Stopped in this morning @ 8:30 am to grab a cup of coffee. The staff is always very nice. Overheard a conversation about how the coffee looked«white» between a supervisor and a regular employee. They both seemed concerned about the appearance of the coffee, but proceeded to let me purchase it anyways. If there was a problem with it, I’d sure not like to purchase it.

Visit/stop was on Friday, November 13, 2015. During a road trip the most important is a restroom and gas. We made a stop here for some gas. As good as it gets! my car was happy yay!

I stop by here from time to time for coffee and gas. The workers are nice enough and my only problem is that the gas pumps are broke all the time and they don’t take credit cards. Other than that its cool.

The location, on the Northeast corner of Ming Ave and Wible, across the street from the Valley Plaza Mall, would appear at first to be a very convenient location, but looks can be deceiving. First of all, it’s only convenient to turn into this station from the Northbound lanes of Wible or the Westbound lanes of Ming. And you can only really exit headed back North on Wible or West on MIng. It’s a very crowded intersection and it’s really kind of a pain to get into and out of this station. Once you do pull in, you’ll discover that the card machines out at the pumps won’t take debit cards(You can’t use a credit card either inside the store or at the pumps) — You have to go inside to pay with an ATM card, and then they STILL charge you a fee for using the card. And the cashier inside did not seem like she was in a good mood, and ignored my question about whether she was aware the payment machines outside were not taking cards. I didn’t get the impression she was at all surprised. Normally, an Arco station earns an automatic 4 stars from me for a combination of having cheap gas and a high convenience factor. Having to go inside to pay is NOT convenient. It is also not convenient to park and go inside the Ampm convenience store. The parking in front of the store is so tight it was hard to back up out of the space without hitting cars pulled up dispensing gasoline at the pumps. However, once inside, the restrooms reasonably clean AND(da-da-da-DA) have XLERATOR hand dryers installed, the Rolls Royce of dryers. Seriously, I LIVE for these silly hand dryers. Your hands are bone dry in mere seconds. The soda fountain offered several different diet soda options including Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, and Diet Dr. Pepper. They even had some Hispanic sodas(not diet) that I’d never seen before. Bonus points for a hand sanitizer station just inside the door. I probably wouldn’t stop here again because I hate having to go inside to pay, but the prices are cheap and the restrooms clean, so if you have cash it’s not a bad option.

Conveniently located in the corner of Ming and New Stine, this gas station is one of our top 2 gas stations we go to. I like how they have two little areas for the pumps so it doesn’t get so crazy with traffic coming in and out.

I have never seen worse customer service in my whole life-and I have worked in some pretty high turn-over restaurants with some pretty mediocre servers. But I have officially discovered Bakersfield’s rudest«service» industry employee. Don’t be fooled by her whimsical nickname ‘Lelo’. No sir. She completely berated a woman for asking for help with the fountain soda machine. Apparently the woman’s soda was flat and she was asking for help with the CO2 levels… she was polite and calm to the worker. Instead, Lelo looked pissed to have to take time from her phone conversation(she was wearing a blue tooth while she was restocking coffee) and told the customer that if it was that important to her she can go outside to where the CO2 canisters are and try to fix it herself. I was completely appalled. And the other woman working the counter just got wide-eyed and didn’t know what to say. I wished I had left my coffee on the counter and left… but I was really late for work already. Either way– I won’t be returning and I recommend anyone that doesn’t want to feel like punching out a terrible person first thing in the morning to skip it as well. Boy do I miss Rosedale.

We stopped for gas today. This is a great place to stop. We traveled from the Kern River and are heading home. This station is conveniently located about 3 blocks off of the freeway. It is next door to a McDonalds. It is surrounded by fast food(Del Taco) is across the street. We went to Taco Bell. There is retail shopping on Ming Ave. As for the gas station… Everything was great. Check out the photos.
