Taking my cosmetology classes and loving it ;). Great teachers and the office ladies are so sweet!

Watch out for Maricela Acevedo in the counselors office! I think she is just the receptionist, but she acts like she owns the school! She was rude, complacent, and condescending. You would think someone who works in a counseling department would aim to be at least a little helpful. Not this lady.
I left two messages for the actual guidance counselor, and never received a call back. While there, I noticed that it’s Maricela who writes down the messages. So either the actual counselor didn’t return my call, or she never got it from the bad-​mannered receptionist.
If this lady is the one you have to deal with to get into the school, go somewhere else. But hopefully she won’t be for long, because I am going to notify the school and the district about her boorish behavior.
I am giving the school 2 stars instead of 1, only because of Mrs.Sanders. I don’t know who she is or what she does there, but she’s an angel. While we were waiting 30 minutes for the counselors office to open (on our 2^nd trip there in one day) Mrs. Sanders kindly inquired if she could help us, and went out of her way to try and make a phone call for us. Interestingly, as soon as she walked up and started talking to us, Maricela opened the door (ten minutes late) of the office. She had been in there the whole time! Coincidence? I think not!

After doing extensive research, I decided to take my Pharmacy Technician course here. It’s amazing, this location offers Pell Grant through FAFSA, which is a free grant for those who qualify. I usually do, and because BPACE doesn’t charge a lot for the course (it’s 250 dollars per quarter for non-​BP residents) the Pell Grant covers 100% of my tuition and supplies. Hope you qualify too! To compare, 99% of other locations do NOT offer the Pell Grant through their financial aid (in fact I couldn’t find any other school that does) and cost considerably more.
In total, you will spend 9 months in the pharmacy tech program, but you will get a thorough education and an included externship for experience. This takes 3 quarters, which totals to $ 750 dollars (plus books, another ~80 dollars). The instructor here knows what he’s doing, you will not be disappointed if you choose to attend BPACE for Pharmacy Tech.
The campus is attractive. I’ve seen way too many run-​down out of commission high-​school-​turned-​adult-​schools that think they no longer have to keep up with renovations and paint. Not the case for BPACE! They also provide free day-​care services for anyone who has kids but wants to take a course here.
Lastly, administration is fast, pleasant, and polite. Go ahead and walk into the front office to ask any questions you might have about programs offered, they’ll do their best to help you. It’s not until you get into the «counseling» office in the back that you’ll run into problems… the front desk lady there is not very informative and will just throw pamphlets at you and let you figure things out yourself. If you speak to the actual counselor, she will have more details, and the financial aid lady is also very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond. Holla!

Was here today to try to get some info on some classes I wanted to take. The person in the main office, was nice & helpful as was the financial aid person. The woman in financial aid was very informative and answered a lot of my questions.
Then there’s the lady in the counseling office. There was 3 counselers there. As I walked in there was Christmas music blasting from a little radio, and 2 were sitting behind desks, and 1 decorating the office. So I asked about the classes I wanted to take and the lady didnt seem to want to help me. She was just dilly dallying. Sorta rude too. Oh and she had a hard time hearing me since the music was soooooo damn loud.
So I went to another campus and signed up for my classes there, since BP wasnt wanting to help me. But the lady in the main office & Financial aid were cool.
