History

Established in 1962.

Robby’s Nursery & Calico Gardens started 53 years ago in SW Bakersfield. It was called Robby’s Nursery and Landscape Service. After 2 reluctant moves we have found our home. Our name change reflects our newly designed Nursery and our commitment to giving our customers inspiration while showing them how to incorporate drought tolerant plants into their yards. We are a full service Garden Center with a Gift Shop. We have evolved into a Destination Nursery with a strong presence of unique Yard Art.

After Growing up in My Family’s Nursery and trying other careers I decided this is where I belong. I love working outside in my «ever changing garden». Creating spaces people enjoy is very rewarding. I like shopping and exploring for new plants, yard art & gift items then getting to arrange them in our space, even better!
