As a freshman I was so excited to see a sushi restaurant open on campus. It soon became one of my favorite places to grab dinner or lunch. It has been about three years since I last ate Umai sushi, and after my most recent visit, I can’t believe I waited so long . After looking over the menu I decided to order a bento box. Included in this was half of a California roll, teriyaki chicken with rice, and a salad. The line was short and our food was ready pretty quickly. The staff was not very personable but they were speedy. The food was good. Obviously not the same as a sushi restaurant, but still good . Overall for campus food I enjoyed my dinner. Much better than some of the other campus dining options, and much quicker. I will be coming back through this year.

Convenient, quick, and cheap. It doesn’t compare to a real sushi restaurant but it’s also not as expensive. It’s a fast place to get some decent food for a decent price. Don’t over think it.

My experience at Umai Sushi was very good. The service was very fast, although the students working there seemed like they were new, they were still very helpful and informative. The food was great, I had the teriyaki chicken bowl and a side of edamame. I really enjoyed how many options they had available for students, you can get combo meals, additional sides, or just a bowl or roll of sushi. This is a great option for students on the go or for a meal between classes quick. Efficient, good food, and conveniently located.

Decent sushi 75% of the time. Owner is pretty rude and unhelpful, however. Sometimes their machines aren’t on and you can’t order most of what’s on the menu. Recently I thought I’d give it another go. I ended up waiting 20 minutes for the same meal that two customers before me ordered and had made in less than three minutes. Owner was extremely unaccommodating after they finally made my food. Not eating here again.

Haven’t had time to update many places. Heard they made changes and tried it out. The place has gotten alot better. The service provided has improved greatly and the food actually looks like pieces of sushi. Compared to other sushi places, this is still a little bit lacking, but for something that is college run, this has greatly improved in comparison to the last time I have been there.

I don’t care what people say. To have sushi on campus that serve the essentials has pretty much become vital to all day class routine. i’m a big fan and i gotta say i love it. tempura rolls and the dragon roll cannot be denied. if you have an on campus meal plan, do the bento deal. it’s actually pretty yummy.

The title pretty much says it all. Umai is a little takeout counter for sushi and convenience wise, it’s pretty great. The food however… I got the baked Alaskan roll. The rice was a bit cold and hard, the salmon under baked and overall a BLEH taste experience. The sushi may not be good here, but it is fast and convenient and perfect for students on the run.
