I have to say this place started out pretty good for our first time, but they are over priced! Just because they get some good local referrals makes them the best chili verde in town I beg to differ. The food was good not great. Our second time around was unfortunately the last. My wife ordered some tamales and they were dry, dry like the Sahara Desert! Secondly she ordered their famous chili verde burrito, through the first couple bites she was fine, it’s when she bit the third time and was chewing she didnt notice anything until she was about to swallow and felt a scratch atop the roof of her mouth. She immediately spat it out and discovered what looks to be the thin wire that is inside the twisties you use at the grocery store to secure your produce etc. This incident was recent 12-24-2015. To think we were referring family & friends to this place. That changed real quick we will not recommend this run of the mill roach coach any business. This place also charged my wife $ 5 for a fountain drink?! Be warned patrons.

I have had several chili verde burritos here recently and they are good. For six dollars you get a big burrito with chili verde beans, rice onions cilantro and salsa. They may have other options, not sure but I would like it to have optional cheese and sour cream.

The name of this place is misleading. I haven’t seen a hot dog yet but who knows. These are the guys in the taco truck outside of the Home Depot on Rosedale highway. They are also the defending champions of the local chile verde cook off and have won some insane amount of years. Everything from the street tacos to the tea are well crafted. There are a few tables and chairs if you chose to sit there but it is all out in front of the parking lot and loading zone. One little mark against them is that they use nacho cheese on the their chili verde nachos and I think it takes away from how awesome they are.

My family & I absolutely love this place we go there at least once a week! Not sure why it’s referred to as a hot dog stand when they have the best chili verde there! You must try the chili verde nachos they are delicious & filling all by themselves. They also make chicken nachos not sure what they season that chicken with but it’s very flavorful. They also make burritos, tortas, & tamales! Did I mention they serve breakfast too! Stop by check them out you won’t be disappointed.

They don’t serve hotdogs that I know of, but everything else is delicious! Their Chile Verde is an award winner for a reason; it is seasoned perfectly, so tender, and just the right amount of heat! It’s good on anything especially the quesadilla! It’s not too often that you go to Home Depot for a burrito, but we go for food here more often than to shop. It’s a small family owned business, prices are right, and the food is consistently tasty!

I stop in here a couple times a week. I have no idea why its identified on Unilocal as a hot dog stand though? Food trucks don’t get anymore Mexican then this. food is great, always fresh and really hot and the prices are killer. 3 tacos, rice, beans and a drink for $ 5 flat. breakfast burritos are great. I don’t eat pork so I can’t speak to their famous Chile Verde but everything else I’ve had has been excellent.

I’ll start with 5 stars since everyone says it’s worth it for the chili verde. I went today, no chili verde. –1star. I ordered the carne asada taco plate with rice and beans. The carne asada tasted like it was fried in ground beef fat, gross! –1star Rice and beans were good. I’ll give them that. My wife’s super nachos were alright, same weird greasy ground beef tasting carne asada. She ordered the bottomless large soda. When we went to get a refill the lady said $ 1. It’s like what, it’s supposed to be bottomless… After we pointed out what HER menu said she said, «oh I forgot.» Really lady? It’s your business and you«forgot» what your menu says? She offered to refill it for free after that, but we declined since she already told us it’s supposed to cost money. Whatever, we won’t be back. I’ll give it 2 stars because the rice and beans were good. Went back for the refill.

Home Depot hot dog cart but the real deal is the Chili Verde. I eat at a ton of these HD palaces of haute cuisine and they can be great and they can be awful. The thing that I know for sure is take the advice of the maitre d’. In this case it was the Chili Verde, and it was great. I had the CV Burrito, from a long list of all things authentic CV. I guess CV and Bakersfield go hand in hand. So go with it if you find yourself in Bako, you won’t be disappointed.
