This is, by far, my favorite Corner Bakery location. I’ve never had a bad meal here. I love the vibe of the seating area. I’ve been here for a quick to-go bite, an «I need to sit by my lonesome and think» meal, and various types of meetings. I became a huge fan of their chicken apple sausage panini breakfast sandwich when it first debuted. For a short while, it was discontinued but I’m so glad they came to their senses and have it in regular menu rotation. That sandwich alone will keep me coming back. As a plus, the service is always friendly.

Worst experience ever! Was the only person in the restaurant at 7a and waited over 15 minutes for my takeout order. I had to remind the person at the register that I needed my order — the staff was too busy socializing amongst themselves to help guests. Upon receiving my order, the«cook» was in such a hurry to get back to playing with his co workers that he failed to close the lid on the disguisting sauce that came with the breakfast item I ordered and as a result this sauce spilled all over my handbag. The breakfast item was also a sloppy mess. I went on the Corner Bakery website to report the poor experience and a week went by and only after I called their corproate office did someone call me back. Still no sense of urgency or care about how the was food is being prepared or served. The sloppy presentation mirrors that of the attitude of the staff and the overall feeling of this restaurant. There was no sense of urgency by Corner Bakery to follow up with a guest and the last person I dealt with was just plain RUDE. I would NEVER set foot in this place again. There are FAR better places for a quick bit just steps from here. Probably THE worst customer service experience ever. The food was awful, the staff was more interested in having their own good time than servicing guests and the person who packed the take out didn’t even care enough to close the lid of the sauce. If you like sloppy and rude this is the place for you. If you like good customer service and quality food — avoid this place!!!

Been here twice within the last week with my mom for breakfast. She loves this place — I joined cause it’s her favorite place and she is visiting where they do not have the Corner Bakery chain. Having said that, it’s a really clean and relaxing place to sip on that morning coffee and get some breakfast. Like any morning shift for folks, I’m sure it’s hard to have a chipper attitude so the service was decent. From the counter of taking orders to the ‘servers’ bringing the food out to you, it was just solid. Plenty of parking in a clean area off City Avenue, I would say the price for the everything there is what you would expect. Not too high, not too low. It’s not Starbucks priced coffee and food if that helps set the bar for how much this place is. Not bad!

I love the corner bakery! Easy to get to and there’s always parking even if you have to walk a little from your spot. My favorite is the bacon and cheddar panini for breakfast. In the fall, their pumpkin spiced latte is pretty awesome. When you walk in, you order at the register first and they give you a number to take a seat where ever you’d like. When your food is ready, they bring it to you. No need to clean up after yourself because they do that as well once you leave. I went here once for lunch and it was really good. I plan on coming back to try more lunch options. The atmosphere is open, quaint and enjoyable. Never too loud in here, even when they’re at their busiest. Seating is comfortable with options of tables or booths.

Great prices, delicious salads, delicious looking baked goods. Nice variety, line moves fast. Had excellent oatmeal the other day too with cranberries and bananas. Comfortable place.

If I could give this one zero stars, I would. Yes, all of the other reviews that I’ve seen here ring true. It is a beautiful place, they have an extensive menu, and they are obviously a favorite haunt of yuppies. However, I was absolutely stunned to learn that they wanted nearly $ 11 all tolled for a simple serving of tuna fish on two pieces of lettuce and one unsweetened iced tea. What happened was there was nothing on the menu that I could eat that was truly diabetic friendly. The only thing I could see that came close to it was some kind of salad dish that featured three different salads such as tuna, chicken, and something else, on a bed of lettuce with a side of carrots etc. which sold for eight dollars and change. It was way too many carbs, calories, and fat for someone that has to watch very closely what they eat. So, I asked for a simple portion of tuna fish served on two pieces of lettuce with an unsweetened iced tea. When the girl rang up the total it came to $ 10.47 !! I asked her if she was sure, and she said yes. So, I suppose what I needed to do was to buy the entire platter and throw away nearly ¾ of the food on it just to save a couple of dollars. Sorry — but that just wasn’t happening. My friend and I left and went and had a delicious, nutritious, far less fattening and much more healthy meal at another restaurant back here in Roxborough.
After thoughts: I realized after I completed my review that I neglected to mention that. most of the diners I saw in there that day were overweight. One does not have to wonder why, if this is the type of food in which they indulge.

I went to Corner Bakery in City Ave in Philly for breakfast on a Sunday. The food was just ok. The staff was not very friendly. I ordered a fried egg with my breakfast meal and it wasn’t until the order came to the table that I was told that they only way they prepare eggs is to scramble them. My breakfast companion ordered sunny side up eggs and they were served scrambled eggs as well. Note to counter clerk: Tell customers at the time they place their order that the only way you all prepare eggs are scrambled. The sausage pattie was bland and dry and the self-serve beverage area was messy. The baked goods at this place are good, insofar as the meals are concerned, go elsewhere.

Bahn Mi sandwich was a complete mess. The bun was completely soggy and already ripped by the time it was brought to the table. It tasted ok, but was a complete disaster to eat. Way too much sauce. First time here, so this review is mainly just for that sandwich. Lunch may not be their strong suit, many people were here finishing up their late Sunday breakfast. Also, this place is freezing so being a jacket.

I just had a cookie, but man! That was a good chocolate chip! There was a 99 cent cookie offer after a certain time of day. Corner Bakery is one of those places that advertise what they are: a cool, casual place to get some food without any hassle. Not fast food, not fancy restaurant. Good option on City Avenue.

This is a really nice, clean Corner Bakery that provides an expansive, relaxing atmosphere that really has been lacking on City Avenue. The staff here are so courteous and and attentive, that it’s been a great visit here every time. I love treating myself to breakfast here, this seems to be the only location in the Philadelphia region that has full breakfast service with pancakes. The only negative thing that I can mention, being a pancake connoisseur, is that they are a bit inconsistent in quality. But pancakes are a tough art to master. Otherwise, be sure to check this place out!

Can’t really say anything about their food, since I just had coffee. Just stopped in to do about an hour or so worth of work. I was motivated to write a Unilocal review simply because the staff here was so genuinely nice and friendly without being intrusive… not an easy task to accomplish these days. From the counter person to the nice lady tending to the dining area who asked me if I wanted a table with an outlet for my laptop, everyone was really nice. I appreciate that and feel like it should be recognized!

My main issue with Corner Bakery is that it’s inconsistent. I’ve been here a couple of times, and last time I ordered their Anaheim panini(without the bacon) and I really liked it! I ordered the same thing today but it was nowhere near as good as the last time. They didn’t look the same either but I thought looks don’t matter, right? The one I had today was not toasted enough, oily, just bland and falling apart. I was in a rush so I didn’t have time to complain and have it replaced. One the positive side, I like the atmosphere there and the workers are generally nice. Their pastries that are on display are usually good and tasty! Their coffee ain’t bad either!

First off. I like the layout of corner bakery when you walk in. You literally walk into the waiting line. The customer service isn’t over-the-top but it’s always busy so understandable. I think some people hear«bakery» and expect the desserts to be A+. Keep in mind, they aren’t calling themselves«best bakery» or anything. The name just means«we’re just a bakery on the corner.» With that being said, I’ve tried the lemon cake and most of their cookies. Stick to their cake for the most bang for your buck. The food is fairly priced and they give good portions. It’s a pretty solid place for food to be a chain restaurant. Better than Cosi or Panera. Im not throwing any shade, I promise.

I asked to buy a loaf of bread and it came out but it was sliced and I wanted it unsliced so they made me a brand new loaf and wrapped it up for me and it was still warm when I got it home. Great service! The treats are inexpensive and not too bad on the tastebuds.

The place is confortable to eat, and the service was ok. I had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich; it was good but I have to say it was kind of simple. It didnt had spread in the bread so I had to ask for some mayo. After eating here and seing what other people had in their plates I would say its an average ok place to have breakfast.

I’m coming to the realization that Corner Bakery, and several of its competitors in the immediate area, are simply a convenience. I have yet to try Corner Bakery’s other locations, but this specific location is average. It’s a decent enough spot to grab lunch with some friends, or a quick sandwich to take back to the office, but besides that, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there. The food there is okay; definitely overpriced for the quality and the portion size. I’ve had the uptown turkey and the pesto chicken sandwiches, both of which left much to be desired. The only thing saving the uptown turkey was the bread; the toppings and sauce/dressing tasted like they were prepackaged. The pesto chicken seemed more or less like thickly sliced deli meat; it definitely could have used some fresher chicken. Perhaps it was because of the lunch crowd, but there seemed to exist a great deal of disarray among the staff. A few orders had been brought to the table, and we were asked, «Did someone order this…,» «Who had that???» I really think they should consider restructuring their ticket number system. We were also given at least 6 sets of silverware(for 3 people), which I suppose is better than none. But still not necessary, especially since we all ordered sandwiches. I will compliment the entire staff at the café, as everyone was very friendly and hard working. The cashiers were very nice, and actually referred to you by name(!), and the servers periodically checked to see if my friends and I needed anything. Our plates were cleared promptly, and I noticed they had begun to wipe down the tables for the next guests as soon as we had left.

Moderately clean. By that I mean there were crumbs and lettuce on some of the tables. My sandwich was pretty pitiful… Uptown Turkey. It’s supposed to have avocado. The avocado was one teeny tiny slice of sad avocado on one quarter of my sandwich(or rather avocado on half of my half sandwich). Way to be stingy. It wasn’t even lunch rush nor crowded or full. No excuses for the craptacular sandwich.

We’ve had a variety of lunch items from the corner bakery and enjoyed all of them. The Mac and cheese is very good and creamy while the meatball sandwich will knock your socks off. I also like their salad sampler and other salads. The food comes out fast, but on a take out order we paid for two side salads, when we got home we found out we only got one and received no response to multiple emails about the issue. So A for food D for customer service satisfaction
