Not a bad place to stay if other options are out. Clean, yes. Friendly staff, yes. Convenient, meh. Not a great place, but a safe place to stay. Price, a bit high for a discounter. No signs of bugs and critters, other than I did spot a glue trap behind a vending machine. Speaking of a vending machines, I punched the buttons on a selection for a drink in their «market» and it listed 1.80, after swiping my card, the same selection was suddenly $ 3, so I just let it expire. No priced listed on the machine, just assume the worst. The room was small, but that is their brand. Stuff is stacked and space efficient, but the bed is full sized and nicely firm with decent piles of pillow. No issues in the bathroom. Walls are thin, could hear muted conversation from one neighbor, then after midnight, the other neighbors clock radio went off while they were apparently out partying. TV sucked, standard definition, mounted high on top of the furniture stack. Most of the cable channels were digital cable so programming was quite limited. Using the TV as background noise for the neighbors alarm clock, brought with it a high pitched whistling sound that was almost even more annoying. The climate control was strong and efficient, but it too rattled and hummed if I didn’t lean something against its cabinet. While checking in, the guy got two phone calls about the wifi, he assured both callers it was on and to keep trying each of their three onsite routers. He was right, the wifi was strong, however, none of the routers were connected to the internet. The modem probably needed a reboot, but judging by the endless listing of mifi’s and hotspots my laptop could see, it didn’t seem as though anybody had any success in requesting a restart.
So for sleep and a shower, it’s a fine place to be. To hang out and relax, not so much.

STAY AWAY!!! A half star would be truly what they should get. We should have left as soon as our welcome mat was lined with mice traps. it was just a taste of what else was in store.
Stay here only if would love sleeping with the sweet sounds of flys buzzing in your ear. And none stop dripped water from bathroom pipe that kept going even when set to off. Soooo ANNOYING AND FLYS ARE JUST GROSS!
We came up here for a family weekend at Oswego and we got stuck here because all the other hotels where sold out. How unfortunate for me and my kids.
The food they offered taste so nasty. How did they find the worst tasting per wrapped muffins and bagels is beyond me. The 100% juice was 100% NASTY. THE T.V. Was so dam small and still had a crappy picture. Grainy and blurry. No refrigerator dAIRTY bath room shower. The water for bathing hardly got Hot.
To top it ALL OFF THE MANAGER Tammy Koicenski was extremely RUDE to my mom and I. I really felt like she had a problem with our «BROWN SKIN «2014 and still these kinds of people in the world. SMH! So sad.

While the young lady at the reception desk was very nice — I can’t say the stay was a good one. I had reserved a suite for my daughter, her friend and myself for a one night stay in Baldwinsville. The suite was the size of an average regular room. on one side there was a bed separated from the other side with a counter called a «kitchenette» (consisted of a fridge and microwave) of the room with a pull out bed. Upon pulling out the sofa bed you could see that it not been cleaned for some time. There were no blankets in the room nor pillows for the pull out bed. Only 2 towels were in the room for the 3 of us — called the reception desk for more and we had to go down to get them!!!
There was food left in the cabinets from previous guest that was moldy and stinky. To top it all off they charge me $ 139.00 for this «suite» that was not even worth $ 50 — stay away from this one.

Needed a room off 90 to basically just get some sleep while on our road trip – it was perfect. Clean, friendly staff, and a great price. We found a coupon and for the price I couldn’t of been happier. The room is small and the tv was not a flat screen (didn’t even turn it on) but for the price and our short stay we didn’t care. AC seemed to work just fine and the window opened which was nice since it was in the 70s. I’m glad I didn’t dismiss this hotel due to other negative reviews!

DO NOT!
Not having experience with poor hotel reviews (this is our first), apologies in advance if it meanders. We booked this hotel in late October for two evenings. Arriving at 9PM-​ish, we found our room to be 55 degrees (gotta love smartphones). As the room HVAC unit proved incapable of raising the temperature after 15 minutes, I returned to the front desk to report the condition. The attendant «called his boss», who was off site, and while speaking with him on the cell, visited the room.
He agreed it was cold, and then gave me the phone. Said «boss» explained that they tell guests to put the heat on low as the higher fan velocity fails to adequately warm the air. I found this revelation to be interesting, since I oversee 80 facilities in NYS and am responsible for the proper functioning of over 300 HVAC systems; there is some truth to the theory, but it revolves around air exchange v volume, but I won’t bore anyone with heat calc’s. But I digress.
Said boss advised us that as we were Travelocity guests, they could not place us in a different room. Learning rooms were available the evening in question, we found this baffling. The attendant did say the following evening presented difficulty as only suites were available, but no resolution was offered for the immediate evening. «Travelocity», he said, «blacks out a specific # of rooms», and thats that. We left.
Travelocity was unable to resolve either, as we made the mistake of departing and calling from the parking lot and not remaining at the front desk. Uh, ya, OK, that makes sense in some bizarre world.
Sure, they found other accommodations, but could not guarantee refund for the MicroTel booking. For the record, «the boss» apparently declined Travelocity’s request for same. We did write to management via on line form to advise of our displeasure, but to date have not heard reply.
Needless to say, we were charged in full for both evenings despite immediate departure. But sometimes principle surpasses all, and in this matter, its value is priceless.
One more thing, in case this is important. Front desk staff was a young man in sneakers more intent on his smoke breaks than manning the desk and security cams. And he was the ONLY staff.

My experience with this motel is slightly different from the previous reviewer. I stayed at this motel during the month of February for one week and then, against my best judgement, I booked a second week.
The price with an online coupon was very competitive: approximately $ 45.00 per night for a room that featured a basic clean bathroom, a queen size bed, a wall mounted closet with a small television mounted above the closet. This room certainly put the micro into Microtel. There was a window seat but, who wants to sit in the window when the outdoor temperature is — 15 F?
The room I had was truly small, even for one person and bordered on claustrophobic. It was neat and clean. I would have enjoyed the use of the free wireless Internet service, but it did not function for the two week period I stayed here. Although I called the front desk to ask for support, I was informed the Wi Fi was out of service but technical service had been contacted and the WiFi should be in service within 24 hours. After 2 weeks of the same explanation, I astutely concluded that there was no reasonable hope of having Internet service.
They do have desktop computers available for guest use but, they were rendered useless due to the lack of Internet service.
I was constantly promised the immediate correction of the Internet service but, it never came to be.
I experienced a significant disruption in my stay when the management had the poor judgement to rent several rooms to college students. The motel was virtually empty of guests. They had less than 10 rooms rented during my stay/​. The motel management decided to place these partying drunken college students next to my room. They had dozens of empty rooms to select from. I experienced greatly disturbing noise, shouting and students knocking on my door in a drunken stupor at almost 3 AM.
The final act of stupidity was when somehow, these drunken student guests triggered the fire alarms at 3:30 AM.
I enjoyed evacuating the motel at this hour and sitting in my car until the Baldwinsville FD declared all clear.
The advertised breakfast primarily consists of pre packaged baked goods with fresh bananas, apples and coffee. The coffee was not always available and I encountered delays due to empty carafes. I had to ask for the carafes to be refilled. Very poor attention to customer needs prevailed at this location.
So, the combined factors of experiencing a highly claustrophobic room and a clueless staff who could not rectify issues, will cause me not stay at this location or other Microtel motels again.

I booked this hotel for Labor Day weekend to visit the NY State Fair. There are hotels closer to the fairgrounds, but Microtel was significantly cheaper with only a 10-​minute drive to the fair, which was definitely worth it. I found no problem getting to other attractions in the area via car; downtown Syracuse was only 15 minutes away. The location is right near the highway which is very convenient.
PROS:
— We booked a queen bed room and it was spacious and comfortable for two adults.
— The bathroom is a great size and clean, although the towels are small (typical hotel fare).
— The window seat provides extra seating, storage, and gives a nice atmosphere to the room.
— Bedding was comfortable (no ugly «hotel» blankets!) and the room had plenty of electrical outlets. Free WiFi is a definite plus.
— Amenities we didn’t use were: coin-​operated laundry on the 2^nd floor; 24-​hour coffee available in the lobby; free computer terminals in the lobby.
— The hotel staff was courteous and friendly.
CONS:
— This is a pet-​friendly hotel, which can be great if you have a pet, but be careful if you have pet allergies. When we checked in, a Pomeranian was scampering around the lobby & front desk, barking loudly. If you have severe pet allergies, don’t assume animals are restricted to their hotel rooms; you might be safer booking somewhere else.
— The continental breakfast is sub-​par: pre-​packaged bagels and muffins, and all of the creamers for the coffee were spoiled. There is nowhere to sit for the breakfast; you have to go back to your room to eat.
— Only one ice machine in the building, at the front desk; we were on the second floor so it was a walk to get to the ice machine.
— The room had an old television with a fussy remote (the TV is atop the closet so you can’t change channels from the set). It’d be nice if they update to flatscreens.
— There is no neighborhood atmosphere: it shares a parking lot with a bank and there are abandoned warehouses next door, which look scary at night.
It’s not a 5-​star hotel by any means, but it was a great stay for the price, and relatively close to everything we needed. If I were going to the fair I’d stay here again.

Cheap and budget hotel. Got what I paid for. Clean bed and bathroom. The TV worked well and there was WIFI. The other assets were not available. There is also a small contential breakfast in the morning.
Staff is straightforward. Expected from a budget hotel.
