We’ve been going here for lenten fish fries for the last three years. They always do a really great job. It’s somewhat like taking a step back into the 60s or 70s, as the hall is set up with tables in rows, you stand in line to place your order and boy scouts bring it out to your table. For your drinks, you can go to the bar where they still allow smoking and people definitely take advantage of it. If you plan to go in there, don’t wear anything you aren’t ready to wash, as it will smell of smoke if you go into the bar. There is a door between the bar and the dining hall, so no issues with the smoke where you eat. For around $ 8 for your fish plate with three pieces of fish and two sides plus $ 1 drafts that include Amber Bock or canned sodas for $ 1, it’s a great nostalgic place to go. It’s also a good family atmosphere. If someone wants dessert, there are plenty of options that appear to be home-made selections, though we’ve never had room after the fish and a couple of beers. This is definitely a great place for some great fish during lent. They serve until 7:30p, so if you are cutting it close on time for one of the churches that stop at 7:00, the VFW buys you another half hour. Definitely worth the trip.

The do a good job with their lenten fish fry. The options were cod, catfish & shrimp. For around $ 8 I got a good portion of cod with two sides and a hush puppy & tea. Everything was fine. As with all fish fries, go early because they will run out of items later.
