The parking here is kind of odd as it’s right next to a supermarket and there was hardly any space to park. I think you can come in or drive through off one of the other main streets but I couldn’t seem to find the other entrance. After you walk through some bushes or down the steps that lead in the the pavilion-like area, you find this cute post office. It was really busy too, but the most people seemed to whizz in and out just checking P.O. boxes. I hardly saw anyone standing in line to mail things, but maybe that’s due to the service. I didn’t feel any difference in the normal sense of malaise and lethargy exhibited by most post office professionals. I guess you just get used to it. The outside signage was cool though. I didn’t like that there were like 3 tables of people wanting you to sign petitions for clean energy, or organic products or plastic usage, or whatever else you could think of. I just wanted to take a picture in front of the post office and not sign my life away. Although… this is the post office we’re talking about here. Love free speech and the right to petition though, don’t get me wrong.

I agree with the previous review by E.H. It is no wonder that the post office is in trouble. At the core of it all is their lack of customer service. Had a very unfriendly experience at the Bainbridge Island main post office. While I am sure many of the clerks at this office are pleasant, the one who provided service to me certainly was not. Without going into all the details lets just say she was rude, didn’t say thank you, refused to give me cash back when the terminal offered, didn’t explain my service, just an overall lack of customer service. UPS for me in the future.

I hate to be a grump, but this place personifies why the USPS can’t compete with private sector. I had a USPS certified mail tracking number indicate a pair of glasses had been delivered to my locked mailbox, but I hadn’t actually received them. I called the post office and placed an inquiry on their official online web form. The person I spoke with showed zero interest in helping me and expressed zero regret for my not insignificant plight(the package contained needed eyeglasses). I received no help or resolution from USPS and had to work with the manufacturer to get another pair delivered(through UPS!)

Friendly small town feel. Get in, get out. Get on with life. What more do you need?
