Baltimore Spa and Salon

Facilities are nice but the quality of service was much better when it was Chas spa. I live in the complex and used to go regularly but after two disappointing spa treatments, have since stopped.

The esthetician Gina is the best! She is super friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough. My overall spa experience was delightful and great escape from the hustle and bustle of DC.

This Spa is beautiful and located in high-​end Ritz Carlton residence. They have complimentary Valet parking, strawberry herb infused water and any drinks you like, bathroom/​changing room and waiting area that has tea and comfy chairs. The staff here are really nice too. They also have a client point system where if you keep your pre-​made appointments, then you earn points you can use towards your bills.
I came here for Lash extension and got complimentary massage because there was a mix up with my appointment. The staff was really nice and really tried to please their customers. Emily is the only Lash Extension expert at this Spa and I came to her after being referred by a friend. Emily is beautiful and really nice and made me feel comfortable with lashes. We talked some/​briefly about what I can expect from lashes, how to care for them, how often I should get fills, etc. etc. It took me 4 weeks (with 2 week complimentary refill session in between) to realize this but long story short, I don’t think the lashes that were on me were the best kind for me because I have naturally short, thin lashes with hooded eyes and the lashes I got didn’t make my eyes pop, were not visible from front, were quite heavy, kept twisting, turning, fall out, and hurt me sometimes because they were tangled. Emily did tell me to brush brush brush the lashes if they were to twist or turn because they could get tangled and that’s why they would hurt me and I did, I really did brush them twice, three times a day and really regularly but I could not get comfortable in the lashes.
I really like the Spa because they are so pretty — the atmosphere, water, location, etc. I may return here to try other services but I don’t think I will be returning for the lashes again. I know other people who don’t seem to have problems getting lashes from Emily or the Novalash themselves. Maybe it’s just me but I can’t pay for lashes that don’t make me as happy as I want to be.

the salon was nice. i didn’t really vibe with the woman who cut my hair. she did an ok job on the cut and then kinda half assed it on the blow out. i walked out super upset and disappointed. i got the salon from a friend who uses a woman who wasn’t there, so i figured i would try someone else.

We surprised my mom with a spa day for her birthday/​mothers day. We got her the 50 minute aromatherapy message, hydrotherapy tub, and the signature mani/​pedi. She really enjoyed her experience said everything was great and relaxing. Her birthday feel on the Thursday before mothers day which was great because she ended up having the entire spa to herself. She said she was given chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the tub and she absolutely loved her mani/​pedi and daïs she’s going to start paying the extra money and coming back on a regular because she was so attentive and did an excellent job. Making the appointment was super quick and easy and the location is very convenient. When I came back to pick her up I walked around and did my own tour taking pics since it was just us there. Would definitely recommend though they were pricey but you get what you pay for!

This review is very much torn in two. The service was for someone else as a surprise for their birthday and it went off without a hitch. They loved the experience and I was so glad for that, since I am from out of town and based my choice on the Unilocal reviews I found.
However, and I have already shared this in an email that was not responded to, when I went to they website to get a contact email to thank them I came across the Midweek Pricing tab. I feel as though what I booked, a Wednesday afternoon massage, fell into this category and yet it was never offered as an option to me when I called to set everything up. I clearly did not mind paying for the full price massage for a gift but stumbling upon this option I feel like this was a purposeful lie since I am sure their receptionist knows about this pricing. To me that is a bad business practice and sadly outweighs a good massage.

Located at the Ritz Carlton residences, this small salon and spa has great service.
If you have money to burn, come here for a manicure. The service from the front desk to the aesthetician was polite and helpful. The manicure itself was not rushed and of very good quality. They really make you feel pampered here. That being said, it is grossly overpriced!
Tip: Take advantage of the free valet parking!

Loved this place. Took my boys there and they enjoyed it too. Only thing missing to give last star would have been the offer of a glass of wine. I’ll go for more spa treatments next time I’m in Baltimore.

I am in love with this place! The customer service is amazing! The services were great! The cost might be pricey to some but I think it’s absolutely worth it! I received a massage by Kyle and a facial by Barbara! Both were outstanding and will now be my go to people at this spa! My BF got a facial, massage, mani, and pedi (it is his bday) and he loved all of his services as well!
We will def be back. The establishment was nicely decorated and clean. They have free valet parking. Water and tea are also available! I don’t have a single complaint (hence the 5 STARS)!!

Where do I start with the accolades? Likely the best starting point is the incredibly talented and personable stylist: Tom. If you are a dude who gets that SuperCuts is like McDonalds for hair, then Tom is the Michelin chef of hair. On top of his fantastic attention to detail, he is a bunch of fun. That fun factor is also evident throughout the place. Amazing customer service and an even better haircut. You won’t be disappointed!

I have visited Baltimore Spa and Salon about a half dozen times over the last few years. During those times, they have had several owners but I have always received wonderful service. I usually go for the Swedish massages and mani/​pedis. I always have a different person doing my massages and nail care b/​c I’m not a regular customer so I don’t have a preference (yet!). I have no complaints about any of the lovely ladies who have pampered me.
It is a very expensive establishment but the service and experience is worth it. Also, if you sign up to their email list, they offer various discounts and deals.
Walking into the spa is like walking into a true oasis. It’s so peaceful and serene and the atmosphere makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. The décor is so pretty and always smells good!
One of my best memories was made here when I surprised my mom with a spa day for her 60^th birthday. We both got massages and pedicures. While those services only take a couple of hours we spent the majority of the day there! We were enjoying it that much. In between the services were were able (and encouraged by staff) to lounge and relax in their lounge area. The staff never rushed us to leave. We were treated so well and given several glasses of champagne (yum!). You can also try the sauna as well but we did not do this-​next time!
I try to treat myself to a Baltimore Spa and Salon experience a couple of times a year. If I could afford it, I would certainly come here on a more regular basis!

This is the best kept secret in Baltimore. The facilities are clean and new. The staff is trained and professional. As soon as you walk through the door you are going to have your needs met. Becca is my stylist. She is very good both with cut and color. She understands my needs and she has a great eye of an artist. I couldn’t imagine having someone else style my hair.

Have been getting my haircut here for over a year now and every time is a relaxing experience. Great mens lounge and free Champagne! I received a great massage too! The front desk girl is always nice and pretty I might add! Highly recommended!

I went here a couple of weeks ago. I really can’t say enough. I had a $ 25 gift card, so I just went for eyebrow design. I called at 2pm on Sunday and they said the only appointment they had was an opening at 2:30pm, so I threw on some clothes and got out there. Loved the free valet and the free delicious fruit water served on a platter while I waited (for 2 minutes). I got Cindi (I think) and she was was AMAZING. So friendly and down to earth. She worked on my eyebrows for a half hour! They looked GORGEOUS. I can’t wait to go back!!!

I went in for a facial a few months ago (June?) that i got through a groupon deal. I’ve had two prior facials in other spas. The atmosphere was wonderful. Honestly, it was the most relaxing facility I’ve been to. They take you back to get a robe, slippers, and an upscale locker. Then they have a waiting area with low lights, infused waters, and comfy seating until your specialist is ready for you. While discussing my skin and planning what products she would use she let me know that for that month only they were offering a chocolate finishing mask at no additional charge, so of course I asked for it. The facial itself was wonderful and obviously smelled like chocolate. I left with dewy fresh skin. post facial i took advantage of the showers and blow dryer. I wish I had taken advantage of the sauna but I had plans afterward.

I don’t understand the bad reviews because my experience here was the polar opposite. I know this spa and salon has gone through some major changes in the past few years but the new owner is lovely and has transformed this place into a top-​notch spa destination in the Bmore area. I’m fairly picky about my spa experiences and I don’t like the one-​size-​fits-​all spas that have been popping up all around the suburbs. They just don’t offer the ambiance and luxury you get at a spacious hotel-​based spa. Granted, I tried it out the first time with a Travelzoo voucher I bought to celebrate my sister’s birthday despite the iffy review. It was a great deal and when I called to make the appointment, they were courteous and professional. They didn’t hesitate to answer my questions and I started to get excited with surprising my sister with this treat.
We arrived a little late due to morning traffic and they even called to make sure we were still coming. However, they didn’t treat us differently and allowed us to take our time and gave us a tour of the facility. It is an absolutely beautiful, relaxing spa. The locker room/​bathroom is stocked with amenities and a sauna. I’ve been to the Ritz Carlton spa in NYC, Canyon Ranch in Miami and Orlando, Mandarin Oriental in DC, and spas on cruise ships and Baltimore Spa and Salon is on the same level as all of them. But what really impressed me is the way the staff pampers and caters to you. After our 3 – 4 hour services, they allowed us to hang out and chat in the waiting area eating our delicious chocolate-​covered strawberries and drinking a glass of champagne. No rushing us out of there and acting like we were just a number.
Well, my first positive experience led me to sign up for their emails and I came across a fantastic special for eyelash extensions and booked an appt. for my bday. I was late (again) but the staff didn’t blink an eye and greeted me with smiles and charm. Emily is a real pro at applying eyelash extensions and kept me entertained with interesting chatter for 2 hours. They are gorgeous and totally changed my mind about wearing them despite my past bad experience at another place in VA. She introduced me to the owner, who said they even offer medspa services now. They’ll be doing some cool events with wine vendors and artists, so sign up on their website for their emails. I’m definitely a satisfied client and can’t wait to go back for my extension refill and other services.

One would think with the fancy atmosphere, complimentary valet parking, etc, at the very least this business would be competent enough to correctly schedule a service. I bought the Groupon for the Obagi Radiance Peel and called to make an appointment.
At first, the answering machine kept replaying without allowing me to leave a message. I then called back the next day and the same thing happened, but I let the machine play enough and it finally allowed me to leave a message. Someone called me back to follow up, but she seemed distracted. I then called back and spoke to a gentleman, who told me that someone else would call me back. When that person called me back I explained very clearly the reason I was calling, the service I wanted, and my purchase of a Groupon. When I went in for said service, it took me undressing, changing into the robe, and sitting in the «relax room» for almost an hour before someone had the courtesy to tell me that they made a mistake and scheduled me for a different service than that for which I paid and that I would have to come back another day when the person who administered this service would be in. Of course, I cannot do that, because, perhaps to the Baltimore Spa and Salon’s surprise, I do not have unlimited time to do just that. It’s not like I work or anything, right?
To add insult to injury, their attempts to rectify the situation was to offer me a lesser (sub-​par) service in exchange – and nothing more – to try to rectify their incompetence and wasting my time. It was like they expected me to be pleased by their scheduling glitch. I happen to be traveling out of town in two days and was looking forward to this service. I could have come yesterday had they told me the service could not be rendered on a Sunday. I’d like to think I’m a pretty understanding customer, but they just missed out on my business due to incompetence and lack of good customer service skills. I think it’s only fair that when you are responsible for a mistake and your customer suffers as a result, you work to fix it. It’s basic customer relations.
