Cruz Thru Express

I’m pretty much a girl when it comes to my car. I just want it to run well enough to get me from place to place. I’m not really into all the fancy extra upgrades and functions, but I DO enjoy driving in a a car that’s clean, inside and out!
I pay $ 29.99 a month to get unlimited washes at Cruz Thru Express locations all over Bakersfield, but I spend MOST of my time at the one on Coffee Road. I like that there is rarely much of a line, and that even on those hot summer days when we’re ALL jonesing for a clean car they keep those lines moving very quickly. My monthly pass sticker on my windshield allows me to use a lane separate from those people who are paying for individual washes that scans the pass and keeps me moving faster than everybody else.
I visited THIS Cruz Thru location in a friend’s car. She has three kids and always gets the Laza Cruise package, which apparently includes, music, lollipops for the kids, and even a minion drawn on the outside of the window next to the five year old in soap. I can tell you he was QUITE please with it and was a little sad to see it dissolve as we passed through the car wash.
At the end of the Lava Cruise wash there is a photo opportunity where not only does your photo get taken with a cutely background, but you can go online and print the photos out. If I had kids I’d TOTALLY be down to get the Lava wash.
This location, on the Southwest corner of Calloway and Brimhall, is actually very convenient to my church, so I might just find my way back here again.

This location is the most convenient for me to go to since I live not very far. When you pull up to pay you are always greeted by a smiling face; their customer service is always on par. There are 3 different packages: Express ($ 6), The Works ($ 9), and Lava Cruz ($ 12). Typically The Works will do but if you want a deeper clean for you car choice the Lava Cruz. I enjoy that they have the self-​service vacuums but people like to stay there forever. The downfall for this location is that the line to get into the actual area is very inconvenient. There are two sides, the pay now and the pre-​paid/​member line, but once those are full they merge into one and form a line that curves. This is probably due to the lack of space.
I will continue coming here and will definitely miss it if/​when I leave Bakersfield.

You get what you pay for. I always get the $ 6 Express Wash. It gets the job done. Self service vacuuming is also useful. Also, they let you go through a second time if you’re not completely satisfied. The best part about this place is their customer service. Every location I’ve been to has had great friendly service!

Okay so this is like one step above your your gas station car wash. You get a lil extra attention up front from an actual person instead of a «punch your 5 digit code here» machine, and you also have the benefit of a superficial brush-​down prior to going through the spray baths and rotating rubber brushes. The similarities resume from there: the semi-​terrifying in-​car experience of going through the car wash in your vehicle (claustrophobics stay away) made only slightly more disturbing with the option of having your photograph taken just prior to the dryer cycle.
Despite this, I’m willing to add an extra star to an A-​OK experience for a single feature: the self-​service vacuums. Not only are they self-​service, they’re strong as hell. And a vacuum aficionado (read: OCD) like myself loves this shit.
Extra courtesies here include spare trash bags for your car if you need them, as well as skipping the typical gift shop wares that one might find at the more typical full-​service car washes. No need to remind me that I want a pack of Skittles AND a birthday card with a cantankerous old lady on the front.

Out of the 3 Cruz Thrus I frequent this one is at the bottom of the list. The wash is the same as the rest and it does a great job and I don’t think there is much than be done about my gripes. My issue is everything about this location feels cramped. It is located behind the Rite Aid and it is wedged in the back of the property.
There is a dual queue but the lines seem to run into each other if there are more than a few cars. The vacuum are seems tight and the exit of the wash doesn’t roll you out like the Coffee and DT locations. I constantly feel like I’m going to be rear ended if I don’t shift into drive before I’m through the dryer.
In the end I am a monthly pass member. It is a great value and super convenient, just not my favorite location.

Apparently the ownership has changed here. I say that because in the past this location has been spotless and very well maintained. Over the past few months the equipment in disrepair (side brushes don’t touch the car). When I told them about it all they said is «we know». The water has a very bad odor. Also none of the previous friendly staff. Very disappointed! Hopefully management will heed this review and bring it back to the 5 star rating it once was.

Very friendly cashiers but the car wash is horrible! The last 4 times I have been to this location the hood and top of my car is filthy after the volcano wash. Today I approached an employee to show them and he said I will tell my manager. When I approached the manager he basically did nothing and said «well you get a free wash with this service» Didn’t have time to go back through. You shouldn’t have to hand wash and towel dry half of your car immediately after your service. Told the manager I wouldn’t be back. He didn’t seem concerned. It is a shame because this location is very convenient and like I said the cashiers are fantastic.

The greeter was great. Really nice guy #358. They seem to go the extra mile also. I kinda have a higher end car so it was appreciated. Sometimes the washers seem to half-​ass his or her job but not here. Great staff and wash is acceptable for a drive thru. Give the employees a raise for working hard in the sun.

I love coming here while in Bakersfield. I only have full service washes for $ 20 – 25 or gas station car washes for $ 10 where I live in South OC. This place is like a hybrid for the same $ 10 price.
The attendants are always very friendly when I pull up and try to make it quick while at the same time making sure I have everything I need.
The wash seems very thorough even though it’s a drive thru and I don’t mind vacuuming myself at the end. This way I can make sure I get into all the crevices.
It’s the perfect maintenance wash while I’m in Bakersfield between the detailing or deeper cleaning I get done while back home.

I am used to touch-​less washes so I was not sure what to expect. I knew if I came home with damage on my new car, I would be a dead duck! Sooo I went with some reservations.
Staff explained everything, gave me a trash bag (free if you want one) and onward I went. I cannot stand having to align my front tire into the wheel trough thingy but staff on that side were attentive so it was no sweat getting me through there.
The car wash took little time.
I do not think any automatic car wash washes perfectly, there is always water and spot residue on the back bumper and other places that the vacuum does not make it to.
You can buy a pass for a whole month for something like $ 23. Great deal for someone that likes to have a cleaner vehicle daily knowing it will not take forever to go through.
My cost was $ 6 for an Express wash. Sure beats the CDN price I am used to of $ 13.
I went through with no line up at all midday and I make sure I go at least once a week as this town can be dusty! Hubby goes all the time too now.
At first we were concerned with some rim damage but after we looked into it, it could not be 100% attributed to the car wash. We appreciated the manager listening to our concerns and informing us exactly how the mechanics of the wash works!
They even have biscuits for my dog when they see her with me at the Calloway location! We go to the one off Buena Vista too out of convenience but our fave/​closest spot is Calloway.
They should win a customer service award as every single employee is super friendly.

I absolutely LOVE this car wash. The people who work here are always awesome. They draw pictures on the windows for my kids and ask if they can have lollipops. Makes my kids so happy and I love the experience. Always a shiny, clean car. Awesome service.

Typical drive through car wash. Gets the car clean fast, self serve vacuums, cheap prices — all great for this working mom. What really makes cruz thru stand out is their AMAZING customer service! Every. Single. Time. I come here, whoever it is taking my money is perky, upbeat, friendly — draws pictures on the windows for the kids, calls me by name after looking at my card, and offers the kids lollipops. Whatever they do to find employees like this, KEEP IT UP.

This is a reasonably priced car wash with self served vacuums. It’s a clean location with a helpful staff. The kids love when they draw funny pictures on the Windows before the cast goes through the wash and a free sucker is always nice for the kids. The CruzThru franchise is a great concept with several locations.

Been coming to this Cruz thru for a couple years now so I figured I should write a review about it. We have tried several of the other Cruz Thru’s in town as well as Lancaster and Palmdale locations. This one is by far the best one. They have friendly employees here and the car wash does a great job on my truck. Some of the others don’t do as good a job, not sure what the difference is but they just don’t work as well. I do know the one in Lancaster is quite a bit shorter with fewer brushes in it which might be a reason it doesn’t do as good a job. If you want to get through faster buy one of their frequent wash cards so you can skip the line and go through the other side.

Nieces loved this place. As for myself, I am a fan.
Cruz Thru Express has quite a few locations in Bakersfield. It’s very cool to just «drive thru» the car wash and watch the car be washed while you are just sitting inside your car. It’s even cooler to hear and watch the kids ooh and aah.
If you need a quick, affordable, and a reliable car wash, then Cruz Thru is the place for you. The prices range from $ 6 to $ 12. I always get the Express wash for $ 6 which includes the exterior car wash, spot-​free rinse, and blow dry.
Although, they do not have anyone to clean the interior of your vehicle, they do have self-​serve vacuums. I’ll always pull over to one of the parking spots to vacuum the interior of the car.
My only complaint is that their blow dry does not do that good a job of drying our car. I wish they provided some towels at no charge which we could use to finish drying off the exterior of our vehicles.
Other than that, I’ve got no complaints.

Our favorite place (thus far) to get our cars washed in Bake! I also like the location on Coffee Road. This location on Calloway seems a bit smaller than the one on Coffee.
Overall — reliable, speedy, clean, and reasonably priced.
I like the self-​service vacuums available on the side of the car wash station — I’m able to do a thorough cleanse of my car inside and out!

This place is fun and for $ 12 we got the lava wash which includes a free lollipop and a free basic at wash to use in the next 5 days. Would come back again if we are passing through Bakersfield

Great car wash, I like how I get a second car wash within 5 days at no extra charge. If I lived in Bakersfield, I would sign up for their unlimited monthly plan.
I have edited my review, as my question about the monthly plan was promptly answered by the owner! It can in fact be used at all location, including the location in Lancaster that I did not know about. I’m crossing my fingers for an Eastside Palmdale location.

Quick wash, no line, and $ 5 basic exterior wash makes my life much easier. Staff is always friendly and they have a convenient trash can as you pull up to dump unwanted trash in your car.
The vacuums are clutch for the dusty interior (thanks, Bakersfield!) and I usually keep some quick wipes with me to wipe up the dash and interior.

I will never visit another gas station car wash again. I was paying $ 8 for a crappy wash that would leave certain spots on my car dirty.
For $ 5 at Cruz Thru, I got a smiling attendant, a lollipop for the kiddo, a smiley face drawn in soap on the rear passenger window (the kiddo loved it), a bug wash pre-​rinse on my windshield, guys with brushes pre-​washing the car, a thorough wash, and efficient dryers.
$ 10 will get you a deluxe wash a clear coat and I think some sort of wax. This is the best $ 5 wash my car has ever received.
