Eric Nolan is very rude, at least to me when I was taking Kung-Fu classes at 10 years old. In fact, calling him rude is an understatement. He’s more of a homophobic jerk that likes to taunt kids for no reason. I’ll explain: I had been attending classes for months, moved up the ranks to the third belt quickly(orange), thought I was in good standing with him personally(no rude comments so far), but one evening I had a pimple on my right earlobe where an earring piercing would be. Remember, I’m 10. It was a pimple, not a piercing. Apparently he thought this was a good opportunity to make fun of my sexuality and ask, «Are you gay? Only fags pierce their right ear.» WTF?! I was only 10, and barely starting puberty can be a confusing time. Yes, I now realize that I AM gay, but at 10 years old I was struggling with those issues and was very uncomfortable with the fact that I might turn out to be gay. The fact that he was calling me a «fag» because I had a pimple on my right earlobe definitely didn’t help make my issues easier to deal with. I suggest that if you have children you keep them away from Eric. He, in my opinion, has serious issues if he would make fun of a 10 year old for ANY reason. At least let us grow up before you attempt to beat us down emotionally. (Edit: I feel the need to explain further, somewhat in Eric’s defense. I do not feel that it should have ever been acceptable, but this was in the 90’s and gays were not as accepted as we are today. So, while it was somewhat more acceptable in mainstream society to make fun of gays at the time, I feel he is still a disgusting person for making fun of a child for being gay in ANY decade!)

So glad my contract is up. I’m never dealing with these people ever again. My son was interested so I came here. I signed for a year contract(that you cannot break, you have to continue paying out til the contract ends no matter what). So I had my son(10)put in kickboxing classes;he tried it out for a few months and wanted to stop coming and pick up sports in school. We stopped coming and of course I continued paying; so the last month to pay comes up and I’m happy to know I’m longer paying right… WRONG! They continue taking money out of my account, I called to find out why, I left a message, no answer back so I called back later. I speak to the lady«in charge» of monitoring the accounts as she said and she tells me well how do I know if you want to stop coming unless you call and cancel… but the contract was only to pay for a year so why are you paying yourself for MORETHAN A YEAR ??? She says she has hundreds of accounts she ‘personally’ monitors, if she is personally monitoring them why is mine the one she is NOT monitoring, or did she just mean she’s monitoring all the money rolling in. So I asked if I would be refunded for the extra money taken and she says no, my mind is really blown at this point. What professional business deals with customers like this??? I’m so tired of these«professional» crooks with the«I don’t give a shit just give me your money» attitudes. I paid months to you without coming to your gym with NOPROBLEM, and you can’t refund the money that you over charged me, REALLY… Fxck you! I hope someone scams YOUR ass!

I was a student for 2 years. The academy put in the best shape of my life. I enjoy knowing how to defend myself. Before joining the gym I had NO fighting skills what so ever. After a few months of training, I was able to spar and go the distance with a couple of guys. I’m very proud to be a student of the«Academy of International Martial Arts.» I recommend this academy to ANYONE seeking to learn self defense or wanting to become an MMA fighter. If you want to be the best, you have to train with the best!
