only one thing in mind. The food. In rare cases does something other than food affect the rating. Breadbangers was able to achieve this rare feat. I came in with a couple friends and we ate our sandwiches at the bar while uncomfortably listening to a little white girl verbally berate her other employees. It was more awkward than farting in an elevator. I feel like it could have been a scene from bar rescue. She was nice to the customers for what it’s worth… As for the food, most of the sandwiches on their menu have a sweetness to them(Dijon aioli, carribean mustard, bbq sauce, honey, etc.), which I tried to avoid based on how my taste buds were feeling that day, so I went with the talk to me bird. It was good, but nothing stood out about it. If I end up back here it’ll be during my stumble down fort ave on a bar crawl.

The food here is AWESOME! I ordered from here once through OrderUp, and haven’t stopped ordering since. I love their«PASTRAMIREUBENWITHTHEDEVIL», and I always end up getting either the Potato Salad or the Pesto Macaroni Salad. Def try this place out, as you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve tried about 5 different sandwiches here so far — all have been delicious. I’ve been to the restaurant and ordered them for delivery in order up. The staff at the restaurant is very friendly. Sandwiches are made in front of you and done quickly. Price is a reasonable for the size of the sandwiches. I usually end up saving half for the next day which says a lot about the sandwich size. Pitchers of beer are also well priced at $ 8 the last time I was there. They have specials for the pitchers often so I’m not sure how much it is when it’s not on special. Getting the sandwiches through order up is easy. The pressed sandwiches are still warm when I get them.

Ordered sandwiches off order up, everyone liked them. Came really fast as well. the turkey, Brie, and apple sandwich I had was very good. Only thing was there were chip options listed on order up and none of us got the chips we ordered, guess they were low on chip choices. All and all a good alternative to boring sandwich places.

The first time I went to Breadbangers was the day after the opening. It seemed like the staff had made a great effort to have a strong opening, and everyone was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and it was really tasty comfort food. The soup in particular was delicious and flavorful. I was very excited to go back a few weeks later, but unfortunately my experience was completely different. When I walked in, I was completely ignored for at least five minutes(despite the fact that I was the only person in line and hugely pregnant and hard to miss) while two women behind the counter argued with each other and complained about another staff member in front of the customers eating at the bar. I ordered the same meal as before, except this time the grilled cheese was a soggy, greasy mess and the woman was not wearing gloves when she took it off the skillet. Maybe some people wouldn’t be grossed out by that, but I work in healthcare and that gave me the creeps. This time around, the soup was the consistency of thick tomato paste and did not have the awesome flavor I remembered from a few weeks earlier. Neither item was edible, and it’s hard to get a grilled cheese wrong. I really hope the staff are able to bring back the friendliness, professionalism, and attention to the food that they started out with.

Really good sandwiches, we got the Modern day porkboy and liked it a lot. Not sure if they are working out the kinks from being new? No pickles, limited chips, the TV in the big back area doesn’t work and they turned the Oriole game off to put on food network?!? We would have stayed for a few drinks but went somewhere else instead. Overall great sandwiches it seems!

Nice variety of HUGE sandwhiches. Half of a sandwhich will be more than enough for a meal and I’ll take the other half to work the next day. Prices aren’t super cheap, but considering the quality and size, well worth it. The pulled pork with gouda is great.

The rock band theme is cute, and they have a great variety of sandwiches. Quick and easy for take out, or you can eat in at the bar. I had the 2 minutes to muffaletta sandwich, and it was completely overstuffed and tasty. Also, $ 5 pitchers at 5 for happy hour, so I may need to go back for that.

My roommate and I visited Breadbangers for the first time yesterday since its new to our neighborhood. Ordering is super simple with the menu displayed on a chalkboard behind the counter. I ordered the Don’t Fear The Caesar wrap: grilled chicken, fresh romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, caesar dressing in a garlic herb wrap. My wrap was a little dry but I ordered it without the cheese so that could have been a factor in the texture. The flavors were nice and I enjoyed the combo of the sandwich and my choice of chips. They also have Jones Soda available as a fountain soda! I’ve never seen that before! The music completed the dining experience, we approved of the classic rock!
