Matt is an amazing coach who really cares about his students. Past and present. We moved across country and Matt looked into schools so that my 2 sons and daughter would have a good place to train. He has always cheered for them no matter where we were. Our family says he is like Mr. Miagi if Mr. Miami were patient and explained things. His whole family trains there and his wife is also a black belt. If you are looking for a gym in Bakersfield you will love this one

If you are looking for a place to get in shape, learn something new, meet great people, and train with the best, then BBJJ is the place for you. I’ve been training here for about 8 months and it has been a blast. There is a huge amount of knowledge in this gym at all belt levels and everyone is very approachable. BBJJ offers kids classes as well and is very family oriented. Matt and Jill Baker are very have created a very warm environment at BBJJ. I know it can be intimidating coming to train at a new place but you should definitely give BBJJ a try, I know you will be pleasantly surprised.

Bakersfield Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the real deal. Not only do they offer great classes taught by Matt Baker, a high level black belt, but they also offer kids classes. If BJJ isn’t enough they even offer Muay Thai and MMA workouts. This is also a family friendly gym. Matt’s wife Jill and kids also take classes there.

I have been training at this gym for six months. I was very nervous about how the atmosphere would be here. My doubts were quickly changed after the first night of training. The group of people training here are helpful and friendly to newcomers. I love the comradery here! The gym is also very family friendly. There is a room for the kids to hang out in while training. Matt Baker (instructor) is very professional and knowledgeable about Jiu Jitsu. His passion for the sport is shown in his classes and is approachable when more help is needed. I will also add that Matt’s wife, Jill and their kids also do Jiu Jitsu! I enjoy training here and have built some good friendships here as well.
